"Hmm?"
Mrs. Monroe's words left Anna Morgan confused!
What foolish thing had she done!
She and Carter Lockwood were in love, things were good!
"Anna." Mrs. Monroe held Anna Morgan's hand and spoke earnestly, "In the past, your father and I both favored Sean Lockwood. Our families are well-matched, and you grew up with Sean. We hoped you'd be happy in marriage to him."
"But Sean Lockwood didn't cherish you. You seemed calm after he got married, but I've always been worried."
When Sean Lockwood was together with Zoe Quinn, Mrs. Monroe paid special attention to Anna Morgan's mood during that time.
Anna Morgan acted as if nothing had changed, even seemed in better spirits.
Mrs. Monroe thought Anna Morgan was suppressing her sadness.
But Anna certainly wasn't; she truly lost interest in Sean Lockwood all at once during that time.
"Mom, don't worry. I'll meet someone better."
Anna Morgan said confidently.
She already had.
