Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Ten Years' Dream Shattered

"Grandma, Lily is fine. Don't worry, let me have a few words with Miles Morgan, it'll be alright soon." Lily Shaw quickly turned to comfort her grandmother, who was about to explode with anger, and signaled her uncle Raymond Lowell to help the elderly lady back to the car.

Lily Shaw looked at Miles Morgan, full of remorse, as the crazy and melodramatic thought came true: Miles deliberately set the wedding date for today, painstakingly choosing the same day, even the same hotel and the same chapel to hold the wedding, just to force Crystal Shaw to confront her own heart and elope with him!

Lily Shaw's lips moved slightly, haha, her wedding with Miles Morgan was nothing but a ridiculous farce! And she was the clown in the farce, only there for people's entertainment.

"Miles, I think there's something you should know, this wedding dress I'm wearing is one I spent over half a year designing for myself. I've always dreamed of marrying you in this dress." Lily Shaw stood gracefully in front of him, with a faint smile on her face, as if she wasn't affected by Miles Morgan's blow at all.

Miles Morgan moved his mouth but still couldn't say anything.

"Miles Morgan, I have one request: before you walk her down the aisle, you must tell the guests who came to witness, explain the reason today's wedding is canceled!" Lily Shaw looked at him calmly, without uttering a single word about trying to persuade him to stay.

Miles Morgan locked eyes with her, trying in vain to see his reflection in her eyes, the hidden hope within him left unfulfilled.

Lily Shaw looked into his brown eyes, now as cold as ice, no longer containing the undeniable love from all these years.

"Alright." Miles Morgan moved his lips, grabbed Crystal Shaw, and turned away, his departing figure both determined and flustered.

Crystal Shaw never uttered a word from beginning to end, only at the moment of turning, she curved her lips toward Lily Shaw.

Lily Shaw watched as Miles Morgan held Crystal Shaw's hand tightly and left, her eyes blurred with tears.

Mandy Young supported her under a big tree outside the chapel, holding her tightly, letting her cry on her shoulder.

Listening to her suppressed sobs, Mandy Young clenched her fists, wishing she could chase after Miles Morgan and beat him up hard!

Lily is so good, Miles Morgan must have been blinded by shit not to see it!

No, no, Miles Morgan that fool was tricked by that little white lily Crystal Shaw!

Crystal Shaw and her mother are cut from the same mold, both mother and daughter love to seduce other people's men!

Mandy Young couldn't help but curse under her breath, lamenting how her friend Lily, such a good woman, ended up so unlucky to meet a scumbag like Miles Morgan.

"Mandy, I'm thirsty. Could you get me a bottle of water?" After crying so much, Lily Shaw's heartache had not lessened, but instead intensified.

The words Mandy Young spoke felt like a sharp knife, stabbing her heart over and over.

"Okay. Lily, I'm sorry, I shouldn't keep bringing them up. Please, wait for me, don't do anything rash!" Mandy Young, being somewhat careless and having a nature that must avenge grievances, couldn't stop thinking about that scumbag couple.

As soon as Mandy left, Lily Shaw could no longer hold back and started pounding on her chest, the pressure too heavy, making it hard for her to breathe.

She loved Miles Morgan for ten years, a full ten years, and even though she knew he didn't love her, she stubbornly waited.

Foolishly hoping that one day he would be moved by her deep affection and fall in love with her.

In the tenth year, she finally received Miles Morgan's proposal, but never imagined the ending would be like this.
