Before Danzō Crashing Out — Root Headquarters
Danzo Shimura sat alone in the dim silence of his underground base. Flickering torches cast long shadows against the stone walls, dancing like whispers of the dead.
He was calm.
At peace.
Which, for Danzo, meant he was plotting something monstrous.
"Report," he ordered flatly.
Three Root agents knelt before him, masked and silent. One of them spoke, voice mechanical from suppression seals:
"We've intercepted information from the Hokage's office. The Uchiha boy has been growing unstable. Civilian sentiment remains unpredictable. Danzo-sama, shall we—"
Zzzzt—
The sentence died on his tongue.
A faint ripple of air... the barest flicker of distortion, passed through the chamber.
And then he was there.
A masked figure, crouched casually on top of a nearby support beam like he'd always been there, his single eye gleaming beneath the swirling orange mask.
Danzo's visible eye narrowed slightly as he glanced toward the intruder on the beam but he didn't rise. Instead, he simply turned his head, calmly, and spoke one word:
"Torune."
The man in black, his face obscured by high-collared cloth and tinted goggles, stepped forward in silence. The soft rustle of his trench coat was the only sound he made.
"Fu."
A shinobi with short-cropped hair and a cold expression adjusted his Yamanaka headpiece, already pulling a kunai from his sleeve. His other hand flashed through a rapid set of signs.
The two Root operatives moved in sync... no wasted motion, no words.
Fu's mind already extended outward, invisible threads of his Mind Body Disturbance Technique ready to take control of the enemy's limbs.
Torune leapt forward low to the ground, his palm glowing faintly — the microscopic nano-sized destruction bugs of the Aburame clan swarming under his skin, ready to melt anything they touched.
Obito tilted his head, amused.
"Ah. So it's those two. The mindfucker and the biohazard."
But Obito didn't have the mind to play with them like he did in the anime. Killing them would've been too much of a loss here.
Obito's Sharingan spun.
And in the span of a heartbeat, the two Root agents' bodies jerked violently mid-strike.
Then their forms collapsed to the ground.
Inside the Genjutsu, Obito had generously gifted them some quality time… with a tentacle monster. They must be getting good treatment in there, he thought wickedly.
His gaze shifted toward Danzo, who was already preparing to fight.
Danzo's fingers subtly twitched beneath his robe. His eye narrowed. "Uchiha…"
"Nice security system you've got, old bastard," Obito said lazily, leaping down from the beam and landing without a sound. "Real cutting-edge stuff. Unfortunately for you, I've already seen the blueprint."
"You dare invade this stronghold…?" Danzo's voice remained calm, but inside, he was already planning — either to catch Obito off guard… or to simply run away.
Obito ignored him.
He casually walked past the frozen Root members, trailing one hand along their shoulders like he was inspecting meat in a butcher shop.
"I thought you'd have better insurance," he mused, now standing in front of Danzo. "But I guess even paranoid fossils get comfy when they think no one's watching."
Danzo's eye narrowed slightly.
Then—he launched forward.
'It's now… this guy actually let his guard down. What a foolish act.'
His hand, coated in Wind Style chakra, surged forward in a precise strike—stopping just an inch from Obito's eye.
But then...
Obito's Eternal Mangekyō spun and gloved.
And in the very next instant, Danzo's world collapsed.
--
Danzo was kneeling on the ground, his body stiff and lifeless inside the illusion.
Obito looked at him for a moment and commented with a faint smirk, "Man, you look like someone who just realized they're not the main character."
Then he walked forward, his footsteps echoing through the silent chamber, and moved up to Danzo's chair.
He sat down calmly, one hand resting on the armrest, the other against the side of his face.
Tilting his head slightly, his crimson eye gleamed faintly beneath the mask.
"Hmm... now that this is done, the next thing is to watch the show."
Obito's plan was simple — next, he was going to buff Danzo by giving him some red items and a bit of Wood Style in between, then let him and the Root attack Konoha.
Danzo would get his wish fulfilled — gaining the Sharingan and Wood Style — only to use them in a plan that would brand him a traitor to the village, accomplishing nothing and losing everything in the process.
This was a promise Obito had once made to Kushina… on an occasion when his mind was hijacked by his lower body — kidding, he just wanted to have some fun.
"So… sorry, Danzo. I was just bored," Obito said casually to Danzo, who still had consciousness but couldn't disobey his will.
After a while...
Obito looked at Danzō, who was now fully buffed by him, and nodded in satisfaction.
"Well damn, this Danzo actually has some aura."
The Danzō in front of him had Sharingan eyes embedded all over his arm like Thanos Infinity Gauntlet and to top it off, Wood Style abilities, with Hashirama's face planted on his neck.
"That's so romantic," Obito commented casually, voice laced with amusement.
He knew Danzo could hear him.
He just didn't care and he had no intentions of knowing what Danzo thought.
Inside his mind, Danzō was roaring madly — a storm of rage and humiliation.
He wanted to resist.
He tried to.
But he couldn't.
His will was still trapped under Obito's thumb.
And the only thing worse than being controlled...
...was being laughed at while it happened.
"Kukukuku… now my Pokémon is ready to face the world…" Obito laughed — then suddenly coughed, clearly embarrassed.
