Hela took a deep breath. Watching this scene play out before her eyes, she felt a twinge of sourness.
She thought to herself, maybe her willpower wasn't as strong as her sister's. She had been too guilty to go to the Central Garden today, afraid to face her in-laws and also afraid to face Luis's wife.
Now, even meeting her daughter-in-law made her feel a bit uncomfortable, which was why she had specifically asked her sister to go in her place today.
But her sister was perfectly at ease, chatting and laughing with the man's wife, building a pretty good relationship. Just based on that mental fortitude, Hela felt she had to concede defeat.
