S-2878 • L3 Sintoluna • D13 Tramabe
"Sintoluna tunes sky and tide. Tramabe weaves a signal in high light. The word finds its exact tone. The path keeps shining, whole."
Half a lunation had passed since our dinner. My Enchantress gathered her veils, but still allowed a free dance. Being beside Maia, as instinctive as breathing.
She still avoided talking about herself, but something very subtle, indefinable, had changed between us. A new balance. Tenuous. Present.
I had just collected samples of her blood.
"Do you want to have a drink with me?" The words came from pure feeling. It was out. My heart skipped a beat. Was I breathing? I don't even know.
Maia tilted her head. A crooked smile. "Wanna go to a bar?"
"I don't think so. After that night, I feel uncomfortable in those places. I want to relax. In peace. Work has been… stressful." I rubbed my forehead, sighing deeply.
She brought her face closer. Her amber gaze moved over me at a rhythm all her own. Trying to decipher something I myself misunderstood. "Trying to get me drunk? Tsk, I expected anything but that from you."
I was caught off guard. "N-no. Of course not. Just… ah, forget it." I turned my face away, awkward.
Maia chuckled. "Hey, let's do it. I prefer quiet places too." She stretched her arms overhead like a lazy cat. "Next waning moon, at ten. Sound good?"
Maia said yes. Right away.
My stomach twisted in a strange way.
Fear? Anticipation?
The hidden danced before me, veiled.
