Chapter 184 - Chapter 184: Kotoamatsukami?!

Hyūga Shin scanned the battlefield below, a faint smile tugging at his lips.

The jōnin who had once stood high above him—untouchable and revered—now lay lifeless by his hand.

He adjusted his chakra rifle, the weight of it comforting in his grip.

To him, it wasn't just a weapon—it was freedom, proof that the weak could strike down the mighty.

Even so, Shin remained disciplined. Between shots, his pale Byakugan eyes swept across the chaos, analyzing every movement. Despite Umbrella's superior equipment, the tide of battle wasn't decisively in their favor.

The sheer number of Konoha shinobi had forced a stalemate.

Konoha's ninja had begun adapting. Having faced Umbrella's relentless assaults, they had adjusted their teamwork and formation. Every clash, every exchange, grew more fierce and calculated.

Shin exhaled softly, lifted his rifle again, and began creating openings for his fellow shinobi.

Each crack of his rifle echoed like a ghost through the smoke—another Leaf ninja falling without ever knowing from where death came.

Across the battlefield, Uchiha Sasuke's eyes blazed crimson.

His Three-Tomoe Sharingan spun with killing intent as his gaze locked on Shimura Danzō.

"Danzō," he hissed, voice trembling with fury. "I'll kill you, you rotten old man!"

Sasuke's cloak was torn, his skin scorched, but his resolve burned hotter than ever.

Though his power still fell short of Danzō's, with Tsunade by his side, the two were gradually forcing the old war hawk into a corner.

"Lightning Release: Chidori Senbon!"

Dozens of lightning-forged needles erupted from Sasuke's hands, streaking toward Danzō in a deadly swarm.

"Hmph. Child's play!" Danzō scoffed, slamming his palm to the ground.

"Summoning Jutsu!"

A thunderous roar shook the ground as a massive elephantine creature appeared—Baku, the Vacuum Beast of legend. Its single trunk curled as it inhaled violently, creating a whirlwind that began pulling everything toward it.

"Is that… Danzō's summoning beast?" Sasuke muttered, his eyes narrowing.

The pull intensified, dragging stones, trees, and even shards of metal toward Baku's gaping maw.

Sasuke gritted his teeth, forming rapid hand seals.

"Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"

A massive sphere of flame roared from his mouth, colliding with the beast's vortex and halting its suction momentarily.

Tsunade landed beside him with a thud, her expression grim.

"That's Baku—the Vacuum Beast. It's at least as strong as an elite jōnin. Don't lose focus, Uchiha boy!"

To her, Sasuke was still rough around the edges, but the potential in his chakra, his eyes—he was undeniably destined for greatness.

"Danzō, prepare yourself!" Tsunade shouted, sprinting forward.

Danzō's expression hardened. "Wind Release: Vacuum Sphere!"

He exhaled compressed air bullets in rapid succession, each one detonating on impact. At his side, Baku joined in, releasing a massive gust of Wind Release chakra.

The combined force tore through the terrain, uprooting trees and shattering stone.

But Tsunade didn't flinch.

Her body glowed faintly with chakra-enhanced strength. She leaped high, her fist pulling back, and a shockwave of raw power gathered around it.

When she struck—

BOOM!

A massive crater erupted, shaking the entire battlefield. Debris rained down like meteors.

Sasuke's eyes widened. "That punch… it's insane. Even with my Chidori Stream, I couldn't match that!"

If anyone took that hit directly, there'd be nothing left to bury.

In the distance, Naruto glanced toward Tsunade and Danzō's clash, then exhaled softly.

He trusted them to handle it. His role was elsewhere.

With the battlefield teeming with enemies, Naruto dashed into the fray. His movements were fluid, almost casual—like a stroll through chaos.

Each flick of his wrist, each burst of chakra, dropped another opponent.

Elsewhere, Neji and the others were locked in combat with Konoha's defending forces.

Jiraiya, meanwhile, seemed content to hang back—half fighting, half observing.

Naruto's arrival alone had already begun shifting the balance. The Umbrella strike teams fought harder, emboldened by their leader's presence.

For Naruto, there was no mercy left for the Sarutobi and Shimura clans.

Over the years, they had monopolized missions, hoarded resources, and let their bloodlines grow bloated and complacent. They'd built their comfort on the backs of the village's suffering.

Now, it was time for reckoning.

"Uzumaki Naruto!"

A sharp voice cut through the noise. Naruto turned instinctively—his instincts screamed danger.