"…When the hell did I get that Tobi problem?"
"Go wild, Danzō. Make the Konoha village great again," Obito said again with a smirk as he patted Danzo's shoulder like a proud coach sending in his MVP.
Then, without another word, Obito vanished into the swirling void of Kamui space, leaving behind only silence.
Danzo remained there, standing stiffly… his chakra simmering, his body upgraded, empowered...
But inside?
He was trembling.
His thoughts were a storm of despair and humiliation, screaming and thrashing like a rat in a cage.

At Present
Wind Release: Vacuum Great Sphere! is a B‑rank jutsu. It is a powerful, offensive technique that compresses and expels a large, single sphere of wind chakra — a stronger version of the basic "Vacuum Sphere" technique.
Now, Danzō — strengthened by Obito — had already surpassed his original level of Wind Release, making the move even more devastating.
"Boom—!"
A wind sphere, pulsing with power, erupted with a terrifying, penetrating force. It pierced straight through Might Guy's abdomen.
And the devastation didn't stop there.
The brutal force continued onward, shattering Koharu Utatane's head before she could even react.
It then blasted through the Hokage's office building, smashing into the Hokage Rock itself.
The Hokage faces on the rock trembled, cracks spidered out, and chunks collapsed.
"Th—This…!" Guy's wide eyes were full of disbelief. He never once imagined he'd be ambushed in the very heart of Konoha's power.
"Danzo! Are you insane!? Koharu was our comrade! You actually—!" Homura Mitokado roared, spittle flying as his face twitched and he took a step backward.
"Guy! Damn it… what's going on with you, Danzo!?" Kakashi's face went dark as he moved toward Guy.
The conference room dissolved into chaos. People stared in stunned horror at Might Guy collapsing and Koharu's lifeless body.
Danzo had always been ruthless, yes — but he was still Konoha's elder, a man obsessed with becoming Hokage. Why would he suddenly massacre allies in the open?
"Be careful, everyone!" Hiruzen Sarutobi said suddenly, his face heavy. He knew Danzo's greed, his obsession but he had never expected such a sudden, brazen attack.
And what made Hiruzen even more uneasy was the enormous chakra radiating from the attacker.
Did he succeed in his experiment? the Third Hokage thought. Danzo had always coveted the Sharingan and Wood Style and now, looking at him, it seemed possible he'd actually pulled it off.
Danzō's hands rose again, calm and fluid… almost like a dancer swaying through the rhythm of chaos.
"Wood Style: Thorn Binding Burial—"
Thick wooden roots burst violently from the ground, twisting and spearing upward like a forest from hell. The jutsu generated a crushing vacuum, dragging everything toward the vortex of thorns at the center.
"Boom! Boom! Boom—!!"
Walls imploded. Support beams shattered into splinters. The floor buckled.
Homura Mitokado tried to leap back—too late.
"AHHH!" he screamed as a massive wooden spike skewered him mid-air. The sharpened root burst clean through his stomach, branching out violently from within and turning his body into a grotesque, bloody mess.
His twitching corpse dropped to the floor like a rag doll.
"Danzō!! You've gone too far!!" Hiruzen Sarutobi roared, his fury exploding as he finished a high-speed hand seal.
"Fire Style: Fire Dragon Flame Bullet!!"
The A-rank fire jutsu detonated against Danzō's position, sending the Root leader crashing through the Hokage building wall and out into open air.
"Kakashi!!" Hiruzen shouted, his voice ringing through the chaos. "Take Guy to safety and notify the others immediately! I want the full Ino-Shika-Chō formation deployed!"
Kakashi's face turned grim, the usual lazy calm replaced by hardened focus. He gave a quick nod.
"Understood."
In the next instant, he vanished in a blur, scooping up the wounded Might Guy and disappearing with high-speed shunshin.
Just as they left...
Whoosh—whoosh—whoosh—!!
A dozen masked ANBU Black Ops shinobi dropped down around Hiruzen, their presence swift and silent, forming a defensive perimeter with flawless coordination.
"Awaiting orders, Lord Third!" one of them said, voice clipped through his porcelain mask.
Meanwhile, below
Amid the rubble and smoke at the base of the building, Danzō calmly dusted off his sleeves, completely unharmed by the A-rank blast. Not even a scorch mark on him.
Behind him, Root ninjas emerged like shadows. A perfect assassination squad, ready to strike without hesitation.
The two sides locked eyes — ANBU vs. Root.
Konoha's present vs. its buried rot.
Above, Hiruzen's voice broke the silence, trembling with both rage and sorrow.
"Why, Danzō…?" he asked, his jaw clenched. "I didn't expect you to fall this low…"
"Hmph." Danzō's lone Sharingan glinted beneath the shadows of his bandages. "Hiruzen… you were never suitable to be the Hokage."
He stepped forward, his tone cold and certain.
"The Second Hokage made a mistake by choosing you. That mistake… will be corrected today."
"This village," he continued, raising his arm, "doesn't need a soft and indecisive leader who clings to sentimental bonds."
"You...!" Hiruzen growled, chakra surging. He opened his mouth to retort
"Enough of this nonsense," Danzō cut him off flatly, with a motion of his hand.
"Root—attack."
