Chapter 14 - CHAPTER 14

*Flashback *

When we reached there, Maya was standing in the corridor....

Varun called out to her, and as she turned around, tears began to fall from her eyes.

I first looked towards Mansi and then towards Ruhaan. We were all in confusion. Then Varun went to her and hugged her. She hugged him back, and then she started crying even more loudly.

Seeing her cry like that was really making me sad.

Then Mansi came close to my ear and asked, "Why are you crying?" I looked at her and said, "I'm not crying." But seeing her like that was really bothering me. I had barely finished speaking when Mansi looked at me like I was some kind of criminal.

"Don't look at me like that." I said

Then we went to both of them

. Maya was still crying on his shoulder.

I gently called out to her,

"Maya,

what's wrong? You can tell us everything. We're all listening, to you

."She looked at me and then begun to speak .

"Varun and I," she said, looking at Varun, "have been together for three years,

and no one at my house knew about it until recently. A few days ago, we went out, and when Varun dropped me home, somehow my dad saw us. When I went inside, Dad asked me about Varun.

'Who is that boy?' he asked.

I told him he's just a friend.

'So, you're going out with this friend?' he said

Dad and I had a big argument that day.

And, my Dad is the MLA of Bangalore."

My eyes widened.

"MLA!! Oh my god, Varun, found a girl and she's an MLA's daughter!" Wowww ... I whispered softly, barely audible.

Maya continued,

"So, it's not hard for him to find out anything. They've gotten all of Varun's details and threatened me to stay away from him, so his honor isn't tarnished. Otherwise, it won't be good for him.

And Dad also said if I don't listen to him , he might do something to himself also because his honor is more important to him."

"That day when you both came to my house, Maya said, looking at Ashvi and Ruhan, "Dad was watching me closely,

that's why I told you both to leave. Otherwise, I would have told you everything that day. Even today, I've come here with great difficulty."

"

Maya was telling all this,

"While Ruhaan's gaze was somewhere else ....

He couldn't take his eyes off Ashvi,

watching how her expressions changed dramatically with each of Maya's words.

He was just staring at her, and ,

a small smile appeared on his face. Then he softly said, "Cutely dramatic.";-

Hearing that, Ashvi looked at him,

and for a moment, they both got lost in each other's eyes.

"Calm down, Varun," Mansi said. Only then they notice that Varun was furious, and Mansi and Maya were trying to calm him down.

"Varun,"

Ashvi called out to him.

"If you get this angry, Maya's dad will never agree. Instead, he'll think this is how you are. The situation is already problematic; don't make it more complicated."

"We'll figure out something,

don't worry.

For now, let's just go with the flow. Your dad hasn't mentioned marriage yet, have they?" Ashvi asked.

"No, Dad said once my education is complete. They've already discussed my marriage with one of their friend's son, who's also in politics," Maya replied.

"Perfect, so we have time. But for now, it's better if you two keep a low profile. For both your sakes," Ashvi added.

"Yes! Since the meddler said so, it must be true. They must have a lot of experience with cases like these," Ruhaan teased, her , and everyone burst out laughing. Ashvi shot him a look.

", and if Uncle accidentally finds out, just tell him Ashvi Mehra taught you everything," Mansi said and high-fived Ruhaan.

Ashvi looked at mansi with a betrayed expression

*Present*

"I'm explaining all this to Yash, and he's listening silently. As soon as I finished speaking, he nodded his head and said,

'That's the thing,' and then a smile appeared on his face, and he said, 'So, you're the love guru for Varun and Maya.'"

"I'm not anyone's love guru, ;but it feels good when someone's love story has a happy ending. It feels like, okay, someone's story has been completed. Not everyone gets a proper ending in life."

Her voice started to break as she spoke, and Yash noticed. He gently placed his hand on top of her hand She looked up.

"Sometimes, stories don't have a proper ending because they aren't over yet. Our story is headed in a different direction, where a perfectly imperfect ending awaits us."

Ashvi stared at Yash for a long time and then said

, "You're going to do an MBA? Get out of here, become Shakespeare instead.

" Yash laughed upon hearing her words and said,

"But I have to do MBA; otherwise, who will take care of the family business?"

She narrowed her eyes and said, "Think carefully about my idea...

I'll definitely think about it, since it's your idea." He said

And then both of them burst out laughing.

Just then, the rest of the group arrived, and Ashvi's mom said, "Dinner was wonderful today."

"But Mom, we haven't had dinner yet!" Ashvi complained, and upon hearing her words, everyone started laughing and said, "Let's go get dinner then."
