As the second form of Horsea, the evolved Seadra was undoubtedly more powerful. Its body was covered in hard horns and poisonous spikes, its tail was curled, and its mouth had changed from its previous cylindrical shape to a triangular one.
According to Pokémon observers, a mere touch of the fins on Seadra's back could instantly paralyze a person, and at night, they would wrap their tails tightly around coral to avoid being swept away by the current while sleeping.
Due to its small size, Seadra naturally possessed agile movement in the water. Compared to it, Blastoise's body was undoubtedly much larger, making it appear quite clumsy by comparison.
However, Blastoise was not without its advantages. Its mouth, combined with the two cannons on its back, allowed it to use three Water Guns simultaneously. Thus, even if its precision was inferior to Seadra's, it could make up for this deficiency in sheer quantity.
On the other side, perhaps wanting to showcase her and the Orange League's strength in front of the Kanto champion so as not to be looked down upon, Cissy turned and had Tad bring out a bubble machine to give Natsui a small demonstration.
"Our Gym's style is to combine Pokémon moves with sports as our competition events. In these three trials, as long as you can win one more than me, your challenge will be considered a success. So now, let me give you a demonstration so you can see for yourself!"
With that, Tad blew on the bubble machine, and instantly, six or seven bubbles the size of ping-pong balls flew out, floating towards the sky.
Without waiting for Cissy's command, the Seadra in the pool shot out needle-thin jets of water from its mouth, popping the bubbles one by one!
Pop, pop, pop.
Natsui applauded.
Short, fast, and precise!
Although the diameter of the Water Gun had been reduced by more than ten times and was only a short burst, it had to be said that to use every Water Gun in such a manner showed that this Seadra's mastery of the move was truly outstanding!
Most other trainers would only try to find ways to make their Pokémon's moves bigger, stronger, and longer-lasting. Very few would go in the opposite direction and pursue such a degree of precision.
"That's truly amazing. Compared to your Seadra, my Blastoise certainly can't achieve that level of skill. But since I'm here, I won't give up so easily!"

At this point, the two Pokémon were floating at opposite ends of the pool. Seeing that they were ready, after Cissy shouted "Begin!", two streams of water, one thick and one thin, shot out from the left and right simultaneously, hitting the empty cans in front of them!

The number of cans on both sides rapidly decreased. Struck by the water guns, the cans made a crisp sound as they were sent spinning into the air.
Natsui watched the competition calmly.
Compared to Seadra, no matter how much Blastoise tried to compress its Water Gun, it could never be as fine or as fast. However, this competition was about who could hit the most cans. Even if it couldn't hit the dead center of the can every time like Seadra, Blastoise's thick stream of water was like a fist; as long as it grazed the edge, it could still send the can flying!
However, seeing Seadra's speed increasing and Blastoise gradually falling behind, Natsui still gave the command, "Blastoise, use multiple Water Guns!"
The two cannons on Blastoise's back fired Water Guns at the same time. Instantly, three jets of water shot towards the cans in a triangular formation!
Although it couldn't guarantee that every stream of water would hit a can, with each volley, one or two would always hit an extra target!

Seeing this, Tad shouted anxiously, "Sister, he's cheating! He's using three Water Guns!"

After all, this was a unique part of Blastoise's body structure and didn't count as using an external aid. Besides, before the competition began, she hadn't specified how many Water Guns could be used at once.

With the help of its two cannons, Blastoise made a comeback, and the number of cans it had hit soon drew level with Seadra's. When both Pokémon knocked over their final cans at the same time, the result was clear.
Cissy let out an imperceptible sigh, then put on a smile and praised, "Your Blastoise did well. It seems we've ended in a tie this time."
In truth, her words were not entirely sincere. Hitting empty cans was Seadra's specialty, and before they started, she never would have imagined that it would end in a draw!
However, Cissy was not discouraged. She was equally confident in the next event.
And for Natsui, a draw was actually a pretty good result.
It had to be said that this was the first time Blastoise had ever controlled its Water Gun with such precision. He had originally been prepared for defeat, but despite the element of luck, who would have thought that Blastoise would come through and give him such a pleasant surprise!
Just then, Cissy pressed the remote control again. After the sound of gears turning, a wall on the side of the Gym opened up, slowly retracting upwards and downwards!
Instantly, the wall disappeared. Outside the Gym, under the blue sky and sea, the leaves of the coconut trees swayed gently, and a refreshing sea breeze blew in from outside, brushing against their faces and invigorating their spirits!
"Next up is a moving target competition. Seadra, show them how it's done again!"
As usual, Cissy had Seadra give a demonstration to explain the rules. As she spoke, a clay pigeon machine in the corner started up. The next second, a red frisbee was launched from the machine, flying high into the sky outside the Gym.
In the pool, Seadra held its breath. When the frisbee reached its highest point, it tensed its abdomen, and in an instant, a jet of water shot out from its mouth, shattering the target!
Pop, pop, pop!
Watching the frisbee break into countless pieces and fall to the ground, Natsui applauded again.
"Clean, sharp, and a direct hit. It seems your Seadra is very well-trained!"
Hearing his words, Cissy lifted her chin slightly, then turned her gaze to Natsui.
"A moving frisbee is much harder to hit than a stationary can. If you're not careful, you'll miss your chance. So, this is the second event. Are you ready?"
