Chapter 427 - Chapter 427: As They Say, Those Who Understand the Times...

Kin'emon glared angrily at Brownbeard. What did he mean by Momonosuke being sick?

How could he not know whether the young master was sick or not?

Although the young master was very young, having inherited Oden-sama's physical constitution, he absolutely would not fall ill!

Brownbeard looked at Kin'emon with exasperation. If he wasn't sick, why would the master have brought him here?

Then, as if realizing something, Brownbeard's expression shifted to one of sudden understanding.

"Oh, I get it now."

"You must have come to the wrong place."

"Bullshit!"

Kin'emon retorted angrily, "My son is here. How could I have come to the wrong place?"

He was one hundred percent certain of this.

"Then do you see the person you're looking for here?" Brownbeard sneered.

All the children on this island were gathered here, right? But had the other party spotted that child?

No, he hadn't.

"This..."

Choked up, Kin'emon opened his mouth but then snorted and said, "I suppose he must have been hidden away by that master of yours."

"Bullshit!"

Brownbeard instantly flared up, saying, "How could the master possibly do such a thing?"

"Then why isn't my son here?"

"I told you, you came to the wrong place!"

"Impossible!"

Watching the two argue endlessly, Nami rubbed her temples with a headache and said, "Alright, you two, stop arguing."

"Whether it's true or not, we can just ask these children and find out."

As she spoke, Nami glanced at the children building snowballs over there. They might actually know something.

Hearing this, Kin'emon was taken aback for a moment before saying, "That makes sense."

After a pause, he continued, "I didn't expect you, a woman, to be quite clever."

"That doesn't sound much like a compliment," Nami said, pursing her lips.

"No, I really am complimenting you," Kin'emon replied, averting his gaze.

Nami: ??

Then why are you looking away, you jerk!

Look at me when you're talking, you jerk!

Forget it, no point arguing with a guy who's just a head.

"Have any of you seen that person?" Perona crouched down and asked the children.

"We don't know who you're talking about," a little boy said. "But there really is a child whose name we don't know."

He was quite sure about that!

"Really?!"

Kin'emon exclaimed excitedly, "Then that must be my son."

"Where is he now?"

"I don't know..."

The little boy shook his head. He had only seen that child once and never again after that.

Hearing this, Kin'emon felt disappointed. So they didn't know after all. He had gotten his hopes up for nothing.

"But at least we've confirmed he's on this island, right?" Sanji said calmly.

"That's true."

Kin'emon nodded, regaining his composure.

As long as they were sure he was on this island, things would be easier. The next step was figuring out how to find him.

"By the way."

Usopp glanced curiously at Kin'emon and asked, "Samurai, why can your lower half talk?"

Could this guy be some special kind of Devil Fruit Ability User?

"Talk?"

Kin'emon was taken aback for a moment, then shook his head and said, "No, that wasn't me talking."

"Then what was it?"

"That was a fart~"

"It's one of my special skills~"

Watching Kin'emon demonstrate his special skill, everyone fell into stunned silence.

"Thump!"

After kicking Kin'emon flying, Nami opened her Shark Mouth and roared, "You jerk, what are you doing?!"

They were currently in a sealed room—what was the point of farting?

Kin'emon: ...

He was just showing off his special skill; he meant no harm.

"Sigh."

Meiser, covering his nose, shook his head helplessly, then turned to Merry and said, "Merry, blow it out."

"Mhm."

Merry nodded with a disgusted expression and used her ability to blow the foul air out of the room.

After doing this, Merry flew over to Zoro's shoulder, keeping as far away from Kin'emon as possible.

Noticing Merry's reaction, Kin'emon felt a little awkward. Was he being disliked by a child?

Seeing this, Brook chuckled and said, "Speaking of which... I just ran into someone who was only a torso earlier."

"Yohohohoho~"

"That must be this guy's upper body, right?" Zoro remarked.

"Huh?"

"Oh, you're right!"

Realizing it, Brook immediately wore an expression of sudden understanding.

It really was the same person—even the clothes matched!

"You ran into it?!" Kin'emon exclaimed excitedly. "Where did you see it?"

"Well..."

Brook turned his head slightly, looking a bit embarrassed. How should he explain this?

Kin'emon looked puzzled. What did this skeleton mean?

"You didn't get into a fight with this guy's upper body, did you?" Meiser interjected.

"Huh?"

"How did you know?!"

Brook stared at Meiser in surprise, clearly not expecting him to figure it out.

"Just a guess."

"Yohohohoho~"

"I see."

Brook nodded with a smile and said, "You're right. I did get into a fight with this samurai's upper body."

"Why?"

Merry looked at Brook in confusion and asked, "Why did you two fight?"

Could it be... that Brook provoked him?

"How should I know?"

Brook said helplessly, "I was waiting for you all by the main gate, building a snowman, when this guy's upper body suddenly charged out and started slashing at me wildly."

"If I weren't strong enough, I probably would've been cut down by him."

By the end, Brook sounded a bit annoyed.

That snowman had taken him a lot of effort to build!

"So that's what happened..."

Perona glanced at Kin'emon and said, "Seems like you're not quite as you described yourself."

"Well..."

Kin'emon said awkwardly, "After being cut into three pieces, my upper body couldn't recognize who was around anymore, so..."

He didn't want it to be this way, but what else could a headless torso do?

There's no other way but to protect ourselves by sensing the surrounding aura.

"Hmm, that's true."

Brook nodded in understanding and didn't press further.

After all... this guy really is suffering quite a bit.

Just then, Usopp took out several wooden tags with large headshots of the crewmates and said, "Here, everyone, I made these!"

"What's this?" Nami asked, puzzled.

"Identity tags, of course."

As he spoke, Usopp handed Nami the wooden tag with her portrait on it, then continued, "With these, we won't accidentally mistake each other."

