Kaide looked a little puzzled as he pulled two slabs of beef from the cold storage and placed them on the cart.
These cuts had already been butchered and were meant for a high-end restaurant. After being kept at –18°C for twelve hours, the meat's texture wouldn't change, but any parasites or bacteria inside would be killed.
He was planning to deliver the meat to the laboratory.
Outside the villa, Kakarot was training on a treadmill, carrying a heavy turtle shell on her back. Her small feet pounded against the machine with heavy thuds. Even though Kaide had reinforced the treadmill's frame and load capacity, the whole thing still creaked under the strain.
"Kaide! Let me out!"
The moment she saw him, Kakarot pressed her slightly chubby face against the iron bars, her short legs still running, glaring at him with a look that clearly said: If you don't let me out, I'll smash you when I do!
"Miss, this is the time Boss set. There's nothing I can do."
Kaide grimaced helplessly.
"Boss asked me to deliver the beef, so I'll be going now."
He spoke quickly and pushed the cart away at a jog, as if fleeing for his life.
"Ah! Ah! Ah!"
Kakarot shouted in frustration. She could clearly sense that violent, raging qi coming from afar—it was obvious Broly was up to something interesting again. Not being able to go see it firsthand made her itch with curiosity.
Kaide pushed the cart to the lab and immediately froze at the sight of the bizarre creature standing on the sand.
Even though he considered himself quite experienced among ordinary people, the sight before him still scared the life out of him.
"Boss, here's the beef you asked for."
Every instinct in his body screamed at him to stay back. He didn't dare take a single step closer to that monster.
Broly pointed with one finger. The two slabs of beef floated into the air and landed beside the creature.
The creature's senses were extremely sharp. The moment Kaide appeared, the light flickering across its body pulsed faster, and its mood grew restless. If Broly hadn't been standing nearby, it might have already lunged at Kaide.
Suddenly, the cilia covering its surface elongated and stabbed into the meat. The frozen beef was still as hard as stone, yet it was easily pierced through.
Then the creature opened its enormous maw and swallowed the whole chunk in one gulp.
A grinding noise filled the air—like a high-speed juicer. Within just a few minutes, hundreds of kilograms of beef were shredded into minced pulp and completely digested.
After feeding, the cancerous cells inside the creature began dividing and multiplying again. Countless yellow-green pustules bulged out from beneath the black gelatinous skin, layer upon layer, enough to make one's scalp tingle.
The dividing cells absorbed external qi at an astonishing rate, increasing their strength.
Before long, the monster had grown from the size of a dog to that of a calf. Its body was once again covered by that black gel, the light on its surface flickering in unison as it let out a sharp, excited shriek.
Broly could clearly feel its energy surge again—It had already surpassed Kakarot.
That was absurd. Kakarot had earned her power through endless sweat and training, yet this thing had surpassed her just by devouring his qi.
Feeling its strength skyrocket once more, the creature grew arrogant. Malicious intent and greed flashed within its consciousness as it turned its attention toward Broly.
The glow on its body shifted to a dangerous red, emitting a low, humming vibration.
In the next instant, the monster shot forward like a cannonball.
So far, it only had two methods of attack: stabbing with its cilia or devouring its prey with its massive mouth.
The countless needle-like tendrils launched toward Broly, each one sharp enough to pierce metal.
Broly still didn't dodge. He simply stood there, letting the rain of tendrils strike him.
A series of metallic clinks echoed—yet despite their power, the cilia couldn't even scratch his skin. They merely shredded his clothes.
Broly raised a finger and fired a Don Don Wave. The roaring energy blast pierced straight through the creature, sending it tumbling several times across the ground before it stopped.
Foul-smelling pus and blood splattered everywhere.
"Interesting… I'll call you Gluttony."
Broly fired another Don Don Wave, nailing the recovering Gluttony to the ground.
He wasn't planning to make it any stronger for now. At its current level, it was perfect—strong enough to pose a serious threat to Kakarot, yet still within her ability to handle. An ideal sparring opponent.
However, its attacks were far too crude. Despite its immense qi, it had almost no combat instincts. Broly decided to train it a bit.
For a beast like this—low intelligence, guided purely by instinct—the best form of education was pain.
Each time its wounds began to heal, Broly fired another Don Don Wave, blasting Gluttony into the air. He deliberately adjusted the blast's power and speed—just enough for the creature to learn if it wasn't utterly hopeless.
After taking over a dozen hits, Gluttony finally managed to evade one, its body flickering aside just as the energy ball whooshed past.
With each injury and regeneration, its form began to shift in strange ways. The insect-like body gradually sprouted limbs and a torso. Though crude and awkward, the emerging shape hinted at evolution.
"This… this thing is evolving…"
Professor Connors could hardly believe his eyes.
Gluttony's original form had resembled a primitive single-celled organism. Yet through its battle with Broly, it was now instinctively mimicking Broly's humanoid shape.
The imitation was clumsy, but the progress was astonishing—proof that Gluttony possessed both learning and mimicry abilities.
Barely an hour ago, it had been nothing more than a lump of mindless cancer cells. The transformation it had undergone was even more shocking than its explosive growth in strength.
Connors could hardly wait to analyze the changes happening inside its body.
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
The Don Don Waves streaked through the air like meteors.
Under constant assault, Gluttony grew more and more human-like. Its limbs refined, and a head emerged from its torso—though still pitch-black and featureless, lacking eyes, nose, or mouth.
It moved on all fours like a wild beast, darting at incredible speed. Broly's deliberately weakened blasts were already struggling to hit it.
"Interesting."
Broly's eyes gleamed. He hadn't expected Gluttony to change so dramatically.
Now that it had a humanoid form, it could potentially learn martial arts.
Excited by the idea, he decided to give it a proper lesson—and unleashed the Kame Style.
"Boom!"
His fist crashed down like thunder breaking over dry land, slamming straight into Gluttony's head and blowing it apart in a single strike.
