Amir seriously considered crafting a set of armor for himself. With his current skills, it wasn't an impossible task.
However, the challenge was that wearing armor constantly would be too cumbersome, making him uncomfortable and drawing too much attention.
Unlike the Mandalorians, who always wore helmets, he could eventually reveal his identity by being too conspicuous.
Perhaps he could simply change outfits more frequently since he wouldn't be visiting such an icy planet often.
Nevertheless, the allure of armor was too strong for Amir to resist. He decided to make a set anyway, just for fun. As he observed his surroundings, he got excited about the idea.
Even without armor, he could create a sturdy mechanical exoskeleton for himself. It would be a huge help, even if it only covered his arms.
The Force had only slightly enhanced his arm strength.
After training for some time, he had mastered the technique of using the Force to overcome gravity, dramatically improving his jumping ability.
Using the same amount of force in his lower limbs allowed him to easily leap ten meters into the air. However, anything higher was still challenging. Still, he sensed there was room for improvement.
Additionally, overcoming the gravitational force acting on his body significantly increased his speed.
It was quite practical to create an exoskeleton to enhance the strength of his upper limbs.
Although he might be scolded by Obi-Wan for being barbaric, Amir had no objection to mechanical assistance.
It was just a matter of enhancing the functionality of his existing wrist guards.
In an emergency, if his emotions or willpower were disrupted, the Force might fail him. At that point, the importance of mechanical assistance became clear.
. . .
After scouting the area, Amir returned to the spacecraft, opened the hatch, walked to the warehouse, and brought out a cylindrical device.
It was a sonar-based detection device capable of scanning the terrain within a one-kilometer radius and automatically generating a three-dimensional map.
After walking a short distance, Amir placed the device near the snow-capped mountains, embedded it in the ice, and retreated to a higher vantage point. There, he observed the area through a telescope.
Many creatures can hear sound waves at frequencies imperceptible to humans, and some aggressive species may attack sources of sound that make them uncomfortable. This is quite common.
Amir observed from this position to prevent creatures from damaging the detector and interrupting the mapping process.
He also kept his distance to avoid being ambushed by powerful beasts, which could result in injury.
There were always many planets in the Outer Rim that had rarely been explored, especially barren planets like this one, covered in ice and snow. Although there might be minerals here, mining them would not be profitable.
Therefore, most of these places and creatures were unknown, and one had to remain vigilant at all times to ensure their own safety.
The detector takes about half an hour to operate. The clothing provides adequate insulation, and it is still daytime, so waiting here for a while should be fine.
BD-4 remained on Amir's back. At its height, a single jump would instantly bury it in snow.
If it became covered in snow, the melted water could damage its circuits.
Amir covered its head with a piece of cloth when he landed the spacecraft.
Once everything was ready, Amir crouched down in the snow and waited silently.
The snow continued to fall endlessly, soon covering his body with a thin white blanket. In half an hour, he would likely turn into a snowman.
But before half an hour had passed, Amir furrowed his brows.
He felt faint vibrations coming from the ground. Though faint, they were distinctly perceptible.
Amir quickly looked around. The snow-covered ground remained flat with the occasional mound protruding here and there. Everything was white and calm, unchanged from before.
This intensified Amir's sense of foreboding.
He remained calm and confirmed that his current position was still relatively safe. If anything happened, he could retreat to the spacecraft at any time.
Through the telescope, he saw several white mice cautiously peeking out of the snow. After confirming that it was safe, they quickly darted back into the snow and fled into the distance.
The faint tremors continued, but nothing unusual appeared in the surroundings.
"Beep, beep, beep!" BD-4 suddenly jumped onto Amir's shoulder.
Amir abruptly turned his head backward when he noticed something: a spaceship was speeding out of a crack in the ice shelf a hundred meters away.
Two massive, long, soft-bodied creatures hung from the spacecraft, thrashing and biting at the severely damaged hull.
The spaceship spun suddenly in midair, finally shaking off the creatures. Instead of falling straight down, however, the creatures spread their thin wings, which had grown from their backs, to cushion their descent. They smoothly re-entered the fissure.
Having escaped danger, the spaceship circled in the air once, spotted the Traveler nearby, and flew toward it.
Trailing thick smoke, the old cargo ship—which looked discarded by the Trade Union—fell, dragging two waves of snow behind it. It finally came to a stop not far in front of Amir.
Amir patted BD-4 and silently moved the lightsaber, which was hidden under his clothes, to a position where he could quickly draw it.
The scanner still needed a little more time, but there seemed to be no other issues.
Amir turned around and walked toward the cargo ship that had made the perilous landing.
The ship's hatch made mechanical clanging noises as it struggled to open, finally dropping down with a thud.
A black-haired human emerged from inside.
"Damn slugs! What the hell are you doing?" He cursed as he looked ahead and saw Amir, then shouted, "You, kid! How did you find this place? Why are you here?"
Amir looked at the stranger and didn't know how to respond.
"Can't you hear me? Huh?!"
After a moment, Amir replied from a distance, "I'm an archaeologist. I heard there's an ancient structure here."
He wanted to see if the man had any useful information.
"An archaeologist? Hahaha, are you joking?" The man stuffed his hands into his pockets and tossed his heavy coat behind him.
"I know! You're just trying to save face, young man. You're just digging up other people's graves, aren't you?"
Amir was taken aback for a moment, then nodded.
"I actually discovered it, too. There's a huge structure inside this mountain. You can see its broken stones below the crack."
"If it's really a tomb, what kind of important figure must have been buried here to deserve such a place? Haha."
Amir couldn't think of a response, so he just nodded awkwardly.
"Young man, meeting you is fate. My spaceship is broken down too. How about we make a deal?"
"What kind of deal?"
"You're interested in this old building, and I want to get out of here. I'll help you, and you help me. Haha, what do you say?"
At that moment, he spotted the probe in the distance. It had finished scanning and was emitting a green flash.
". . ."
". . ."
"It's you, you little bastard! You're sending out a sonic signal! I knew those beasts down there were going crazy!"
