While enjoying the scenery along the way, Natsui shared his knowledge about the various Pokémon they encountered with Koharu.
Although Koharu had little contact with Pokémon before, she was very intelligent. Often, Natsui would only mention something casually, and she would be able to commit it to memory.
And thus, she went from being completely ignorant to having a basic understanding.
Just like that, the two of them leisurely walked to the outskirts of Celadon City. They had originally planned to bypass the city and continue westward, but unexpectedly, when they reached the fields outside the city, they ran into an acquaintance.
She was a beautiful girl around eighteen or nineteen, with long black hair, wearing an elegant furisode.
Just from her back, attire, and quiet, ladylike aura, Natsui had already recognized her.
It was the Celadon Gym Leader—Erika!
At this moment, Erika was accompanied by an Eevee, with a basket placed beside her. She was crouching by a patch of flowers, holding scissors and a trowel, seemingly trimming something.
As they approached, the Eevee saw Natsui and Koharu and barked at them warily a few times.

"Let me introduce you." Natsui took a step back, bringing Koharu forward. "This is Koharu, the daughter of the famous Professor Sakuragi of the Kanto region. She's still in school. Koharu, this is Erika. Don't let her young age fool you, she's the Gym Leader of Celadon City."
"Hello, I'm Erika."

"Hello, Miss Erika. My name is Koharu."
