Chapter 3 - 3. System Unlocks

Tulok POV

Kya, Kanna and Katara were brought to my ship as per my orders. That's where I am staying till every family here has a proper home and my palace construction could start.

Sokka was brought to another ship and told his whole family was killed in the raid and how we avenged his family. Sokka already dreamt of being a warrior and easily agreed to join the academy and would soon be transported to the archipelago the fifth nation used to call home, which will turn into a military base and training academy for our soldiers. Maybe in future, I will tell him the truth, but for now he wouldn't be returning for a long time.

Back to the three women, I was surprised to see that Kanna is not a old hag but a MILF in her late 40s. That was a surprise but not a big one because people marry young here, around 16-18, and have children as soon as they could. Considering Hakoda himself was in his late 20s, it explains her looks.

"Now listen, all of you and I will not repeat myself. You two," I said pointing at Kya and Kanna "will work as maids, or in other words, slaves, for me, what does that mean, you will always be at my beck and call, fulfill any order I give youbwithout question asap, I will not tolerate any excuses. Meanwhile, she will learn under the masters and will work as a slave in her free time. If she proved herself useful, she may even rise out of her status as a slave. Any questions?"

Seeing both of them shake their heads in no, meanwhile Katara looked confused, I gave a nod. Is snapped my fingers twice and two women came inside instantly as if they were waiting outside just to be called. They were wearing blue skimpy maid outfit and somehow still standing normally in this cold.

"These two will show you your quarters and explain your duties." I told them and sent them off.

As soon as the door closed, I fell on the bed tired to the bone. Not from the fighting or waiting, nope. From bloodbending. Yes, Hakoda was not stupid enough to attack me. He would have most likely taken my offer for his people wellbeing actually.

But I didn't want that. In the show, things didn't work out well for Hakoda when he vouched for that Northern Tribe woman, his brother-in-arms named him a traitor. But now I have put my fear in their heart and shown my benevolence. But that's not the only reason for killing Hakoda.

The actual reason is-

Initiation Task:

Eliminate and Takeover!

You have been transported to A:TLA world. To unlock the system, Eliminate the leader of a key location and become the ruler of the location.

Reward: Full System Function Unlock, A reward based on the location you takeover.

Status: Complete

Reward: Full System Function Unlocked.

Map and Blueprint of Wolf Cove 170 AG, much more inspired by Southern Tribe Capital (Above and Below ground with plans for further expansion as population and economy grows).

Finally, this stupid system unlocked. Since the day I have been reborn here, my first goal was to complete this quest. A significant location, yeah like that's so easy, with benders protecting every significant location in the show. The only location where I can walk over and declare myself King and doesn't have benders other than a young one who can barely move a little water is the Southern Water Tribe, and Wolf Cove will become it's future capital, so it is a very significant location.

But the main problem was eliminating it's leader, that's what was holding me back. From show I know Hakoda was smart and he is unlikely to attack any waterbender. I can orchestrate his death and take over, but he is smart and skilled enough to get out of most situation and I didn't knew of plot armor was a thing.

So I waited and bide my time, training my bloodbending to a level that I can control someone body and make them do whatever I want as if they were possessed by a ghost. Yes since the moment I proposed my alliance, Hakoda was under my control, every word he spoke, every action he took was under my control.

So he didn't attack me to preserve his power, he attacked me because I made him do so. I made him speak those words that would make him a traitor in everyone's eyes now. I had to eliminate him, otherwise the system wouldn't have unlocked, so I decided to use his death to further my position as the leader.

Now let's see what this system has for me.

User Guide

This system is a very basic gamer system. It doesn't have stats or shop or even any gacha. The Status would show your name, ethnicity, age, titles, profession, bending element and a brief description of you.

You wouldn't be given a Gamer's Mind and Gamer's Body Skill or ID Create and ID Destroy Skill. You will be given the Observe Skill but it will show the same things as shown in your status, the rest you will have to learn to judge on your own.

There are no levels in this system, so you wouldn't get any experience from killing or completing quests. What you will get from quest rewards is knowledge, blueprints, resources etc. The rewards will not be extravagant and will be something that matches this world's power level and this time period's technological level. So you wouldn't be getting knowledge of how to make nukes or other fantasy world's OP weapons and artifacts in reward. You may get skills as reward, but you will have to train them yourself.

