Chapter 107 I Want to See a Flying Man
"Why do you say that Petyr kissed you forcibly? You know that Mrs. Lysa and Petyr had just gotten married. Couldn't you have dodged it?"
Sansa was about to continue when she was interrupted by a slightly younger member of the alliance named Horton.
"I…I dare not…" Sansa said, tears streaming down her face.
"Why wouldn't you dare? Do you think Petyr would force you if you didn't want to?" Horton glanced at Petyr, who was frowning, and continued to ask.
"I…I know that this is the only way I can return to Winterfell in the North. Otherwise, I would have died in King's Landing long ago and would never have come to the Eyrie."
After Sansa finished speaking, the allies recalled her account of her ordeal in King's Landing. With her father killed and no one in King's Landing helping her, how did a little girl survive under the watchful eyes of the Lannisters?
"Sansa, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that. You know I was just trying to make the interrogation more impartial," Horton said apologetically, understanding Sansa's meaning.
"You're right, sir. I should have hidden myself then, otherwise Aunt Lysa wouldn't have seen me, and..."
Sansa wiped away her tears and continued, "Unexpectedly, my aunt Lysa on the second floor saw that scene. She rushed down, grabbed my hair, and dragged me toward the moon gate, calling me a little slut and asking me why I kissed Lord Petyr. I was terrified and could only hold onto the moon gate to avoid being pushed down by my aunt."
"At this moment, Lord Petyr pulled Aunt Lysa away to calm her down, but Aunt Lysa was still very agitated."
"Just then, I don't know what Lord Petyr said to my aunt, but she suddenly stopped struggling, and then... then I saw Lord Petyr push my aunt down the moon gate. It's all my fault..."
"Lysa fell down the Moon Gate by accident. I didn't push her. Sansa, I rescued you from King's Landing. Why did you hurt me?" As soon as Sansa finished speaking, Petyr could no longer sit still and stood up to question her.
"I'm sorry, Lord Petyr. My aunt may be a little jealous, but she doesn't deserve to die. I can't…" Faced with Petyr's accusation, Sansa cried and kept apologizing.
"Petty, yesterday you said that Lady Lysa committed suicide by jumping off the Moon Gate, but when Sansa told the truth, you said she fell off the Moon Gate accidentally. When will you ever tell the truth?"
Jon was extremely disgusted to see Petyr criticizing Sansa, as he himself despised Petyr's character.
"Lord Jon, please listen to me. It must be something Arya said yesterday that led Sansa to frame me. Sansa didn't say that yesterday."
Petyr continued to argue for himself, never expecting that what he had taught Sansa would be used on him so quickly.
Hearing Petyr bring up her sister Arya again, Sansa continued through tears, "My poor sister Arya was captured by the Gold Robes and forced into hard labor not long after she managed to escape King's Landing."
"Luckily, she cut her hair so the Golden Robe wouldn't recognize her. After finally escaping from there, she thought of seeking refuge with her Aunt Lysa, but little did she know that her aunt... Arya knew nothing about this, so why would she tell me anything?"
"Guards! Take Petyr away and lock him in the dungeon. No one is to release him without our permission!" Jon had no more interest in listening to Petyr's excuses.
"Lord Jon, you can't do this! I am not only Lysa's husband, but also the former Chancellor of the Exchequer of King's Landing. My marriage to Lysa was approved by King's Landing. You can't treat me like this!"
Petyr knew the consequences of being confirmed to have murdered the former Duchess of the Eyrie: he would likely be pushed through the Moon Gate, or at best, be imprisoned in the Skydeck.
He knew exactly what the Heavenly Prison was. It was one of the several open-air caves in Eagle's Nest City located on the edge of a cliff. There were no walls on the side facing the cliff, and it was completely exposed to the air. If you accidentally rolled over while sleeping, you could fall off a hundred-meter cliff.
Even if they weren't executed, they might freeze to death if they were imprisoned there for too long.
Hearing Petyr's words, Jon was slightly worried, but he ignored Petyr's shouts and let the guards take him away.
Arya, who was waiting outside the interrogation room, saw Petyr struggling to be taken away and knew that her sister Sansa had not disappointed her. When she saw Sansa coming out crying, she immediately ran over and hugged her, and the two sisters cried together.
Sandor the Hound, watching this scene from afar, couldn't help but feel sorry for Petyr the Littlefinger. He was once a powerful figure in King's Landing, yet he had been tricked into this state by two Stark girls.
The three noble patriarchs of Eagle's Nest were completely fooled by them.
After Petyr was taken away, the three members of the League of Righteous Men held an emergency meeting to discuss how to deal with him.
The murderer who dared to kill the former Duchess should certainly be thrown out of the Moon Gate, but as Petyr said, he was not an ordinary criminal, and executing him required King's Landing's consent.
Unable to reach a decision, the three could only temporarily imprison Petyr in the Heavenly Prison, awaiting a report to King's Landing before making a final decision.
The next day, when the Justice League did not deliver its decision on Petyr, Sansa and Arya grew anxious.
On the third day, Lysa's son Robin suddenly burst into Jon's room, where he was dealing with some business, and demanded that Petyr, who had killed his mother, be pushed out of the Moon Gate so he could see people fly.
Yorn had planned to inform Robin of the results of Petyr's interrogation after receiving news from King's Landing, but he did not expect Robin to find out so quickly.
He also had a lot of headaches with Robin. She was frail and sickly from childhood, and had a strange temper. She did not inherit the wisdom of her father, Duke Erin, but was as capricious as her mother, Lysa.
"Duke Arryn, whether or not to deal with Petyr depends on King's Landing's decision," Yorn could only patiently explain to Robin.
"I am the Duke of the Vale. My mother was murdered. Am I not allowed to avenge her? Should I wait for King's Landing's decision?" Robin became even angrier when Yorn mentioned King's Landing.
"But if we kill Petyr without authorization, it will be difficult to explain when King's Landing comes to punish us."
"I don't care, I want to see the Flying Man! Where's Littlefinger? I'm going to find him!" Robin said, pulling Jon away.
Jon struggled twice but couldn't break free from Robin's grasp, so he could only take Robin to the dungeon where Petyr was imprisoned, hoping that Robin would remember their past relationship and let him go for the time being.
After spending two days in the dungeon, enduring the cold winds and sleeping on the bare, icy ground at night, Petyr felt that it was colder here than in the North. If he wasn't released soon, he would freeze to death here.
Just as he was shivering from the cold, the prison gates suddenly opened, and two guards stood at the door, with Jon and Robin standing outside.
