One minute earlier.
On the frozen tsunami wall—
The Impel Down escapees were still reeling from the shock of witnessing the Straw Hat Trio drive back two Marine Admirals.
Straw Hat Luffy's eyes suddenly lit up. He had an idea—and it seemed like a solid one.
First, they would free the battleship from the ice.
Then, they'd ride it down the curve of the frozen tsunami as if it were a giant slide.
They'd land steadily on the ground below—
and from there, circle around to break directly into the battlefield.
It was a fine plan.
Even Jinbe, the Knight of the Sea, and Crocodile gave approving nods.
But… reality was cruel.
When they actually attempted Luffy's "brilliant" strategy, Crocodile and the others quickly realized—
they must have been kicked in the head to believe it would work.
By the time they agreed to try, it was already too late.
In the very first step, Luffy had pushed too hard—
shattering the entire frozen tsunami wall.
The result—
Led by Luffy, the Impel Down escapee squad plummeted from the sky straight into the battlefield!
"Ngwaaahhhh—!"
"This is bad! This is bad! This is BAD!"
"We're gonna die! This time we're really gonna die!"
Their screams of terror, despair, and regret rang out over the battlefield.
The sudden, strange noise from above made everyone—Marines and pirates alike—pause their fighting and look up in curiosity.
"What the…? Another ship is falling from the sky?!"
"Damn it, is this another of Whitebeard's tricks?!"
"That's the monstrous Straw Hat Luffy's doing—so who's it gonna be this time?"
The elite Marines ground their teeth, convinced it was another Whitebeard tactic—after all, they hadn't prepared any such maneuver themselves.
On the pirates' side, the Whitebeard crew also frowned in suspicion.
"A Marine battleship… falling from above?!"
"This has to be a secret Navy attack!"
"They must have hidden a ship up there to drop it on us!"
"Nice idea, but too bad for them—their plan's falling apart!"
But this battleship wasn't dropping anywhere near cannon range of either side.
The battlefield's noise swelled again, both sides convinced they were in the right—adding yet another layer of chaos to the already brutal war.
At that moment, only two groups knew the truth.
One was the Revolutionary Army squad hidden beneath the plaza inside Marineford Bay.
"They're here! Luffy from two years ago, and Mr. Ivan too!" Sabo said with excitement.
"Escaped convicts from Impel Down, huh? Looks like the battle's about to get even messier," said Lindbergh with anticipation.
"Little Ivan's finally making his entrance!" the giant shemale Morley added with a wink.
"Our time to act is getting close," Karasu said quietly.
The other group was at the heart of the frozen battlefield.
"Luffy—it looks like they've arrived," Jinbe said, a rare smile crossing his weathered face.
"To think we'd meet my Luffy from two years ago…"
"Oh-ho~ Finally here, huh?"
"Slower than expected!"
"Two years ago Luffy, hahaha—this will be interesting!"
"When he sees us here, he's gonna freak out!"
"I wonder what his face will look like?"
Usopp, Sanji, Franky, Nami, Zoro, and Brook could barely contain their excitement, eager to surprise their younger captain.
Meanwhile, in the sky above Marineford—
"The f***, the f***, the f***! Straw Hat Luffy, you've never been reliable! Trusting your plan makes me feel like an idiot!" Buggy howled, his Haoshoku aura flaring as he screamed.
"I knew this would end badly! My bad feeling was right!" cried Mr. 3 Galdino in panic.
"All of this is because of that damned okama!" Crocodile growled, his face dark.
"Oh, Croco-boy, talking bad about me in public? Should I leak your little secret to the newspapers?" Ivankov teased with a sly smile.
Crocodile fell silent instantly.
"Forget everything else, we'll be fine! I'm rubber—falling won't hurt me!" Luffy grinned.
"Don't think you surviving means the rest of us will! Think of something!" Galdino snapped, on the verge of a breakdown.
"Please! Anyone! Help us stop this thing!" Ivankov's face distorted as the wind tore at it.
The Impel Down squad's sudden plummet brought the fighting on the battlefield to a momentary halt—sparking a round of wild speculation.
