"Alright..." Bai Yao murmured gently, his large hand wrapping around Jiang Xinli's waist as he guided her to a steady landing on the ground.
Jiang Xinli glanced back. The canyon, steaming with corrosive mist, had long since disappeared from their sight.
Ahead lay an immense jungle of dark thorns that stretched to the horizon.
It was a tangled mess, like a maze.
Through the thorny jungle, she could see faint glimmers of green.
She guessed that splash of green must be Giant Tree Peak.
Bai Yao lowered his gaze, his eyes scanning Jiang Xinli from head to toe. "Little Li, are you feeling unwell anywhere?"
Jiang Xinli replied, "I'm fine, but my ears are ringing a little. What about you?"
"Try opening your mouth." Bai Yao leaned in and placed his palms gently over her ears.
"Alright." Jiang Xinli did as he was told, and just as he'd expected, the ringing disappeared. "It's better now. Thank you."
Bai Yao withdrew his hands.
