Natsui first went to buy two tickets, and then he and Sabrina passed through security and boarded the passenger ship.
It had to be said, their timing was perfect.
Since Murcott Island was not a major commercial hub or a densely populated center, not many large ships docked there each day.
If they had been just a dozen minutes later, they would have missed this ship. The next one with a similar route wouldn't pass by until the following evening at the earliest.
In the sky, a few bird Pokémon flew overhead, screeching as they headed towards the bug-infested forest. It was unclear whether they were going to feed or to hunt the Bug-type Pokémon there.
Walking up the gangway to the deck, Natsui looked around and noticed that although the ship wasn't very large—likely a short-distance ferry that traveled between the various islands of the Orange Archipelago—its interior was surprisingly luxurious.
Not only was it adorned with exquisite crystal chandeliers, giving it a magnificent golden glow, but the corridors were also lined with various decorative items. There was even a heavy red carpet running down the center of the deck, extending all the way into the ship's cabin.
"The Orange Archipelago really lives up to its reputation as a region with a thriving tourism industry. To think that even a random ship would be so extravagant!" Natsui remarked, taking his eyes off a well-crafted Horsea-shaped handle. He then smiled at Sabrina, "It seems we made a wise choice not to ride Charizard!"
Hearing this, Sabrina couldn't help but roll her eyes at him, not wanting to bother with this country bumpkin.
Honestly, it wasn't even your idea in the first place. What's there to be so happy about?
Since they had booked a room with a large bed, the two of them entered the cabin, found their room, settled their luggage, and then went out to the restaurant.
At this point in their relationship, after several intimate encounters, although neither of them had explicitly defined it, they had both tacitly agreed that they could now share a room and a bed.
Walking through the ship's cabin, Natsui looked around and had to admit that compared to flying on Charizard, while traveling by ship took a bit longer, it was far more relaxing and comfortable.
They could sit on a comfortable sofa, watch TV, and leisurely enjoy the journey.
No sea breeze blowing in their faces, no worries about being caught in a rainstorm—it was something Charizard simply couldn't compare to.
However, a journey like this was fine once in a while. If he indulged in it too much, it would greatly dull his will and also defeat the purpose of training along the way.
But for some reason, this luxurious passenger ship reminded him of the S.S. Anne…
Oops, that's not a good sign. Better not to overthink it. Let's just hope this ship has a safe voyage.
As they entered the restaurant, the handsome couple immediately attracted a lot of attention.
In terms of both looks and demeanor, most of the passengers thought the two were a perfect match at first glance, and many couldn't help but stare at them secretly.
Finding a seat by the window, Natsui first played the gentleman and pulled out the chair for Sabrina, then called a waiter and ordered a lavish and rather expensive lunch.
The main course was premium beef air-freighted from the Paldea region. Pan-fried to perfection, it was incredibly delicious. Paired with some specialty side dishes, it left a lasting, wonderful aftertaste.
All one could say was, although it was a bit pricey, it was worth every penny. It was absolutely delicious.
On a stage in the distance, a pianist played soft music.
In this elegant environment, Natsui and Sabrina ate slowly, savoring the moment.
After they had eaten their fill, Natsui leaned back and glanced out the window. He happened to see a group of idle trainers on the ship's stern deck, who had spontaneously organized a Pokémon battle tournament on a simple battlefield.
Their seats offered a perfect, unobstructed view of the battlefield.
Watching them sweat and battle, Natsui felt a wave of nostalgia, reminded of his former self.
"Sigh, time really flies," he remarked. "Back then, when I came from Kalos to Kanto, I was all alone with just my Ralts. I used to battle on ships just like them to hone my skills. Thinking back, it was a wonderful and memorable time."
Since Natsui rarely talked about his past, Sabrina listened very attentively.
She imagined the scene in her mind. It must have been very difficult to cross the ocean alone to challenge a new, unfamiliar land…
Just then, a cheer erupted from the deck.
The two looked over and saw that a strong male trainer had just defeated an opponent, achieving a five-win streak.
Such an achievement indicated that this trainer's skills were indeed outstanding.
Natsui couldn't help but look at the trainer. He was about eighteen or nineteen years old, dressed in athletic gear, with a green ribbon tied around his messy, ear-length hair.
However, his attire made him look less like a trainer and more like a no-holds-barred fighter.
Averting his gaze from him, Natsui looked back at Sabrina.
Seeing the clear interest in his eyes, she said softly, "What is it? Does he remind you of your past self?"
Natsui hummed in agreement, then chuckled. "The experience is a bit similar, but this guy is not as handsome as me!"
"Conceited!"
Rolling her eyes at him again, Sabrina let out a light laugh, then said gently, "So? Do you want to give it a try?"
Natsui nodded and smiled. "I was thinking about it. Consider it some post-meal exercise. Want to come with?"
Sabrina didn't speak, but her actions showed that she would naturally follow his lead.
The two left the restaurant and went to the stern deck, just in time to see the trainer defeat another opponent.
"Amazing, that's six wins in a row!"
"He's on a completely different level! No one is a match for him!"
The crowd buzzed with discussion. The trainer, with wide eyes, scanned the area, picking his next opponent.
"Another one down! Well? Is there anyone else who's not convinced and wants to challenge me!?"
Silence fell. Everyone looked at each other, but no one wanted to step forward.
"Sigh, what a letdown!"
The trainer muttered again. Just as he thought no one else dared to challenge him, a steady male voice suddenly came from the back of the crowd.
"If no one else is up for it, then let me give it a try."
