I stared back at Maren, who was glaring daggers at me.
If looks could maim and kill, I would be bleeding and half dead by now from just this man's eyes.
"I'm not trying to unravel what you have accomplished so far," I said.
"I'm just trying to remind everyone that the balance in the body is very delicate and forcing it into some things can be detrimental."
He glared at me for a long, seething moment before he turned to bow stiffly toward the Grand Elders.
"If that is your decision, then I have nothing further to say." He then turned sharply and strode out, the stomping echo of his footsteps fading out into the corridor.
The doors opened to let him out, then closed again as the guards standing by the sides closed them.
When he was gone, the tension that he had created in the chamber eased slightly.
Elder Malik looked at the old master Harun.
"You have guided this young one wisely. Continue to do so; we need these kinds of minds here in the sect."
