Although one question had been answered, a hundred more rose at once.
First of all, why was Amaras here, sitting inside her apartment as though she belonged in this world?
And second, why the hell was she wearing Claire's face?
"Oh God…"
The shock made Claire stumble backward, her vision swimming. She nearly lost her balance, but her fingers caught the edge of the doorframe and held fast, her knuckles turning white.
Her heart pounded painfully in her chest.
"What is happening?" she demanded, her voice trembling. "What are you doing here? What do you want from me? And why are you wearing my face?"
