Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Sea of Bones Skill Begins to Take Shape

"My god! This chunk of iron is too tough! The scratch I just made is already gone!"

"Ugh! Instructor Lu is such a fraud! These test puppets definitely have a self-repair ability! If we can't destroy them in a short time, they'll just regenerate!"

"Exactly! If it were a real, live Little Inferior Demon, we would've killed it by now! Not like these puppets, which have limitless stamina and can self-repair. After all this time, there isn't even a scratch on them!"

"No wonder the instructor was willing to offer a 20 contribution point reward. This is a total scam! I don't believe anyone can dismantle these test puppets! Not even if Gu Zhiqiu and Ye Fan teamed up!"

The students complained endlessly, their gazes filled with resentment as they looked at Lu Hu.

Even Bai Xiaochan couldn't resist her curiosity and tested her Attack Power using the [Shock Wave] Skill.

"Attack Power: 31!"

Seeing this, she pouted and stepped back in frustration.

Having awakened as a support Profession, she was likely fated to have no future in dealing damage.

However, when she turned her head and saw Fang Zhou also standing outside the crowd, Bai Xiaochan suddenly felt a sense of camaraderie from their shared misfortune.

There's no worst, only worse.

Although she hadn't awakened as her most desired [Assassin] Profession, [Chanting String] was still an excellent rare support Profession.

But Fang Zhou—so handsome, so talented, and so kind in his dealings with others—could only hide in a corner and grieve in private because of the Profession he'd awakened.

At this thought, Bai Xiaochan shifted her feet, about to go and console Fang Zhou when she suddenly saw him move.

Huh? What's he trying to do? Does he want to test a Skeleton's Attack Power and Defense Power?

She stood on her tiptoes, watching Fang Zhou with curiosity.

By this time, Fang Zhou had already walked up to one of the test puppets.

"Excuse me, everyone, please make way and spread out a bit. I want to test a Skill, and it might take up some space."

Hearing Fang Zhou's words, the other students in his group who were still trying their best backed away, all looking at him with curiosity.

Was this Undead Mage going to test as well?

Rumor had it his initial Skill was the most basic [Summon Skeleton]. What could one or two frail Skeletons possibly do against these test puppets?

They'd probably get smashed into bone dust with a single punch each!

Even students further away turned their gazes toward Fang Zhou.

They had all been thoroughly beaten down by the test puppets; it would be nice to regain some confidence at Fang Zhou's expense.

Someone remarked mockingly, "Well, since Fang Zhou is about to make his move, I don't have to worry about being last anymore."

Someone else chimed in, "Haha, the Skeletons summoned by an Undead Mage have neither quality nor quantity. I bet they can't even get past the test puppet's defenses."

Fang Zhou ignored their comments. Seeing that the space was ample, he wasted no time and activated the [Summon Skeleton] Skill.

Having reached the [Master] proficiency level, he could summon two Skeletons at once.

Black vortices materialized one after another, and soon, a total of ten Skeletons stood on the training field.

Although these Skeletons were still bare-handed, their bones were much sturdier than freshly summoned Skeletons.

Based on Fang Zhou's experience slaughtering hundreds of Skeletons, the average stats of these new summons were quite a bit stronger.

When the Skeletons first appeared, a few of the female students cried out, subconsciously taking several steps back.

Most of the students, however, remained calm.

Skeletons were just cannon fodder among Undead Creatures, notorious for their weakness in battle.

They had all taken monster identification courses and witnessed some gruesome scenes, so their tolerance for this was quite high.

However, as Fang Zhou summoned more and more Skeletons, their calm expressions began to crack.

Holy crap!

Ten Skeletons? Are you kidding me, Fang Zhou?

I thought newly awakened Apprentice-level Undead Mages could normally only summon two Skeletons!

Don't tell me you've already advanced to become a Black Iron Mage, Fang Zhou?

Even Lu Hu, who had been observing quietly from the side, almost cursed out loud.

Even Su Xinyan—the daughter of Principal Su, the Legendary Crown, who was hailed as the most genius Undead Mage in history—had only been able to summon five Skeletons upon her own Awakening.

Could Fang Zhou's Talent really be that much greater than Su Xinyan's?

Faced with the crowd's astonished expressions, Fang Zhou's heart remained as calm as ever.

Don't ask. If you have to ask, the answer is simply peerless Talent!

This was him holding back, too. He was saving some Spiritual Power to use his [Skeleton Flying Spear] Skill.

Even so, ten Skeletons were enough to completely surround a test puppet.

Under Fang Zhou's control, the Skeletons swarmed forward, pinning the puppet directly to the ground.

They hammered it with their Bone Claws or gnawed at it with their teeth.

Even if the puppet managed to smash one Skeleton with its fist, another would immediately take its place.

"Attack Power: 21!"

"Attack Power: 18!"

"Attack Power: 23!"

"Defense Power: 15!"

"Defense Power: 18!"

...

The puppet's display screen flickered incessantly.

Compared to the average student, the Attack Power and Defense Power of these Skeletons were, of course, much weaker.

But they had no stamina or Spiritual Power limitations. They were tireless, feared no destruction, attacked with high frequency, and were numerous.

As the saying goes, enough ants can bite an elephant to death. Soon, the test puppet's outer shell was covered in dents and scratches.

"No way! The puppet can't hold on! Are these Skeletons really going to dismantle it?"

"What's so impossible about it? How would you handle ten Skeletons?"

"Ahhh, 20 contribution points! Fang Zhou's going to take them! I'm so envious!"

The students chattered amongst themselves, their envy now mixed with a hint of admiration.

It couldn't be helped; who could possibly handle ten Skeletons at once?

But Lu Hu, standing to the side, frowned slightly.

"This is not good! The Skeletons' defenses are too poor. The puppet destroys one every two punches. Soon, their numbers will be insufficient, and there will be gaps in their assault!"

Although his initial offer of a 20 contribution point reward was meant to tease these new students, now that Fang Zhou had demonstrated both the ability and the opportunity to destroy the puppet, Lu Hu naturally hoped he could successfully claim them.

Do you still have enough Spiritual Power to summon more Skeletons?

He cast a worried glance at Fang Zhou, only to be surprised by Fang Zhou's expression of complete confidence.

And in fact, Fang Zhou wasn't the least bit anxious.

The situation on the field was even better than he had imagined. He had originally thought that ten Skeletons alone wouldn't be able to break through the test puppet's defenses and that he might need to use [Skeleton Flying Spear].

Now it seemed these Skeletons were more than enough to dismantle the puppet on their own.

If their numbers dwindled, he would just summon more. It was that simple.

Enjoy this feast of bones!

Having made up his mind, Fang Zhou no longer held back.

[Summon Skeleton] activated again, and more black vortices appeared out of thin air.

Another ten Skeletons were summoned, instantly plugging the gaps in the assault.

Five minutes later, to no one's surprise, the test puppet that had been pinned to the ground, unable to rise, was literally torn apart into a pile of components by the twenty Skeletons.