Both Marines and pirates quickly came to the same conclusion—
The enemy's surprise attack had backfired!
From such a height, even if the battleship didn't kill them, the impact would cripple everyone aboard.
But fate had other plans.
Following the ship's falling path, everyone's eyes caught sight of a massive hole in the ice—created earlier when Whitebeard's 3rd Division Commander, Diamond Jozu, had smashed through to the sea below.
Now, that hole was filled with seawater.
With a tremendous splash, the battleship and its hundreds of Impel Down escapees plunged into the icy sea.
Miraculously—every one of them survived!
Luffy, who had nearly drowned, was hauled up onto the deck by Jinbe.
Other Devil Fruit users were rescued by their non-fruit allies.
The shattered, capsized battleship spilled its passengers onto the ice.
Among them: Luffy, Ivankov, Buggy, Crocodile, and scores of Impel Down prisoners.
From another crack in the ice, several women in prison uniforms surfaced, climbing aboard by the mast.
Only now did the Marines and Whitebeard pirates realize—
this squad from the sky was none other than the greatest escape in Impel Down's 800-year history.
Since its founding, the underwater prison had been considered inescapable.
Aside from the Golden Lion Shiki's flight twenty years ago, no one had ever broken out.
Until now.
Hundreds of escaped convicts from the world's most secure prison had appeared on Marineford's battlefield.
It was a global earthquake of an event—one of the three great shocks of the war.
And yet—
Neither the Marineford elites, nor the watching crowds and reporters in Sabaody Archipelago, were focused on the prison break.
Because before their eyes…
something even more shocking was about to unfold.
It was him—
The Pirate, Straw Hat Luffy!!!
Another Straw Hat kid?!
A second Straw Hat Luffy—appearing on the battlefield of the Summit War!!!
Sabaody Archipelago.
"F—f—f—f—!"
"Are my eyes playing tricks on me?!"
"Have I gone mad today?!"
"Another… another… another Straw Hat kid?!"
"What in the world is going on here?!"
"Why are there two Straw Hat Luffys?!"
"Don't tell me… they're actually twin brothers?!"
"And it's not just Luffy—look, it's the Knight of the Sea Jinbe too!"
"There are two of him as well?!"
"I've never heard of Jinbe having a twin brother!"
On the giant broadcast screens, the ruined Marine warship revealed both the second Straw Hat Luffy and a second Jinbe.
Tens of thousands in the plaza—civilians and every single reporter—were struck speechless yet again.
"This is crazy—two Straw Hat Luffys and two Jinbes!"
Mafia Godfather Capone Bege squinted hard, trying to make sense of it.
"What kind of coincidence is this? Luffy's a twin, Jinbe's a twin, and they both just happen to appear in the war at the exact same time?!" Mad Monk Urouge shook his head.
"So that's it… I knew it," Jewelry Bonney said, as if something had clicked. "I said that Fifth Emperor Luffy was way too strong—no one could get that powerful in just ten days… so that girl must be his daughter!"
"So… the Luffy who just appeared now is the real one? Does that mean the one who beat the Vice Admiral and injured the Admiral was a fake?" someone wondered aloud.
"Then the question is… who's impersonating Straw Hat Luffy?
And why would someone with Admiral-level strength disguise themselves as a rookie pirate?!"
The questions piled up like a mountain, giving everyone a headache.
"Two Straw Hat Luffys…?"
Even among the Beasts Pirates, King the Conflagration—the crew's second-in-command and one of the world's top fighters—was baffled.
Beneath his fearsome mask, his handsome face twitched involuntarily.
The appearance of a second Straw Hat Luffy completely shattered his earlier theory, making the entire incident even harder to untangle.
"Two Yamatos, two Straw Hat Luffys, and Jinbe too… could it be…?"
A thought struck King. He quickly pulled a Den Den Mushi from his coat.
Purururu… click.
"Kaidō—you won't believe this. Something interesting just happened!!!"
And it wasn't just Sabaody.
On the execution platform—
"Luf… Luffy!!! Oi oi oi—!" Ace's voice cracked with emotion as he looked at the Luffy falling from the sky.
