Chapter 314 - Chapter 314: A Ray of Light in the Darkness — How Brilliant It Shines

Obito Uchiha's obsession was Rin. The main reason he agreed to Madara's plan was Rin's death.

But simply reviving Rin — given the state of the ninja world at that time — meant Rin could still fall victim to the same fate.

That wasn't what Obito Uchiha wanted to see.

He believed this war-torn world was unworthy of Rin. He wanted to create a peaceful, beautiful world worthy of her.

That was roughly the idea.

But would Rin really be happy if she were revived, knowing everything Obito had done for her?

Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki treated Obito Uchiha like a son. Maybe Minato wasn't quite so extreme, but Kushina truly regarded him as her own son.

And this was how Obito repaid their filial devotion.

Some say Obito Uchiha only wanted to take the Nine-Tails and never intended to kill Kushina Uzumaki.

But was that really the case?

When a jinchūriki has the tailed beast extracted from their body, they die. The Uzumaki clan might be somewhat special — they wouldn't die immediately — but whether they could be healed afterward was nobody's guess.

Obito Uchiha clearly didn't care whether Kushina Uzumaki died because of it.

Before doing it, he had already prepared for his sensei's wife to die by his hand!

Most likely, in his heart, he was even resenting Minato for not saving Rin in time.....

[Leidorichest]: "@Minato Namikaze, after reading all this, do you resent Uchiha Obito?"

[Leidorichest]: "If not for his appearance, you and Kushina Uzumaki wouldn't have died. Naruto wouldn't have lost his parents, wouldn't have been treated like a monster, wouldn't have been bullied and discriminated against. The Uchiha clan wouldn't even have been wiped out."

[Leidorichest]: "Everything could have been so beautiful."

[Leidorichest]: "But because of him, it all turned to ash."

[Leidorichest]: "Kushina Uzumaki is dead. Naruto is treated like a monster, bullied, discriminated against, forced to endure a dark childhood. And because of your deaths, the relationship between Konoha and the Uchiha became even worse."

[Leidorichest]: "Add Itachi's stubbornness, and you get the tragic annihilation of the entire Uchiha clan."

[Leidorichest]: "All of this — do you and Kushina Uzumaki hate Uchiha Obito?"

The chat fell silent at Tony's words. Everyone waited for Minato Namikaze's answer.

They were curious too. How would Minato feel about the actions of a student he had treated like his own son?

After a long while, Minato's voice finally sounded in the chat.

[Golden Flash]: "Perhaps it's because none of this has happened yet in my world."

[Golden Flash]: "I don't hate Obito."

[Golden Flash]: "I think Kushina and I, even if we knew everything, wouldn't hate Obito."

[Golden Flash]: "I would blame myself for not saving them, for not arriving when they needed me most. I would grieve over the fact that Obito formed a demonic resolve over Rin's death, and feel anguish over everything he caused. But hate? Never."

Parents might feel rage, heartbreak, and disappointment over a child's mistakes — but never hatred.

Minato would not. Kushina would not even more so!

Whether it was a lie or hypocrisy, whatever others might think — this was Minato's genuine feeling.

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "The predictable answer..."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Before I transmigrated, I read a lot of fanfiction. The opinions on Uchiha Obito's actions were mixed. Many authors wrote about what Minato Namikaze and Kushina Uzumaki's reaction would be if they learned the masked man was Uchiha Obito."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Some thought the two would feel hatred. But the vast majority — those who had actually finished reading Naruto — knew that Minato Namikaze held not a shred of hatred for Obito. Not one bit!"

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "If most people in the world learned that a student they treated like family had ruined their lives and destroyed the village they held above all else, there's no way they could avoid hatred. They'd break."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "But after learning everything, Minato only felt regret and sorrow. He still remembered Obito's dream of becoming Hokage, still hoped to see Obito achieve it."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Tragic, that Obito Uchiha fell to become an enemy of the entire world!"

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Still, I used to question all this."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "I thought it was only possible because Minato and Kushina never saw with their own eyes what Naruto went through — the bullying and verbal abuse after their death."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "If their spirits could have followed Naruto all his life, watching from childhood onward, seeing everything their son endured after they died — then even knowing the masked man was Obito, they couldn't have felt zero resentment."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "But when I discussed it with others, they told me something interesting."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "If Minato and Kushina truly saw all of this through Naruto's eyes, their hatred wouldn't be directed at Uchiha Obito — it would be aimed at Konoha's leadership!"

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Naruto should have been celebrated as a hero's son, entitled to the love and respect of others. Konoha's choices took all of that away from him."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Many people say Sarutobi Hiruzen was just a village chief, that Konoha's upper management wasn't as dark as all that. But they were fictional creations — the darkness in them is but a faint shadow of what reality would show."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "A person everyone despises, bullied by peers, looked down on by those around them, mired in darkness — if someone appears who is kind to them, who cares for them, they will see that person as light!"

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "This is a truth everyone knows."

[The Ordinary Group Admin]: "Even without the influence of Asura's chakra, Naruto wouldn't have fallen to darkness — because three of the most important lights in his life were right there in Konoha. Sarutobi Hiruzen, Iruka, and Ichiraku."

A ray of light in the darkness — how brilliant it shines!

And Naruto had three of them!

One was even the Hokage!

[Kasumi Shiko]: "Even though what you all say makes sense, wasn't the one who caused all this Uchiha Madara?"

[Kasumi Shiko]: "Wasn't he the mastermind?"

[Kasumi Shiko]: "Obito was just a tool. Nagato was just a tool. Madara was the one who planted the tree!"

[Kasumi Shiko]: "Although, he got tricked by Black Zetsu too, I suppose."
