Chapter 16 - CHAPTER 16: When Little Stars Begin to Glow

Dhara-Loka woke to a quiet morning, soft like an exhale. The clouds drifted lazily above Vyomtara Manor, pale gold in the rising sun, and somewhere in the eastern courtyards, birds called gently to one another. Inside the manor, the triplets—now four years and six months old—stirred awake with the slow curiosity of children who felt something shifting, even if they could not name it.

Aryan was the first to open his eyes. He lay still for a moment, watching a leaf fall outside the balcony rail. It drifted in a slow spiral—soft, green, alive. He blinked once, a faint spark flickering across his fingertips before disappearing like a firefly. He didn't react. This had been happening more often.

Sasi woke next, rolling over with a dramatic sigh and sitting up with his hair sticking in all directions. The moment he stretched his small hands, a faint shiver of blue light danced around his fingers—like a spark trying to speak. He giggled softly, thinking it was "morning dust."

Aditya shot awake last, as usual, and the blanket flew off him like a miniature explosion. His palms were warm—warmer than they should be—and when he yawned, the air in front of his mouth wavered like rising heat.

None of them understood what it meant.

But the world around them had begun to notice.

The courtyard of Vyomtara Manor stretched wide beneath the pale sky as training horns echoed from the knight grounds. Rows of armored soldiers practiced their morning drills—orderly steps, sharp rotations, disciplined stances.

Duke Varesh stood with Achintya, observing the formations. The Duke's eyes had thinned with quiet thought these past weeks. Too many strange things had happened.

The flowers leaning toward Aryan when he passed. The lamps glowing brighter when Sasi laughed. The fire pit flaring each time Aditya ran by.

None of this should be possible.

No one—no matter how talented—could summon their constellation's element before awakening their chakra.

Yet his three children did it… without trying.

Varesh's hands tightened behind his back.

Something was changing.

The triplets arrived at the training ground with the clumsy excitement of children who loved open spaces. Aditya ran ahead, waving at the knights like he was their commander. Sasi followed while humming something cheerful. Aryan walked quietly, watching dust sparkle in the sunlight.

The knights paused their drills.

"Little Masters," they greeted with warmth.

Aditya puffed his chest proudly. "We are here to watch training!"

Sasi nodded eagerly. "And play!"

Aryan simply bowed his head politely.

Varesh's lips twitched. "You three may watch—just stay close."

But children seldom obey gently spoken instructions.

Aditya stepped forward first, eyes glowing with curiosity as the knights practiced sword arcs. One knight swung a heavy blade upward, and Aditya whispered, almost to himself:

"I want to try…"

The air around his palm shimmered.

A small ember—tiny as a seed—burst into existence.

The nearest knight dropped his sword in shock.

Sasi, seeing fire, gasped happily. "My turn!"

A spark leapt from his fingertips, crackling purple like playful lightning.

Aryan stared at them, then at the grass beneath his feet. He didn't want to be left out. He reached down gently—

—and the roots under the earth stirred.

A single blade of grass grew upward, taller… taller… wrapping softly around his ankle like a greeting.

The training ground fell silent.

Three children stood glowing with three elements no child should command. Not at this age.Not before awakening. Not without a guide.

Achintya stepped back, breath caught in his throat.

Varesh's voice came out low, shaken, reverent—"Asuras preserve us… They are manifesting constellations without chakra."

The knights knelt without thinking.

The world… had changed.

Aditya laughed first, waving his tiny flame like it was a toy.

"Father! Look!"

The flame danced, growing brighter.

"Strong!" he shouted proudly.

Sasi giggled, letting lightning zip between his hands like playful butterflies.

"Mine tickles!"

Aryan watched the grass around him curl gently into patterns, like vines tracing a constellation only he understood.

Varesh knelt slowly, placing one hand on each child's shoulder.

"My sons," he said softly, "listen to me."

They looked up at him with innocence. With trust. With wonder.

"These powers you have… they are not toys."

Aditya tilted his head. "But it's fun."

Sasi nodded. "Very fun!"

Aryan only whispered, "It feels… alive."

Varesh sighed, moved by a mix of pride and fear.

Achintya stepped forward. "Varesh… this is beyond us. Children cannot control raw element. If they lose focus—"

The Duke finished the thought with a whisper,"—the power may hurt them. Or someone else."

The three children looked down, suddenly unsure.

Aditya's flame weakened.Sasi's sparks dimmed.Aryan's growing grass stilled.

Varesh gathered them gently into his arms.

"You are not in trouble," he said softly. "You are special. More special than I ever dreamed. And because of that, you need someone to guide you."

"Guide?" Aryan asked quietly.

"A teacher," Varesh explained.

"A strong one?" Aditya asked excitedly.

"The best," Sasi whispered.

"Someone who understands chakra," Varesh confirmed. "Someone who can teach you how to awaken safely… and how to control this power."

Achintya exhaled slowly. "There is only one man who can handle something like this…"

Varesh nodded. "Yes."

The memory of a sage under the moonlight flashed through his mind—the man who named the children the night they were born, who saw the threads of fate wrapped around them.

Rishi Vedananda.

The sage who touched the triplets' foreheads and said, "These three… will illuminate the ages."

Varesh rose, decision made.

"I will send a hawk immediately. Vedananda must return to Vyomtara."

The knights bowed in agreement.

Aditya, Sasi, and Aryan exchanged fascinated glances.

"A teacher…" Aryan murmured.

"Who will make fire big!" Aditya declared.

"Who will teach lightning dances!" Sasi added.

Varesh smiled faintly. "More importantly… he will teach you how to use power without hurting yourselves."

Aditya considered that.Sasi blinked.Aryan nodded quietly.

Achintya cleared his throat. "Until the sage arrives… no more summoning."

The triplets looked disappointed.

But Aryan whispered softly,"We wait. It's okay."

Varesh inhaled slowly, proud of their understanding.

He placed a hand on each of their heads.

"My boys… your path begins sooner than anyone imagined."

Above them, the sky shimmered with thin streaks of sunlight—almost like three unseen constellations watching their children grow.

The knights returned to training. The Duke sent messengers flying toward distant mountains. And the triplets walked back to the manor holding hands, the faintest glow still hidden behind their small fingers.

Their destiny had stirred.

And now… it could no longer sleep.
