Those words reeled through Audrey's mind in the minute it took her to grasp what Tyler meant.
She shoved against him and he finally released her. The satisfied grin remained on his face as he watched her flinch in confusion.
"What…You can't…I'm not your mate."
His lips twisted. "You can't deny it." He jabbed a finger in the general direction of her heart. "You feel it there." The finger trailed down to her crotch. "And there."
Stars sparked in her vision and she tilted to the side, stumbling. Warm arms wrapped around her waist to anchor her.
She looked up to find Tristan peering at her. There was a mixture of endearment and concern in his eyes.
She stared at Tyler, a picture of smugness and arrogance. Polar opposites.
"You're not my mate."
His jaws flexed, the darkness sipping in. "Everything says the opposite."
Tristan growled. "You should go when I'm still being sane, Blacky. You won't get a second chance."
