Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Massive Destruction

An announcement went out across every social network telling people to stay in their homes, but 80% of the world ignored it. It was a calm, crowded day, and it seemed like everything would turn out fine. It didn't.

Without warning, Bosses 11, 12, and 13 burst out of a volcano and began wreaking destruction on a national scale. When the protagonists saw the news, they leapt to their feet and each went off to play his part as a hero. Kiro raced at supersonic speed to Moscow to face Boss 12. Worh headed to Mexico City to take on Boss 11. Sone and Sebastián went to Brasília to fight Boss 13.

Kiro was the first to arrive.

*I have to beat him as fast as I can so I can help the others, and the civilians too,* he thought.

An explosion caught his attention, and he rushed toward it. When he got there, he found piles of corpses. As he turned his head, a punch from Boss 12 slammed into him.

"Hahaha, you're weak. You'll make a fine toy for me," said Skike, Boss 12.

*He's mocking me without even knowing who I am? He'll fall faster for it,* Kiro thought.

The battle began with Kiro throwing a punch, but the Boss dodged and caught him on the jaw, sending Kiro flying upward. Kiro recovered in midair and drove a quick ninja kick into the Boss, who smashed into a building and brought it down around him.

"You're strong, but not like me," Kiro said.

He rushed at the Boss again, but the Boss got up and swung. Kiro reacted in time and slipped the blow.

"Using tricks, huh? Then I'll use one too," Kiro said.

He clenched one fist with all his strength.

"Face Strike!"

The punch landed and shattered the Boss's face, killing him instantly.

"You're just another opponent for my fists," Kiro said.

He turned and walked away, leaving the corpse in the ruined building.

Meanwhile, Worh was surveying the part of Mexico City that Boss 11 had destroyed when he heard a girl scream. He ran toward the sound. When he arrived, he found the girl's lifeless body, and then Boss 11 attacked him from behind. Worh caught him in a hold and slammed him into the ground.

"Trying to ambush me?" Worh said.

"Hahaha, you're fast, but you're distracted," said Dish, Boss 11.

Dish fired a red energy blast from his hand. Worh couldn't react in time and took it head-on. He was blasted into a row of buildings, which collapsed under the impact. He climbed out of the rubble, a little hurt and covered in dust.

"Pathetic. One hit and you're already hurt," Dish sneered.

With that, the Boss began hurling red blasts at him without pause. Worh took them without being able to react, his body badly damaged, his patience gone. He couldn't take any more.

"Damn it! I'll kill you!" Worh roared.

With a shout, he deflected the blasts, then used his sonic speed to smash a punch into Boss 11's face. The Boss flew through building after building, but that wasn't enough for Worh. He stomped, appeared behind him, and began hammering him with both fists, again and again without stopping. The Boss's body was destroyed, and only ashes were left.

"Don't gloat before the fight is over," Worh said.

With that, he left.

In Brasília, city after city lay in ruins. Sone and Sebastián were walking through one of them when a building came hurtling toward them. Sone used his sonic speed to dodge it. Sebastián leapt through one of its windows, then used his speed to get out the other side just before the building crashed and exploded.

"Is the Boss around here?" Sone asked.

"That was close," Sebastián said. "But he might be right above us."

They looked up and saw Boss 13 in a black hood and cape, holding a building in his hands. He threw it and lunged at them. He drove a punch into each of their stomachs before they could react, and the blow sent Sone and Sebastián flying through building after building. They finally crashed into one sturdier than the rest. Sone was the first to get back on his feet, and Sebastián followed, in worse shape than Sone.

"I didn't even see that hit coming," Sone said. "And I feel so weak with these wounds."

"I'm hurt worse than you," Sebastián said. "I can barely move my body."

Boss 13 appeared five kilometers away from them.

"Pathetic. You couldn't even take a single blow from me," said Wicca, Boss 13.

He said it in a cold, contemptuous tone. Sone heard it and walked toward him. Wicca only watched him coldly, his face showing nothing. Sone started to run, curled into a ball, and, faster than the Boss could react, struck him in ball form and sent him ten kilometers back, though it left not a scratch on him.

"You're far too weak for me. You're nothing but scum. You're not in my league," Wicca said coldly and contemptuously.

"Why don't you shut up? You're the scum here, destroying things for no reason," Sone shot back.

"You're right about one thing, the reason," Wicca said. "I only follow my master's orders."

"What master? Who is he?" Sone asked.

"I won't tell you any more. I'll simply carry on with what I was sent to do," Wicca said.

With that, Boss 13 used his speed to appear in front of Sone and threw a punch, but at the last moment a blow of fire and water struck him. Wicca crashed into a building, and when he looked closer, he saw Sebastián, but different. A blue aura surrounded him. When Sebastián lifted his head, his face was streaked with tears, his eyes were blue, and his hair glowed with blue light.

"You dare destroy without any reason? Then I'll kill you with my own hands," Sebastián said in Sorrow Mode.

"You'll kill me? I'd like to see you try, mortal," Wicca said.

At the speed of light, Sebastián drove a knee into Boss 13's stomach. Wicca spat blood and was blasted away, tearing through buildings. Sebastián pressed his arms together and gathered a blue power in his hands, then hurled it at the Boss. Wicca reacted fast and sprang up to the height of a building, but the blue attack hit one of the buildings and set off a huge explosion that reached all the way to him.

"Damn it, you wretched bastard!" Wicca screamed.

The explosion slammed into him. Boss 13 began to burn and tried to shield himself with his arms. As if that weren't enough, Sebastián raised a hand and pulled Wicca out of the fire. The Boss was dragged toward him, and when he was close, Sebastián struck him with a blow charged with the blue energy of sorrow and tears. Boss 13 screamed in agony as the energy consumed him, and he could do nothing. When the blue energy thinned out a little, Boss 13 was dead, and only a trickle of ash fell.

Sebastián closed his eyes and opened them again, looked around, and saw Sone. He hurried over and helped him stay upright, letting Sone lean an arm on his shoulder.

Kiro and Worh had already returned home. Sebastián and Sone got back a little later.

"What happened to you two?" Kiro asked.

"We ran into Boss 13, and it was rough at first," Sebastián said.

"His speed was incredible, but Sebastián managed to beat him," Sone added.

"I think it was a new emotion that took over my body," Sebastián said. "You could say it turns into power, but I still don't control it. My emotions take complete control of my body."

"Another emotion, like when we fought Boss 5? You're full of surprises," Worh said.

Sone went to bed and lay down. Kiro and Worh stayed in the living room. Sebastián went to the kitchen and started cooking.

*I was too weak,* Sone thought. *I hit Boss 13 and then took a punch without even reacting. When I've recovered a little, I'll go train to get stronger and show that I'm strong too.*

Sone was determined to train and not be left behind.

Four days later, Sone was training, though he was still very weak, and he didn't care. He started running and circled the globe to improve his speed. He trained his reflexes with the help of a licensed arms dealer, who fired a machine gun at him. He strapped huge stones to his back and ran with them. He punched sandbags and boulders. Sone was getting stronger.

The days went by, and Sone stepped up his training, now trying to run with a three-meter boulder on his back. The arms dealer switched to a more powerful, faster weapon. Sone's improved reflexes let him dodge the shots, but he wanted to sharpen them even more. Using his strength, he began smashing rocks and punching mountains.

After two weeks, Sone had grown stronger, and his body had fully recovered.

"Now I'm stronger," Sone said. "The next time a Boss shows up and insults me, I'll give him a humiliation he'll remember for the rest of his existence. I'll pay you back for it, Bosses!"

With that, Sone was ready for the arrival of the next Boss.
