Hatchling dragons are relatively small, usually only the size of a large dog. Their scales have not yet fully hardened, making their bodies appear soft and fragile, but they already possess the basic characteristics of the Dragon Sect: wings, sharp teeth, and claws. Newly hatched, they are very reliant on their parents' protection and require a substantial amount of food and energy to grow.
Their Dragon Breath has only just awakened. Although relatively weak, it can already threaten small creatures. They can fly for short distances but have limited stamina. Their Dragon Breath is weak; for example, a Red Dragon hatchling can only breathe a small plume of fire, while a Black Dragon hatchling releases only a faint mist of acid.
By the time a dragon reaches the Young Dragon stage, it is nearly the size of a pony. The scales begin to harden, the wings become more powerful, and the body gradually exudes the majesty of the Dragon Sect. Tiamat was at this stage.