There will be no personal failure punishment for not being able to complete the quest but things that will happen due to it will happen. For ex: In a quest to stop Fire Nation and Fire Lord, if you fail it, you will not be punished by system, but if you are caught and put in prison, turned into a slave or killed, other benders are wiped out and the world becomes a colony of Fire Nation, than it is what will happen, not the doing of system. Essentially, you are not a slave of the system and that's why there is no Failure section in quest description.

The quest rewards can be claimed in the rewards section of the Interface. A reward once taken out can still be stored in the rewards section or in the inventory, it's upto you.

There is an inventory feature. The inventory is a total of 100 sq. ft. and will increase by 1 sq. ft. for every skill that rises in tier or quest completed. But you cannot store a living being other than plants in it and that's the only limitation to the inventory other than space. All things stored will be kept in a seprate dimension, not affected by time or space, so will be returned in the same condition as you stored them, but remember if you die, all the items in inventory will cease to exist, so you are advised to keep this in mind when storing them.

There is also a Skill tab, where you can see your skills. The skills are not majored in levels but tiers. The tiers being: Novice —> Intermediate —> Apprentice —> Journeyman —> Master —> Grandmaster (Legendary)

If you have any question about the world or system, you can ask about it in the Help tab.

Tulok the Second, named after the first King of the Fifth Nation, son of Argan and Sura. Your father spent his whole life reuniting the fractioned Fifth Nation. He died in a conflict with a small Fire Nation fleet. Your both parents being powerful waterbenders, you were almost guaranteed to be a powerful waterbender, which you proved and got recognised as a bending prodigy, mastering not only bending but helping refine the still developing Fifth Nation Style of waterbending (derived from Southern style with elements of North mixed in. A style that is both agressive and defensive according to the situation, unlike normal waterbending styles that are mostly defensive.) and armed and unarmed combat by age of 14. Now you have been crowned King of Fifth Nation and the first thing you did is takeover the Southern Water Tribe Capital.

I looked at quests tab, it had two section, Pending and Complete. Pending was empty and Complete had one, the Eliminate and Takeover one.

Rewards section had the blueprints and maps of Wolf Cove of 170 AG.

Inventory was empty. I tried putting some random junk and retrieving it, finding it is almost instantaneous. So I made some weapons of Ice and stored some of my normal metal weapons in it, like my throwing knives.

Ah! This system is very lacking but I like it. I never liked dealing with those stats and perks and what not. I rather like this one, do a quest, no penalty if you fail, the rewards are limited and within the power level of the world, so not being too op too soon.

I started to remove my clothes and getting ready for bed. It was past midnight and I am tired because of the bloodbending I did and it's not even full moon tonight.

As for why I was able to sleep naked in South Pole or why the two maids were able to wear skimpy clothes, it's because they are all waterbenders and I created a technique, a copy of the airbender technique of keeping them cold or warm according to environment.

I use a similiar concept using vapour to keep me cool or hot at all times. Keeping a film of vapours around my body at all times, whose temperature I could change to be cool or hot according to my needs. All the waterbenders under me learn this as a control excercise nowadays.

I also made a technique similiar to Toph's seismic sense using water in the air. Currently I have a radius of 5 metres only, but I am working on increasing it. It is a nice technique to have in military, specially for special forces that I will make in the next few decades – the population is not big enough to have waterbending special forces currently, and I have only 200-300 benders under me, most are southern who fled from raids (50 - 60%), some are those who are descendants of original fifth nation (30%) or those who later joined the various splinter faction (10 - 20%), and out of those 300 only 10% are master benders.

Back to topic, yes these skills will be taught in waterbending schools. The second one will surely be taught in military bending school. Yes, there are going to be two waterbending schools. One for civilian purposes and one for military purposes. Ofcourse, the civilian ones are also needed to defend the Tribe in case of attacks.

But all of this is for later, first I need my beauty sleep to work properly tommorow. Lots of scheming to do, so many plans to make, all this burden resting on the shoulders of little old me.
