Jericho, Watcher of the Wall widened his stance, stepping one foot in front of the other.
He lifted his bow from his back and drew an arrow.
As the man drew his bow, the dusty red sand around him rose like mist.
Levian could sense the power from across the distance.
I have to get close!
He burst into a sprint, dragging Nyx on the sand beneath him. He tried to run in wiggling lines to throw off Jericho's aim.
But the pale giant let out a muffled laugh as he pulled his arrow back.
"Fool. Even for an elf, you're far too slow to dodge the Absolute Arrow."
Jericho let the arrow loose, and it picked up sand and curled the wind as it flew through the air.
Levian dashed to the side, hoping to dodge out of the way, but as he did, he realised something...
The arrow curved in mid air, as though it were locked onto his position.
Levian acted in an instant.
He knew that he wouldn't be able to raise his weapon in time, and also didn't trust that he'd be able to deflect the arrow successfully.
That left him no other choice.
For the first time, he activated one of Nyx's skills.

Fade Between Realms ~ Nyx slips the wielder into a twilight realm for 6 seconds, becoming untargetable and invisible. Upon return, the next attack is guaranteed to crit and causes fear for 2 seconds. (60 second cooldown)

The colours around Levian suddenly became inverted.
Everything was a cacophony of black and white. The red sand beneath his feet, and the blue sky above his head, both reduced to greyscale.
The arrow shot towards Levian, and then, it passed through him.
With this skill, he could enter a different realm, making him impossible to hit.
Jericho stood there, stunned for a moment. He had lost sight of his opponent.
Levian used the chance to dash forwards and close the distance.
As the skill wore off, there were only twenty meters between him and Jericho.

Levian reappeared, and Jericho's body jolted in confusion.
The two stared each other down across the red sand.
"How did you know I was an elf?" Levian asked, confused at the boss's earlier words.
Jericho scoffed, tossing his bow to the side.
"Because you reek of elven blood."
Jericho's arms fell limp by his side, and he began to take steps towards Levian. His fists clenched, and his muscles rippled. His dark hair continued to cover the features of his face, but his menace was evident.
Levian stood there, Nyx lifted and readied.
He wants to fight up close... I thought he was an archer?
Works all the better for me.
Levian circled around Jericho. His skill was on cooldown, and could be the decider of the battle if he waited for it to finish.
He needed to stall time.
"You're weak, I can sense it." Levian tried to taunt.
Jericho continued to approach, without hesitation in his step. He showed no intention of circling, but rather a direct approach.
"For a platinum dungeon boss, you lack—"
Jericho dashed forwards with immense speed, closing the distance between them in just a second.
He slid on the sand, fists drawn back and threw a punch. Even though he was out of range, the force of the punch crashed into his chest, sending him sliding backwards.
Another punch came afterwards. This time Levian managed to raise Nyx just in time.
The force crashed into the sword, sending his guard flying.
His defence was only 5, the weakest of his stats. This made his poise and guard flimsy.
Levian managed to ready himself before Jericho dashed in again. He kicked into the sand, sending a cloud of dust upwards, blocking Levian's vision.
Shit!
Levian tried to dash to the side, gaining a view of his opponent and distancing himself from the cloud, but a force more powerful than the others crashed into his chin.
It was an uppercut, lifting his feet from the ground and sending him tumbling backwards.
"Agh!" Levian coughed.
His system pinged.
[Life Force: 90/180]
In just that short exchange, his life force had been brought down to half!
And it wasn't over, Levian opened his eyes to find Jericho in the air, descending down upon him with a charged blow.
His fist glowed with black essence, and he prepared to crash into him.
But Levian acted fast.
He activated his second skill.

Absolute Silence ~ Strike the ground and silence an area for 30 seconds. Enemies within cannot cast spells or use skills, and their footsteps make no sound. (120 second cooldown)

The black flames surrounding Nyx suddenly switched to white, as Levian quickly smashed his blade into the ground, activating the weapon skill.
In an instant, a white ethereal circle appeared in the area around them, drawing the space into absolute silence.
The aura surrounding Jericho's hand had faded away as his skill had been cancelled.
However, his strike still came strong.
An empty fist slammed into Levian's chest, sending him flying and tumbling over and over himself.
Blood sprayed from his mouth as he came to a stop out of the circle of silence.
Levian's system pinged again.
[DANGER: LOW LIFE FORCE!]

Levian struggled to climb to his feet. Being so close to death had drained him both physically and mentally.
As he did, he saw Jericho's giant pale form walking towards him.
The man's face remained cloaked by his hair, and his voice came proud.
"You are weak. Why did you come here?"
Levian didn't bother speaking. Doing so felt as if it would drain the remaining life force he had flowing through his body.
Instead, he waited...
Waited for the man to get closer.
10 meters...
7.5 meters...
5 meters...
Jericho expected that the battle was over. His opponent was far too hurt to continue.
The power gap between them was too far.
But what he didn't know, was that Levian's mythical sword Nyx's first skill had finished its cooldown.
Levian muttered to himself, blood falling from his mouth in the process.
Fade Between Realms!
Levian suddenly entered the invisible world of Nyx.
And he had six seconds to find a way to defeat the monster in front of him, without taking a hit.
