Water dripped somewhere in the distance. The sound echoed endlessly through the underground passage. No laughter from the celebration reached this place, no music, no voices...only silence and the sound of the dripping water.
It's the kind of silence that made one feel as though the world above no longer existed.

The deeper she went, the older the tunnel seemed to become. Ancient support arches appeared at intervals. Faded markings had been carved into the stone long ago by hands now reduced to dust.
