His head was heavy on my shoulder.
I couldn't move. I didn't want to move.
My fingers were still on his lips—soft, slightly parted, the faint brush of his breath against my skin every time he exhaled. I don't know what possessed me to touch him like that.
One second I was just looking at him sleeping, thinking how unfairly beautiful he was, and the next my hand was on his face like it had a mind of its own.
He looked so harmless like this. No cold eyes. No cruel words ready to cut me down.

My thumb moved on its own, tracing the curve of his bottom lip. Soft. Warm.
