Chapter 219 - Chapter 218: The Festival Song

Ash hurried forward a few steps to the shrine, took out an orb with electricity flickering inside, and fitted it into the recess on the stone tablet.

Under everyone's watchful eyes, the three orbs sat there quietly side by side. However, after several seconds of waiting, nothing strange happened!

"Strange? Why is there no reaction?" Ash stood there foolishly, then turned to Melody. "Are these just ordinary decorations? Or do they not actually have the power to stop the fighting?"

However, Melody showed no signs of panic. Instead, she said softly, "Just wait, you'll see."

Just as everyone was puzzled, the three orbs suddenly burst into a brilliant light.

The light grew brighter and brighter, finally merging into one soft, green glow that formed a screen of light, instantly filling the entire shrine!

Then, a strong wind blew out from the center of the stone tablet, directly blowing away all the nearby snow!

Flowers bloomed everywhere, and a sweet fragrance filled the air, as if everything had returned to its original state.

The next second, a large amount of glowing green liquid flowed out from under the stone tablet, filling the circular groove at the bottom and slowly covering the stone pillars next to the shrine.

Only then did everyone see that the stone slab beneath the shrine was densely carved with strange symbols.

Just looking at the eerie color, they cautiously took a step back, their minds racing with speculation.

It's so green. It's not some kind of terrifying poison, is it...

Fortunately, just then, Melody slowly walked to the center of the shrine and took out her strangely shaped ocarina.

She placed the instrument to her lips, closed her eyes, and with a light movement of her fingers, began to play the first note.

Ooooh-wooooh...

A melodious tune flowed from the ocarina. And when the sound waves hit the stone pillars, they seemed to possess some kind of magic, causing them to resonate. The pillars began to flash in a rhythmic pattern and, like amplifiers, carried the sound far away to other places!

The music had a calming effect on the mind. At least, after hearing it, Natsui felt his tense nerves completely relax.

And the Pokémon in the midst of battle, upon hearing the music, all lost their will to fight. They landed on the ground, listening intently. Even the god of thunder, which had fainted earlier, opened its eyes and slowly awoke.

Wooooh-wooooh-wooooh...

The music continued, and the green liquid sprayed out like a fountain, flowing from the shrine into the sea and spreading rapidly in all directions.

They could see that wherever the green liquid went, all the ice and snow melted away.

The effect was as visible and effective as pouring detergent into a bowl of greasy water.

At the same time, the music completely pacified the anger in the hearts of the three divine birds. After circling a few times, they all turned and left in unison, heading straight back to their own islands.

In truth, after fighting for so long, these creatures were already exhausted. Even without the music, they wouldn't have been able to last much longer.

High in the sky, Lugia also took the opportunity to use its power, raising a massive waterspout from the sea that swept away all the dark clouds, revealing the long-absent sun.

It seemed that, although it ended a bit anticlimactically, the matter had finally come to a rough close.

Faced with such a rare sight, Natsui, as usual, took out his phone to take a photo as a memento.

Just then, Lugia flew over the shrine again, slowly descending, and expressed its gratitude to the group via telepathy.

'The two commanders, and this pacifier, thank you for everything you have done, and thank you for protecting this world!'

The two commanders it spoke of were, of course, Natsui and Ash. In this battle, they had a clear division of labor: one sought the treasures while the other held the line. Both had played an important role!

As for the pacifier, that referred to Melody. After all, the festival song she played, also known as Lugia's Song, was the key to ending the battle!

Melody lowered her ocarina. Seeing that the fighting had indeed been stopped, she breathed a sigh of relief. She then placed her hands on her chest, looked up at Lugia, and said gratefully, "We are the ones who should be thanking you. Thank you, god of the sea. Thank you for protecting Shamouti Island and maintaining the balance of the three divine birds for so long."

At this point, the TV crew, after their initial shock of seeing Legendary Pokémon, finally turned their attention to the humans. And seeing the handsome man among them, they recognized Natsui's identity at a glance.

Isn't that the newly crowned champion of this year's Indigo Conference from our Kanto region!?

But what is he doing here!?

Could this incident be related to him!?

With no time to think, the TV crew quickly aimed their cameras at Natsui. After all, the champion, Lugia, the three divine birds, a battle of the century, and strange weather across various regions—connecting these keywords would surely make for a sensational story!

However, before they could start recording, Professor Oak had already walked in front of the cameras and stopped them.

"Gentlemen, I'm very sorry," Professor Oak said. "But please do not broadcast what has happened here."

"Huh?" The staff was taken aback. "Why is that?"

Professor Oak chuckled. "Although it is connected to the strange weather in other regions, it does involve several Legendary Pokémon. To avoid causing a panic among the public, I think it's best to turn a blind eye."

"Professor Oak is right," Professor Ivy added. "Let's just let this matter pass. As a part of the Orange Archipelago, I also hope that they will not be disturbed by outsiders."

"Well..."

The crew members looked at each other. As news professionals, having a story but not being able to report it was very frustrating.

However…

Professor Oak was an influential figure in the Pokémon world, and Professor Ivy was an authority in this region. No matter who they were, they had to give them face.

Therefore, after a moment's thought, they made the difficult decision and reluctantly agreed.

But they couldn't help but think it was a shame. If this footage got out, their ratings would have definitely skyrocketed!

Lugia had also finished its thanks and, once again flying high into the sky, bid farewell to Natsui and the others.

'Then, until we meet again!'

With that, it leaped into the sea and disappeared from sight, continuing to exist in people's hearts as the Legendary Pokémon of the Orange Archipelago.

And watching the sea surface calm down, Natsui naturally wanted to catch this Legendary Pokémon as well, but now was clearly not the time.

Besides, they had just fought side-by-side. He really couldn't bring himself to do it.

Sigh, forget it. I'll probably run into another Lugia in the future anyway. I'll think about it then...

"By the way, Natsui," just then, Misty, knowing that Natsui hadn't met Professor Ivy, took the initiative to speak up. "You haven't met Professor Ivy yet, have you? Let me introduce you. This is Professor Ivy. Like Professor Oak, she is also a famous Pokémon Professor!"