Back when he was imprisoned in Impel Down, Ace had heard rumors that his reckless little brother had invaded the great prison.
But in the end, he never saw him.
Luffy's mysterious disappearance had left Ace deeply worried, yet powerless to act.
When he finally saw his younger brother and Jinbe arrive together earlier, it felt like a massive weight had been lifted from his chest.
And now—
Another Luffy, another Jinbe…
Ace's mind spun. He couldn't make sense of it at all.
And he wasn't the only one—
Across the battlefield, Marines and pirates alike—hundreds of thousands strong—were completely thrown into confusion.
"Oaahahaha! Two Luffys?! What the hell is going on? Are they really twins?!"
"Damn that Dragon brat! To think he'd hide something this big from me!" Vice Admiral Garp clutched his head, his weathered face twisted in shock.
Seeing him in that state, even Fleet Admiral Sengoku, who had been ready to pressure him for answers, could only grind his teeth in silence.
"I see… so that's how it is!"
Former Admiral Zephyr's eyes gleamed, his old face lighting up with understanding.
"Zephyr, what do you mean?" Sengoku asked quickly.
"Look closely, Sengoku. The newly arrived Straw Hat kid and the one over there with Emperor-level strength—they may look identical, but there are subtle differences. That's the mark of growth."
A sharp glint shone in Zephyr's eyes.
"You mean…?" Sengoku's eyes widened as realization hit.
"No… no, impossible! Absolutely impossible! Time can only move forward! How could someone from the future come back to the past?!" Sengoku shook his head, unwilling to believe it.
But that was the truth.
"Alala… I thought as much. No one could grow that much in such a short time. So it's not the same person after all. That means… Straw Hat Luffy, Nico Robin, and the rest of them…"
Admiral Aokiji's gaze lingered on the Straw Hats from two years later. Then, as if considering the implications, his expression shifted slightly.
"Power from the future, huh? That's terrifying~"
Admiral Kizaru, still crossing blows with the Straw Hats, also seemed to have guessed part of the truth.
"Straw Hat Luffy! Grandson of the Hero Garp! Son of the Revolutionary Dragon! Hmph… I don't care how many of you there are—none of you are leaving here alive!" Admiral Akainu said coldly.
"Kurararara! Now this is getting interesting!" Whitebeard laughed heartily.
Still, among the hundreds of thousands present, only a handful truly understood what was going on.
"Smoker-san, what in the world is happening?" asked Tashigi, adjusting her glasses.
"Why are there two Straw Hat Luffys? Tina doesn't get it!" said Marine Captain Hina in disbelief.
"How should I know?!" Smoker grumbled.
"I must be dreaming," Helmeppo muttered. "That's the only way I'd be seeing two Luffys…"
"No, Helmeppo—it's real! There really are two Luffy-sans!" Coby insisted.
"This is madness—pure madness!" Shichibukai Gecko Moria shook his head.
"Fufufufu… I told you something was off. There's no way a mere Supernova could have Admiral-level strength. Every last one of those Straw Hats is suspicious!" Doflamingo said, feeling oddly relieved.
Before, seeing a rookie crew capable of fighting two Admirals at once had made him uneasy—like he was about to be crushed under the wave of the next generation.
Now, with the truth clear, his mind was at ease. The Supernovas were still just Supernovas.
As for the Fifth Emperor's crew…
"So that's your future self, Roronoa? Impressive," the world's greatest swordsman, Dracule Mihawk, said, his hawk-like eyes alight with interest.
And no one was more delighted by this bizarre phenomenon than the Pirate Empress, Boa Hancock.
"Two Luffys… no matter which one is real, that's double the joy! Ah~"
Her mind spun with visions of marrying both Luffys at once, her expression bordering on insanity.
"Father… wh-what is going on?! Why does Ace have two little brothers now?! And Jinbe—he doesn't have a twin either!"
"Which ones are the real ones?!"
Marco, Jozu, and Vista turned to Whitebeard for answers.
"Kurararara! If you want the truth, ask them yourselves. It might just be even crazier than you imagine," Whitebeard replied with a knowing grin.
