Lily Shaw noticed that Uncle Ox was unwilling to talk much about The Newell Family's secret recipe, so she wisely refrained from asking further. Smiling, she walked over to Uncle Ox and shook his arm just like she did years ago: "Uncle Ox, I haven't had your homemade beef noodles in ages. Could you show me and Aiden a little magic today?"
"You little rascal, come inside, I'll teach you a trick. Soon enough, you can make it yourself." Uncle Ox affectionately patted the top of Lily Shaw's head, his face filled with a jovial smile. Yet, unbeknownst to Lily Shaw and Aiden Grant, a flicker of coldness flashed in his eyes.
Aiden Grant sat quietly to the side, listening to Lily Shaw and Uncle Ox talk, watching them head into the kitchen. His expression suddenly darkened, and he took out his phone from his pocket to call Kevin Kaye, who was still in Silvercrest. Throughout the call, his face remained expressionless, but the anger in his deep eyes grew stronger.
