Everyone knows there are a lot of giant pandas at the Sichuan Panda Bases, but many people don't know that Sichuan actually has six such bases.
These are the Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base, Dujiangyan Chengdu Giant Panda Wild Release Research Center (Panda Valley), Dujiangyan China Giant Panda Garden, Sichuan Wolong China Giant Panda Garden Shenshuping Base, Huaying Mountain Giant Panda Garden, and Huaxia Giant Panda Protection and Research Center Mianyang Base.
Although these bases all have black and white pandas, their main operations differ. The Chengdu Giant Panda Breeding Research Base is famous for ex-situ conservation, scientific research, breeding, popular science education, and cultural tourism.
Panda Valley is the Chengdu Giant Panda Wild Release Research Center, where selected captive pandas learn skills for wild survival.
