Chapter 137 - DB-VFRBIV Chapter 131 Trunks: I’ll Just Call Him Dad

A presence that seemed to tear through dimensions suddenly appeared from above, shaking the air.

Every head snapped upward.

Two figures emerged from a jagged crack in the sky, their combined aura so overwhelming that it sent shivers down spines.

They were Super Broly and Gogeta.

The two stood revealed to all.

"This Ki...!" Gohan's eyes widened as he recognized them. "Dad...? Vegeta Ojisan? Did they fuse?!"

He could barely process it.

"And who is that other guy with them?" His gaze shifted to the towering form of Super Broly.

Gohan wasn't the only one left stunned; Trunks felt his world turn upside down, too.

Gogeta he could understand. But Broly? Which Broly was this supposed to be?

A memory flickered in his mind: the Z Broly absorbed into Majin Buu.

But then, how was this possible?

If Gogeta was fighting Broly, then wasn't this Broly also from their timeline? No, maybe not. Since they had stepped out of a dimensional rift, maybe they had clashed somewhere within the chaos of space-time itself.

Had something gone wrong when his father and Goku used the time machine?

Trunks was still trying to piece it together when a blur appeared right in front of him with no warning.

Someone had used Instant Transmission.

Trunks looked up and froze.

It was Gogeta.

"Trunks. Gohan. Bulla," Gogeta said, his usually guarded expression softening in relief at seeing them unharmed.

"Dad?" Gohan and Bulla said together, their voices uncertain. They weren't sure if they should believe it.

But before they could enjoy this hopeful moment, a savage roar split the sky.

Super Broly dove down like a living storm, his fury unleashed, his eyes wild with rage.

"Dad, what's going on?!" Gohan demanded, tense and confused.

Gogeta only gave a knowing smile. "It's complicated. Hard to explain quickly."

Whoosh! Another flicker of Instant Transmission. Gogeta vanished, only to reappear right behind Super Broly.

In one fluid motion, he gripped the raging warrior's head and hauled it down with brutal precision. His knee came crashing up.

Bang!

The impact thundered as Broly was sent flying through the air.

Before the dust could settle, Gogeta was at Trunks's side again.

"That guy's name is also Broly," Gogeta said calmly, though his eyes stayed locked on the battle. "He's the older brother of the Broly you saw inside Majin Buu."

"They're twins."

Trunks blinked. "...What?"

"After you left, Frieza brought him here," Gogeta added with deliberate brevity before fleeing as Super Broly came roaring back.

Trunks's head spun. None of this made sense.

Twins? Two Brolys? Was Frieza alive again?

The absurdity of it all made him dizzy.

One Broly was a Legendary Super Saiyan. The other was a mutant Saiyan.

What kind of miracle genetics did Paragus possess to father two overpowered monsters?

Super Broly being a mutant was something Trunks could almost accept. The Z Broly being the fabled Legendary Super Saiyan also made sense.

But the idea of them being twins? Impossible. Unbelievable. His mind couldn't fathom it.

If what Gogeta said was true, then after everything they had gone through, Frieza had dragged this version of Broly into the timeline as well.

Trunks knew for certain that it had already been close to three full days since they left their original timeline.

Three days!

By now, the fusion should have worn off. Gogeta should have unfused long ago.

So why was he still here?

This thought rattled around in Trunks's head until a surge of pink light slammed into the ground in front of him, snapping him back to the present.

A beam of pure, malicious ki.

Floating above with his arms crossed and a smug smile on his face was Black Vegito, looking down with predatory calm.

"Oh? Reinforcements?" His laugh was as sharp as a blade. "How utterly laughable."

The sight of that hated face twisted something inside of Trunks. The corner of his lip twitched and curled into a smirk.

So this was how it was going to be:

Gogeta versus Black Vegito.

Now that would be worth watching.

"Heh," Trunks said, his voice steady and his face lit with defiance. "So what if I did call for help, Zamasu? Are you sure you understand the situation?"

His grin widened with each word, and he could almost see the flicker of irritation cross Black Vegito's sharp features.

"You dare..." Black Vegito spat, his eyes filled with murderous intent. "A handful of weak insects think they can defy me? I am a god above gods. You are nothing but circus clowns."

Trunks didn't answer. His gaze wavered briefly as he thought back to the look on Gogeta's face when he appeared earlier.

Gogeta had always been hard to pin down, an enigma.

Hell Gogeta: distant, untouchable.

Super Gogeta was cool but composed and hard to read.

GT Gogeta was a grown-up Gotenks, more of a prankster than a warrior at times.

But this Gogeta, here and now, was different.

This one cared. He carried himself like a father would. Like someone who would protect his family at all costs.

Trunks's throat tightened. Without thinking, he roared into the sky from the depths of his chest:

"Dad!"

The cry thundered across the battlefield, rumbling through the shattered heavens.

Mid-swing, mid-clash, Gogeta froze. His piercing gaze immediately turned to Trunks and the others.

Then, he saw the pink-haired intruder.

His eyes sharpened like blades. His pupils iced over at once.

That aura, that face... There was no mistaking it:

Goku Black.

"Rrrraaaahhh!!!"

Super Broly thrashed about like a beast, but Gogeta held firm, pressing down on the titan's struggling arms.

"Quiet!" Gogeta barked, his voice edged like iron.

With an explosive motion, he hurled Broly high into the air and sent him crashing forward, a living projectile launched straight at Black Vegito.

"Tch." Black Vegito's grin twisted and his expression darkened as the monstrous form barreled straight toward him. "Trash."

He swung his scythe one-handed as if he were bored. The gleaming blade carved across Broly's chest, spraying blood. Scarlet scattered into the air.

"Pathetic mortals," Black Vegito sneered. His eyes were as cold as the void. "All of you are filth."

But Broly did not fall.

"ROAAAAAAAAAR!!!"

His cry shook the ground with its rage. The green torrent of Ki around him burned fiercer than ever before, towering higher and swallowing the battlefield with its raw fury.

Wounded and bleeding with the scythe still buried in his body, he didn't care. He didn't even feel it.

Driven by pure rage, he charged forward, repeatedly slamming his skull into Black Vegito's head.

Bam! Bam! Bam!

The violent impact echoed like thunder.

The battlefield was drowned in chaos, and the night split open with untamed power.