A gust of wind split the air as a figure landed before him, adopting the Gentle Fist stance of the Hyūga Clan.

Hyūga Hiashi.

Naruto's expression tightened. Of all people…

Did it really have to be him?

His future father-in-law.

Hiashi's pale eyes were sharp, filled not with malice, but with grim determination.

Why is he siding with Danzō's faction? Naruto wondered.

Bribed? Threatened? Controlled?

Hiashi had always avoided political entanglements. Like Uchiha Fugaku, he was cautious—strong enough to command respect, yet wise enough to know when to stay silent.

Could it be… Kotoamatsukami?

Naruto's gaze darkened.

If Danzō had used Shisui's genjutsu on Hiashi…

That was unforgivable.

Naruto's eyes flickered with resolve, his chakra flaring golden for an instant.

He lowered his stance, readying himself.

"Hiashi-san…" he muttered quietly.

"I really didn't want this fight."

Before Naruto could think any further, Hyūga Hiashi lunged forward, his palms glowing faintly with chakra.

His movements were precise, graceful — the very essence of the Gentle Fist.

Each strike targeted Naruto's chakra points with surgical accuracy. Despite Hiashi's age, his experience and control were formidable — his attacks flowed like water, seamless and relentless.

Naruto weaved and ducked, barely evading the barrage.

He could already guess what had happened.

Eighty percent certainty, he thought grimly. That old snake Danzō must've used Kotoamatsukami on him…

This wasn't an enemy he could treat lightly — this was his future father-in-law.

And the Hyūga Clan had never been Naruto's enemy.

It made the fight all the more painful.

Then, amid the chaos — a white blur flashed across the battlefield.

It moved like death itself.

Konoha shinobi began to fall one after another, their throats slashed before they could even scream.

Someone finally shouted in shock, "Kakashi Hatake?! Don't tell me… you've betrayed Konoha too!?"

The white figure turned, and the single visible Sharingan eye glinted coldly beneath the slanted forehead protector.

"Hmph. If you've got questions," Kakashi said flatly, "go ask Danzō."

He gripped the broken blade tightly — the weapon once wielded by his father, the White Fang of Konoha.

The weight of old pain and truth still lingered in his chest.

Sakumo Hatake's death had never been simple.

That injustice had haunted Kakashi his entire life.

But now, the son would finish what the father began.

"A true swordsman," he murmured, his chakra flaring, "never stops moving forward."

"White Fang Sword Style: Severing Void!"

A flash of white split the air.

Three shinobi dropped lifelessly to the ground before they could even blink — their final expressions frozen in disbelief.

The blade in Kakashi's hand shone with a faint three-foot halo of white chakra, slicing through armor, steel, and jutsu alike.

Now he finally understood his father's art — the secret behind the White Fang Sword Style.

It was not just skill. It was intent.

Sword intent — pure, unwavering resolve that transcended technique itself.

Once that intent awakened, even a broken blade could cut through heaven and earth.

And now, wielding his father's reforged tanto, Kakashi carried that same terrifying brilliance — a legend reborn.

The older Konoha shinobi on the field froze mid-battle.

For a brief, haunting moment… it felt as if Sakumo Hatake himself had returned to the battlefield.

"Damn it! Don't falter — everyone, attack him together!"

Dozens of jutsu erupted at once.

"Fire Release: Flame Bullet!"

"Lightning Release: Lightning Flash!"

"Wind Release: Great Breakthrough!"

The sky blazed with light and thunder.

But Kakashi's gaze didn't waver.

His Sharingan spun — precise, cold, unblinking — tracking every motion. He raised the White Fang blade once more, his chakra surging violently.

"Awaken," he whispered.

"White Fang Secret Art: Startling Swan!"

A blinding wave of white energy erupted from his blade — graceful and terrifying, like the wings of a swan in flight.

"Not good! Earth Release: Earth Wall!" a shinobi shouted, hastily forming seals.

But it was too late.

The white slash tore through everything — fire, lightning, wind — even the Earth Wall crumbled before it.

When the light faded, a deep gash dozens of meters long split the ground. Smoke and dust billowed as silence fell over the field.

The surviving shinobi stood frozen in awe and dread.

Before them stood Kakashi Hatake, bathed in pale light, the broken blade gleaming faintly in his hand.

The White Fang of Konoha had returned —and this time, his fangs were bared at the very village that had once destroyed his father.
