Chapter 549 - BRC Chapter 544 A World of Chaos

"I'll close the door now."

The man, with a gun pressed against him, showed no sign of fear. He walked to the back and directly closed the metal door, which offered no defense whatsoever.

Then he returned to the bed.

From his old, tattered clothes, he pulled out a label-less can of food and threw it onto the nearby table.

"Damn it, it's this dead human meat again!!"

Yari's face was filled with displeasure, but she still tossed her weapon aside. Clearly, although this stuff wasn't great, it was still "consumable" once.

She squatted down and stammered, "Jenick, if you do this again next time, I'll blow your brains out."

"Tsk… I don't even know if I'll live to see tomorrow. Dying by your hand wouldn't be so bad. Stop talking, hurry up, I still have to go to work later."

Yang Tao felt his spirit was inexplicably violated. Even though he didn't know what kind of world this was, he knew this world couldn't be simply described as chaotic.

Even a 'prostitute' carried a gun, and this guy named Jenick wasn't a pushover either. Even with a gun pressed against his vitals, he showed no panic, as if everything was commonplace.

A few minutes later…

Yes, just a few minutes later, Yari had eaten her fill. Jenick, while holstering his gun, said, "Fuck, you really got off cheap, you bitch…"

"Next time, goddamn it, take care of yourself! I'll just watch!"

Jenick didn't say anything after being rebuked. He pulled up his pants, turned around, opened the door, and was about to leave.

'It's finally goddamn over!'

Just as Yang Tao thought he could observe this world, there was a gunshot.

The man, who had just opened the door and walked out a few steps, had his head burst open like a watermelon.

Some red and white brain matter splattered into the room. Instantly, gunshots erupted outside, crackling like fireworks on New Year's Day.

Yari was incredibly fast. She immediately grabbed her gun and then closed the door.

She huddled in a corner of the room, gun in hand. Her posture indicated that if anyone came in, she would pull the trigger and kill them immediately…

"Damn it, another customer dead!"

As time passed, the gunshots outside became scarcer. Yari cursed and looked around, then pulled out a rolled cigarette from the corner of the bed and lit it.

Amidst the smoke, Yari stood up, picked up a pair of pants by the bed, and put them on. After putting on a pair of leather boots, she walked to the door, listened for a moment, and once she confirmed there were no gunshots, she walked out.

The body of the man who had died at the door was already gone, leaving only some disgusting traces to prove that it wasn't an illusion just now.

"Seriously, they didn't even leave me any meat. I should have just shot him earlier."

Such vicious words refreshed Yang Tao's perception, who had been silently observing all of this.

He originally thought he was indifferent enough to life, but compared to the people here, he was practically a living saint.

He didn't need to guess that the man's body must have been picked up and used as food.

'This world seems a bit interesting!'

The environment outside the door was incredibly dim, with only a few lights providing basic necessities.

There were thick pipes everywhere, but Yang Tao, upon closer inspection, noticed that the recent gunfight hadn't managed to damage the pipes here, at most leaving some dents on them…

Now there were two possibilities: one, the weapons just now weren't powerful; two, the material of these pipes was extraordinary.

The surrounding environment was a combination of Backrooms Level 2 The Abandoned Public Zone and Level 3 The Power Plant. However, compared to those two levels of the Backrooms, the environment here was even harsher.

Some colored droplets fell from the ceiling, forming puddles of various colors on the ground.

Poisonous, even highly poisonous!

Even the air was filled with a faint mist. Yang Tao saw some people even wearing oxygen masks, but more people had already adapted to the environment here.

But…

Yang Tao noticed that those who didn't wear gas masks all had some degree of mutation.

Rotting, swollen, missing limbs, and incomplete facial features were common.

Yari set off in one direction, her boots making crisp sounds on the metal grating. Through the grating, Yang Tao could vaguely see many layers below.

Just then, Yang Tao heard a faint, indistinct voice.

As he wondered, another humanoid figure appeared beside him.

"Is this a projection?"

Yang Tao withdrew his hand from Yari's projection, and the scene from the other world immediately vanished.

When Yang Tao put his hand into the projection of the person next to him, the scene before his eyes suddenly changed.

Explosions, flames, and overwhelming green monsters.

"Bang!"

A green creature covered in random metal scraps had a hole blown through its body by a gun, but no blood seeped from the wound.

Smoke filled the battlefield. All around were soldiers wearing identical armor, holding strange-looking long guns.

"Damn it! They're charging! Open fire!"

"Watch out!"

"Be careful to dodge."

Puff.

An energy projectile directly splattered onto 'him,' and the being he had 'possessed' instantly turned into a pool of blood.

This was just one corner of a brutal battlefield.

The scene vanished.

Yang Tao looked at the glowing figure still present before him. After death, this figure seemed to have become a bit brighter, though still far less than Yari's just now.

Yang Tao: "..."

He just died?

Yang Tao and the glowing figure before him stared at each other.

Suddenly, the glowing figure made a 'sound' and asked, "Where is this?"

This time it was Yang Tao's turn to be stunned.

"You can see me?"

The figure nodded.

"I just got here too. I don't know where this is either. There are monsters everywhere, and no one I can communicate with."

When those monsters saw him, they were all full of malice.

The other party fell silent, not knowing what to say for a moment. However, he looked down at his own body and said with some difficulty, "My… my body, why has it become like this?"

"You're already dead. It's good enough that a shadow remains. Don't think too much. I highly suspect this is the Nether, and you are currently in a soul state."

Yang Tao comforted him. Compared to having nothing after death, he thought it was quite good to have a soul remaining. Maybe he could even become a ghost cultivator.

However, the other party's next sentence immediately silenced him.

"By the Emperor, how could this be the Nether!!"

"Brother, I take back what I just said. I think it's better if you're annihilated right now."

Damn it, a Warhammer 40k world. Although he didn't understand the Warhammer 40k world, he knew some basic information.

His assessment was that transmigrating to this place was worse than transmigrating to the Backrooms.

At least the Backrooms offered a glimmer of hope, but an ordinary transmigrator running into this Warhammer 40k world would probably die as soon as he arrived.

His mind was full of forbidden knowledge.

The Chaos Gods would come to talk to him immediately, and no matter what, they would reserve a place for him in the Warp.

And he now understood where he was. Some questions also disappeared with the clarity of the world he was in.

'Damn it, the Warp… how do I play this?'

The only good news was that he hadn't been immediately sought out by the Chaos Gods after coming here.

This indicated that his golden finger was still effective; otherwise, with his mental state, he would have been corrupted by Slaanesh immediately.
