Chapter 340: Gagar: My Life is Too Hard
Gourmet Universe, somewhere.
"Ichiryu! Are you saying you don't trust my strength?"
Don Slime's tone was full of dissatisfaction. It's just a long 'worm' with a capture level of a few hundred thousand! Does the great King Slime really need to 'avoid' it?
He had wanted to attack, but Ichiryu just grabbed him and "Nigerundayo'd" (ran away).
"Haha, we already took the ingredient it was guarding. There's no need to wipe it out," Ichiryu laughed, unconcerned.
This was just his personality. Don Slime knew this and could only sigh helplessly.
Sigh... who told me to choose Ichiryu. He was a "great good person"... no, a "saint."
But, he was content. The Ichiryu of the past wouldn't even eat good food. He had already changed a lot.
...
[Galactic Baseballer]: "Spectra, are there any 'spirits' on your side with a really 'crude' (OP) mechanic and explosive stats? Recommend me one."
Spectra-Onion: "There are some. But whether you can capture one... that's up to you."
Spectra thought for a moment. The ones he remembered were no low-level spirits.
[Star Forger]: "There is! There is! Check out Gagar. He has the 'noble' execute mechanic."
[Star Forger]: "As long as you can trigger it, you can get an instant kill."
"Attia" (Seer character) loved Gagar. No matter what opponent he faced, he had to pull out Gagar to "try his luck."
While everyone else was in awe of Spectra's power, Attia was unmovable... and would send out Gagar.
(Gagar: My life is too hard! What is this 'ungodly' matchmaking?!)
If Gagar "crashed" (was defeated), Attia would just pull out his own "Moon-Slaying Twin Blades," which also had an execute mechanic.
Gagar and Attia... a match made in heaven.
[Galactic Baseballer]: "There's a spirit with a mechanic that 'ungodly' (broken)?"
[The Champion]: "The trigger for that mechanic must be extremely difficult, right?"
If it could be triggered every time, that would be too broken.
As a proper Pokémon trainer, Cynthia didn't believe in that possibility.
[Star Forger]: "It's a 5% trigger chance. It's pure luck."
If you're an "African" (unlucky), you don't stand a chance. You'll be killed by the opponent before you get it.
It says 5%, but the actual trigger rate is even lower.
[Galactic Baseballer]: "That probability is way too low!"
It sounds great at first... a "noble execute"... but you have to trigger it. Otherwise, it's useless.
[Galactic Baseballer]: "I feel like that gambler, Aventurine, would be a perfect trainer for this 'spirit'."
[Star Forger]: "That's because you don't know. Ever since Attia learned about Gagar's mechanic, no matter how strong the opponent, he has to send Gagar out to 'try' (get beaten). Even against Spectra."
Spectra also remembered... in the anime, that green-skinned guy (Attia) threw out a little spirit, and he (Spectra) swatted it aside in two or three hits.
It's weak, okay? Even if it has an execute mechanic, it has to hit first.
[Shizu-cute]: "It's like they say, 'No kid cries every day, and no gambler loses every day'."
[Shizu-cute]: "Poor Gagar... what 'ungodly' matchmaking."
(Gagar: Sigh... my life is worthless anyway.)
(Attia: I'm bored... Gagar, go out and get hit.)
[Gudako]: "Are there any strong weapons?"
[Star Forger]: "There are. When Gagar falls, Attia pulls out his 'Moon-Slaying Twin Blades' and continues to gamble on that 5%."
Gagar's fame... was single-handedly built by Attia.
[Tsukasa Kadoya]: "This Attia guy is a real gambler. I'm impressed."
[Ghost of the Uchiha]: "He really is. Hashirama gambles in a casino. This Attia gambles on the battlefield. He's literally betting his life on that probability."
[Miss Pink Elf♪]: "That's probably 'protagonist-halo' for you. Otherwise, Attia would have been 'destroyed' long ago♪."
[Galactic Baseballer]: "I have an idea! If one Gagar has a 5% chance... then twenty Gagars... wouldn't that be a 100% chance?"
Ruan Mei didn't know what to say. Is... that how probability works?
[Monkey D. Kizaru]: "In the face of absolute power, it doesn't matter how many 'small-fry' you have. They're all just trash."
For example, a strong Conqueror's Haki blast... it doesn't matter how many people you have. If they can't take it, they all go down.
[Brother Scorching Sun]: "I have a question. The Aeons from our universe... what level would they be in the Seer universe?"
[Star Forger]: "Is there a need to compare?"
The Aeons aren't weak, but... the Seer universe is full of monsters.
If an Aeon went to the Seer universe... Di'en (a villain) would probably see them and just say, "Low-level spirit."
What kind of matchmaking is this? There's no point comparing.
Spectra-Onion: "Spirits... combined with 'concepts'? I've seen many. The solution is simple and crude."
[Brother Scorching Sun]: "...Is the gap really that big?"
Bai'e could tell... Spectra genuinely didn't care about Aeons. They weren't even interesting enough to make him want to fight.
...
Seasoning is sprinkled... the aroma fills the air.
Jiro and the others returned. The "souvenir" they brought back was... Nitros of various colors. Master... still loves his 'little lizards'.
"Master, you ran into quite a few Nitros," Kenji said, surprised.
Kenji hadn't seen a single Nitro while exploring space, but Jiro had just brought back a dozen.
"Hic~" Jiro laughed nonchalantly. "It was a coincidence. I just happened to see this group of 'little lizards' having a picnic on a planet, so I went to say 'hi'."
"They... attacked first. I just... defended myself."
Kenji sweated. The Nitros probably did attack first... but that was definitely part of your plan, Master. 'Fishing for a 'law enforcement' (fight)'.
Not all Nitros are like Kaka, who can communicate. They would definitely attack a stranger.
"Hurry up and try it. These are 'little lizards' from space. They have a flavor the Earth ones don't."
Kenji nodded. He tore a piece of back-meat from a Nitro and put it in his mouth, chewing slowly.
"The texture is similar to the one I ate before, but the taste is different. It must be because of the space ingredients they ate," Kenji commented.
The flavor was better. Tasted like chicken... but not crunchy.
"See? These 'little lizards' aren't easy to find. They're a delicacy," Jiro said, taking a swig of sake and a bite of roasted Nitro, enjoying life.
Sake and roasted Nitro... a perfect combination.
"Elysia, you're not eating?" Kenji asked.
Elysia glanced at the living Nitro nearby, shook her head, and said, "I'll pass. I'm not... interested in this ingredient♪."
The Nitro's appearance was just too weird. It didn't give her any appetite.
