Trunks fixed his gaze on the man before him. Starting from those purple hands, his eyes slowly moved upward, light purple skin, a long purple coat, both hands tucked casually into his pockets, and a head that looked just as distinctive as ever.
This person was none other than Universe 6's legendary assassin, Hit.
"So it's you."
Trunks spoke those four words calmly, his voice as still as a windless lake, revealing no emotion whatsoever. His deep eyes quietly studied the man, as if trying to see through every secret he carried.
In contrast, a trace of shock flashed across Hit's eyes the moment he heard those words. It was like a bolt of lightning cutting through a calm night sky, brief, but impossible to miss.
"You know me?" Hit asked, unable to hide the curiosity in his voice.
Trunks replied flatly, "No."
The simple answer left Hit momentarily speechless.
Then Trunks continued, "But you've definitely surprised me. I didn't expect you to have an ability like this."
He narrowed his eyes slightly, carefully examining Hit and searching for any clues. In truth, Trunks had heard of Hit in his previous life.
He knew that Hit's signature technique was the Time-Skip, but from what he had seen so far, Hit wasn't using that ability at all. Instead, he was using a mysterious technique that even Trunks had never encountered before.
That only made Trunks more interested while also putting him on guard. Perhaps this was another butterfly effect caused by his own transmigration. Those changes had already altered many things from the original story, and Hit seemed to be no exception.
"Tell me. What's going on with this strange space? And why can't those two move?" Trunks asked, probing for information. Honestly, he wasn't expecting to get a real answer from a cold-blooded assassin.
To his surprise, however, Hit offered a condition instead.
"I can tell you, but first you have to answer one question. Why..."
Before he could finish, a crafty gleam flashed through Trunks' eyes.
"Hold on. Don't be so quick to ask questions. Who said you had permission to question me?"
As he spoke, Trunks casually shook his head, looking completely unconcerned. Seeing this, Hit gave up on pressing the matter and chose to compromise.
"Fine. Then let's leave it at that." After a brief pause, he continued, "This is a unique domain that I created myself. The special thing about it is that the flow of time inside is completely different from the outside world."
A faint look of pride appeared on Hit's face as he explained further.
"That's why I gave it a name. It's called... 'Space Prison'."
"Inside this place, as long as I activate its power, I can instantly pull anyone within a ten-meter radius from the outside world into this area. However, unless I give permission, anyone who enters will be completely immobilized. They won't be able to move even an inch."
Trunks listened carefully to Hit's explanation, nodding from time to time. After hearing it all, he quickly looked toward Super Perfect Cell behind him and the Man in Black lying on the ground nearby.
Just as Hit had said, both of them were completely motionless, like statues. Neither showed the slightest sign of getting up or resisting.
Trunks frowned.
Recalling his earlier clash with the Man in Black, he asked, "But when I attacked that guy earlier, his body suddenly became transparent. No matter how hard I hit him, my attacks just passed right through him. I couldn't touch him at all. What's going on with that? In this so-called Space Prison, are you the only one who can attack other people?"
Hit nodded. "That's right."
Trunks stroked his chin. '(This ability seems even stronger than Time-Skip. The butterfly effect really is something else. Still... something feels off.)'
Suddenly, he lowered his hand.
"But why can I move?"
Trunks asked again, looking at Hit in confusion.
The moment Hit heard the question, his expression darkened. "Are you asking me? Or are you messing with me?" Hit said in a low voice.
Trunks scratched his head.
"What do you mean? You can't answer that question? In that case, don't expect me to answer yours either." He shrugged casually, though his eyes occasionally drifted toward Hit.
Hit slowly pulled both hands out of his pockets, a cold gleam flashing across them.
But Trunks was no ordinary fighter. The instant killing intent appeared in Hit's eyes, Trunks sensed the danger. His gaze immediately locked onto Hit's wrist. Drawing on his knowledge of the Time-Skip from his previous life, he instantly realized what Hit was about to do.
Without hesitation, Trunks struck first. With a swift swing of his arm, a brilliant energy beam shot toward Hit like a bolt of lightning.
Boom!
A deafening explosion erupted. The powerful shockwave shook the surrounding air, and a massive crater was blasted into the ground. Hit's attempt to use the Time-Skip was interrupted before it could even begin.
"Hey, come on. If you don't want to answer, then don't answer," Trunks called out toward the smoke. "But trying to attack someone the moment you disagree with them, is that how people from Universe 6 do things?"
A moment later, Hit strode out from the cloud of dust.
"Are you mocking me? The question you're asking is exactly what I want to ask! If you're asking me, then who am I supposed to ask? Why are you able to move freely inside my Space Prison?"
