Lily Shaw looked at her brother's angry face, the corners of her mouth curling ever so slightly, a beautifully arched smile flashing across her face, graceful and poised. "Riley Thompson, let me handle this. I promise I'll make that flea kneel before you and apologize."
Lily gazed at Roy Thompson with a hint of laughter in her eyes, standing before him with composure and generosity. Her expression was gentle, but her words carried an inexplicable sense of menace.
This wasn't the first time Roy witnessed Lily Shaw standing up for him like this. Back when he got himself into trouble and was surrounded by hoodlums, Lily descended like an avenging angel, stood before him just as she did now, and took care of those who bullied him.
He nodded obediently, just like he did all those years ago, stepping back to let Lily take the lead.
