Chapter 222 - Chapter 222 GreenBlue

Boom!

A violent explosion erupted, sending a fireball into the sky. The shockwave blasted outwards, crushing and overturning the surrounding trees.

A dark shadow fell from the flames, slamming into the ground and creating a large crater. Jason quickly flew over to investigate. He saw Hulk lying on the ground. The wound from the sword was a gaping, bloody mess of torn flesh.

Hulk's skin has extremely high resistance; ordinary explosions and attacks are nothing more than an itch to him. But his internal resistance isn't nearly as strong. Jason had first stabbed the sword one-third of its length into his body, then moved the energy to the tip, and finally detonated the energy sword.

This was an idea Jason had planned long ago, inspired by various movies from his past life. It turned out that movie-inspired ideas worked quite well. The energy sword had blown a large chunk of flesh from Hulk's waist, leaving a gruesome wound.

"Heh. Next time, I'll try sticking the sword up your ass and detonating it," Jason floated in mid-air, arms crossed, his expression unspeakably smug. His opponent was the Hulk, yet he had managed to (what he saw as) 'use weakness to overcome strength' and wound him. This was enough to make him proud.

"ROAR!!!"

Seeing Jason, Hulk roared at him, exceptionally furious.

"Hmph! It's dark. Playtime's over. Time to go home and sleep with my wife."

With that, Jason shot straight up into the clouds like a rocket.

Acting all tough and then bailing... so damn satisfying!

But Hulk wasn't about to let Jason go. He gathered his strength and leaped, unbelievably, nearly a thousand meters into the air.

"The angrier he gets, the stronger he gets, huh!"

Jason frowned, gathering a Rasengan-like energy sphere in one hand. Just as Hulk was about to reach him, he flung the sphere. It flew out and slammed squarely into Hulk's face.

"Boom!"

The sphere exploded on contact, the powerful shockwave neutralizing Hulk's upward momentum. After hanging in the air for a moment, Hulk plummeted to the ground.

Jason seized the opportunity to accelerate and flee. Against an angry Hulk, he'd probably be taken out in one second.

"ROAR!"

Watching Jason disappear completely, Hulk angrily smashed his fists on the ground. His look of rage was quite amusing.

...

The battle between Jason and Hulk finally came to an end. Meanwhile, General Ross and his special forces team had also arrived in Brazil.

They didn't find Banner at the soda factory, but Ross immediately received intel about a fierce battle in the suburbs.

The commotion from Hulk and Jason's fight was so massive it had practically changed the terrain, terrifying nearby residents into calling the police.

Upon receiving this intel, Ross immediately deduced that Jason and Hulk were fighting and led his troops toward the location. By the time they arrived in their armored vehicles, the battle was over.

A dozen special forces soldiers, holding tranquilizer guns,... crept closer, only to find a green monster sitting on the ground, looking frustrated and sulking.

Seeing this, even the battle-hardened soldiers were completely dumbfounded.

"Holy shit! What is that monster!" Blonsky's face was grim. He quickly contacted Ross, who was commanding from the rear.

"That is our target. Fire tranquilizer rounds, now!" Ross commanded calmly.

The order given, the soldiers suppressed their fear, aimed at Hulk, and fired.

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The muffled shots rang out as syringe-like darts hit Hulk accurately. Unfortunately, when the needles hit his skin, it was like hitting a steel plate; they bent at a ninety-degree angle.

"ROAR!"

Hulk leaped to his feet and charged toward the jungle where the soldiers were hiding. They had come at the worst possible time. Hulk was filled with rage and looking for something to vent on.

"Shit! The monster's coming! Fire, fire!"

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The tranquilizer rounds poured out, but still failed to pierce his skin.

"Live rounds!" Blonsky roared, quickly swapping magazines.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

However, the bullets hitting Hulk's body were like an itch. They had no effect other than to enrage him further.

Hulk charged into their position, swinging his fists and smashing everyone he saw. Any soldier who was hit was instantly turned into meat paste. In just one charge, more than half the soldiers were killed or wounded. Blonsky, seeing this, quickly and quietly slipped away.

Luckily, Hulk wasn't interested in these small fries. After seeing them flee, he just stood his ground and roared, but didn't give chase.

Ross, watching through his soldiers' body cams, witnessed Hulk's entire rampage. He had anticipated this failure. If Hulk could be stopped with mere bullets and tranquilizers, his power wouldn't be worth pursuing.

Ross ordered a retreat,... all while cursing Jason.

If Jason hadn't interfered, they could have captured Banner before he transformed.

......

Jason had no idea what happened afterward. He flew back to New York unhindered and returned to the Joker organization's hideout.

The first thing he did was go to the hideout's clinic for a check-up.

Hulk's punch had been incredibly powerful, leaving a deep wound on his chest. Even now, it still ached when he breathed.

After several hours of a thorough examination, Jason finally breathed a sigh of relief. The wound looked scary, but it was just a flesh wound; it hadn't damaged his bones or internal organs.

A flesh wound would heal on its own. Christine's hideout was far from New York, so Jason didn't want to bother her by traveling back and forth.

After his check-up, Jason sat at the table, enjoying a delicious post-battle meal while inspecting the backpack he'd swiped from Banner.

There wasn't much inside: a wallet, a laptop, Betty's photo, and a few items of clothing. Unfortunately, from the high-altitude fall, the laptop was smashed to pieces.

The organization had recruited plenty of computer and forensic experts. Jason called them over to see if they could find any valuable information from the electronic parts and personal items.

After Jason finished his meal and woke up from a good sleep, the expert team had good news. They had actually found something in that pile of junk.

The first piece of information was obvious: Banner's girlfriend, Dr. Betty.

He was returning to the country for her and treasured her photo. Such true love was rare, but for a villain like Jason, it meant Banner had a fatal weakness.

The second piece of information: the experts had repaired the hard drive. While most of the data was destroyed, they had luckily recovered the most critical part. During his half-year in hiding, Banner, under the alias "Mr. Green," had been seeking help online and was in close contact with someone called "Mr. Blue."

Unfortunately, the drive was too damaged to recover "Mr. Blue's" email address.

After hearing the report, Jason immediately contacted Chloe. He told her to monitor Dr. Betty's phone and to keep a close watch on all internet email traffic, paying special attention to the names "Mr. Blue" and "Mr. Green."

Now that he was on bad terms with Banner, he had to be prepared for anything.
