Chapter 138 - A Bridge Between Two Worlds(part137)

(After a short trip through the quiet streets of Tokyo, Ahmed and his family, accompanied by Honoka and Yoshika, arrive at the Tanaka family home. Everyone stands in front of the house for a few moments, while Ahmed holds the Yemeni gifts he brought with him.)

(He takes a deep breath.)

Ahmed (jokingly): "Wish me luck... I'm going to be a translator today."

(Some of his brothers laugh, while Misaki smiles lightly.)

Misaki steps toward the door and rings the doorbell.

After a few moments...

The door opens.

Misaki's father and mother appear with warm, welcoming smiles.

Misaki's Father: "Welcome."

(Everyone bows respectfully, while Ahmed translates the greeting for his family.)

The group enters the house. The living room was carefully arranged, and the table had been set to receive the guests. Everyone sits in their places, but at first, there is a natural sense of tension that comes with a first meeting.

(Ahmed's father looks at Misaki's father, smiling, and then speaks in Arabic.)

Ahmed's Father: "Thank you for your kindness in receiving my son throughout this period."

(Everyone turns to Ahmed.)

Ahmed: "Ah... the mission has begun."

(He translates the words into Japanese.)

As soon as Misaki's father hears the translation, he smiles and responds kindly.

Misaki's Father: "Ahmed is a respectful and hardworking young man. We are happy that we have gotten to know him."

(Ahmed translates it back into Arabic.)

Ahmed's mother smiles with clear pride.

The next few minutes are spent exchanging conversations.

Misaki's parents ask about Yemen.

Ahmed's mother asks about life in Japan.

As for Ahmed…

He was constantly switching between the two languages.

From Arabic to Japanese.

From Japanese to Arabic.

Until he began to feel the words mixing inside his head.

At one point…

One of Ahmed's brothers says something quickly in Arabic.

Ahmed tries to translate it, but he suddenly stops in the middle of the sentence.

Ahmed: "Wait... how do I explain this in Japanese?"

(Everyone bursts into laughter.)

Even Misaki's father and mother laugh when Misaki explains the reason for his confusion to them.

As time passes…

The tension disappears completely.

Smiles begin to increase.

And formal conversations turn into friendly and spontaneous chats.

Ahmed feels happy as he watches his family and Misaki's family trying to communicate despite the differences in language and culture.

It was like a small bridge being built between two different worlds.

And while the adults were absorbed in conversation…

The children and youth began looking at each other with greater curiosity, as if they were preparing to start their own conversations away from the adults' discussions.