"I see, you actually thought this through quite well," Nami laughed.

After saying that, Nami tied the tag to her clothes so everyone could clearly see who she was.

Seeing this, the others followed suit, taking their tags and tying them on, feeling it was a good idea.

"What about this guy?" Merry pointed at Brownbeard.

At her words, everyone immediately turned their attention to Brownbeard.

Should they take this guy out?

Thinking this, they all looked toward Luffy, since this guy really liked this "vehicle" of theirs.

"Tie him up," Luffy said.

As long as this guy didn't interfere with them, there was no need to take him out.

"Leave it to me!"

Usopp chuckled, then took out a rope and walked over, intending to tie Brownbeard to the huge pillar.

"You..."

Brownbeard pursed his lips. Were these guys looking down on him a bit too much?

Did they really think he'd just surrender without a...

"Hmm?"

"Ahem..."

Hearing Meiser's voice, Brownbeard cleared his throat, then voluntarily walked over to the pillar and said, "Come on, tie me up."

As he spoke, Brownbeard silently comforted himself in his heart.

This wasn't cowardice; this was knowing when to yield... or something like that?

Forget it, never mind. Being obedient now definitely wasn't wrong.

Once Master and the others arrived, they'd capture these people anyway!

Thinking this, a smile returned to Brownbeard's face.

Usopp: ??

Seeing this, Usopp, who was tying him up, immediately showed a puzzled expression.

"Why do you look so happy?"

Who in this day and age gets happy about being tied up?

Could this guy be a pervert...

Thinking this, Usopp instinctively moved away from Brownbeard, giving him a disgusted look.

Brownbeard didn't mind the look, instead grinning and saying, "Of course, because you're all about to be killed~"

"Why do you say that?"

"Because of Law, of course!" Brownbeard raised his head proudly. "He'll definitely come save me!"

After all... he was the very important captain of the Centaur Unit~

Ahahahaha!

"Law coming to save you?"

Meiser gave a strange look. That guy called Law didn't seem to have that intention.

Otherwise, he would have acted just now.

"Of course, he'll definitely come!" Brownbeard said without hesitation. "Because Law is special!"

"Special?"

Luffy looked at Brownbeard, puzzled. What's so special about Trafalgar?

"That's right!" Brownbeard said. "Although they belong to the same generation of pirates as you, he is completely different from all of you!"

As if recalling something, Brownbeard's expression grew rather complicated.

"What do you mean by 'our generation'?"

Brownbeard: ??

Brownbeard stared at Luffy with a face full of question marks—how could the other party not know about this?

"You don't even know about something like this?"

"Should I know?" Luffy asked, puzzled.

Gathering information wasn't his job in the first place, so wasn't it normal for him not to know?

Brownbeard: "I have no idea how you guys even ended up here." Brownbeard said, exasperated.

After saying that, Brownbeard paused briefly before explaining, "The generation of pirates I'm talking about refers to the Supernovas who appeared on Sabaody Archipelago two years ago and Blackbeard, who caused chaos at Marine Headquarters!"

"And you people are called the Worst Generation by the world."

"You were born in the gap between the end of one era and the beginning of another—problem children burdened with the fate of war!"

"After Whitebeard died, you guys turned the New World upside down."

"Almost every time a major incident occurs, there's a trace of you people involved."

By the end, Brownbeard's expression had become extremely complicated.

Who would have thought that these Supernovas from two years ago would stir up so much trouble?

"I didn't know we had such a title," Luffy said, scratching his head.

He hadn't been aware of this.

"Then why do you remember this generation so well?" Perona asked, confused. "Did someone from among them attack you?"

"That's right!"

As soon as this topic was brought up, Brownbeard's expression twisted into a snarl.

"If it weren't for Magician—Basil Hawkins, my legs wouldn't have ended up like this," Brownbeard said through gritted teeth. "If it weren't for my master, I would have killed myself long ago!"

If his master hadn't taken him in as a subordinate, he would have committed suicide!

"What does that have to do with Law?"

"Of course it has something to do with him!"

Brownbeard said, "My lower half was reattached using his ability, and I'm extremely grateful to him!"

So... in his eyes, Law was different!

"The power of the Op-Op Fruit..." Nico Robin turned to look at Kin'emon, who only had a head and a lower body, and said, "No wonder he could turn you all into this."

"In that case, the Half-Goat People we saw earlier in the research facility must also have been created by his ability," Sanji said, holding a cigarette in his mouth.

As he spoke, Sanji recalled the appearance of those goat-people.

Hmm... they were indeed strange.

"That must be the case," Franky said. "Otherwise, there's no way to explain why so many weird people are appearing here."

Listening to Franky's words, Usopp nodded his head.

Now he understood why Centaurs and bird-people were appearing here—it was all because of that Law!

Then, as if remembering something, Usopp said, "By the way, what about that dragon?"

"Was it also created by Law using his ability?"

Come to think of it... that guy's body didn't seem to have any stitched-together parts.

"You saw the dragon, huh." Brownbeard first showed a look of surprise, then said, "That thing is a Super Creature created by Vegapunk, made to protect this island."

"That thing can adapt to any environment, it's very powerful, and also extremely ferocious!"

"So... if you encounter that thing, run away as fast as you can."

By the end, a look of fear appeared on Brownbeard's face, clearly terrified of that legendary creature.

After all... some of his subordinates were eaten by it!

"A dragon..."

Luffy tilted his head in thought upon hearing this, then bared his teeth and said, "Hmm, that thing did taste pretty good."

"Yes, yes, that thing's taste..."

Brownbeard's words trailed off as he froze, then looked at Luffy with a shocked expression and said, "That thing's taste?"

Does this guy know what he's saying?

That... is a terrifying giant dragon!
