Chapter 16 - A Friend, A True One

In the bustling hallway of the university, the ceiling lights fill the entire hallway with light. Among the students, Nash, a young man with brown short hair; the sides of his head trimmed. He has a pair of brown eyes, thick eyebrows, and a jawline that can be seen easily.

He walks through the hallway until he stops beside a door. He pulls the door and walks inside the classroom, his eyes scan every row.

"Found him." Nash sat on a chair beside another young man wearing a red jacket with black stripes on each sleeve.

"Sup, Ivan?" Nash whispered.

Ivan didn't look at him but his lip remained closed and his eyebrows narrowed. "Sadly, the guardian of the crystal of Havoc died after sacrificing herself to seal the infiltrator inside the same temple."

Nash speaks lowly. "Aya has many talents."

His eyes squint, and his hands close. "If only we weren't tasked to guard Manila, we could have helped her."

Ivan knowing that he's right couldn't do anything but nod but he remembers something which causes him to speak, "Damn right. To add more to my report, the villagers told me that the barrier is unbreakable which means that the infiltrator is still locked inside the seal."

His words are cut after Nash pushes himself away from his seat. He slides his hands inside the pockets of his long dark pants while staring forward. "I feel heavy, I think, I need to have some fresh air."

Ivan remains sitting while watching Nash walk out of the classroom, and the pencil in his hand is beginning to emit smoke. He pats a towel on the pencil, extinguishing the small amount of fire before it gets stronger.

He stares at the pencil with anger but that anger quickly turns into sadness. His head lowers while his shoulders shake.

The air blows strongly on the rooftop, and Nash inhales deeply while sitting on top of a large exhaust fan. His feet dangle while his eyes gaze at the multiple sights of school buildings inside the massive campus.

He brings out a knife with a green blade and stares at it with longing. "Aya, you gave me this knife because it was dull. You told me to give it to you after I sharpened it, and I did it with my own skills but how can I give it to you personally? How can you see the fruit of my skills?"

He sniffs and slips the knife back in the pocket of his pants. He pushes himself to stand on his feet and brings out his brush and notebook. He flips the page of the notebook and starts to draw on an empty page.

Nash turns beside him, seeing the large white eagle that stands 50 feet high. He sits on the back of the eagle, and the giant creature begins flapping its wings as it ascends toward the sky.

"I need to go to that village," Nash opened his notebook, and an eagle climbed out of a page, "I need you to inform the headquarters to send guardians to guard the prison of the infiltrator."

The eagle flaps its wings and flies away from Nash. The giant eagle soon lands in a village, and Nash hops from the back of his eagle. The eagle leans its head towards Nash, and he rubs the head of his bird.

Five men carrying spears approach him. Nash immediately looks at them, and says, "Bring me to the murderer."

Somewhere faraway, in a plain of fields, Nicholas is sitting on a big rock lying on the grass. The air gently blows over him, and he feels he hugs himself. "It's cold in here. But in my homeland, it's hot!"

"You like a peanut butter in a pandesal?" Juan lent Nicholas a bread covered in a tissue.

Nicholas stares at the round bread, and he shifts his eyes back at Juan. "Juan, you know that I need to stop eating."

"Huh?"

"Because there's no toilet in here!"

The voice of a calm man fills the head of Nicholas. "You can use strong air pressure to blow every trail of stool in your–"

"That's disgusting, Gale!" Nicholas unexpectedly shouted.

Juan steps backward, and grabs Nicholas right on his chin, causing his jaw to drop. Juan shoves the pandesal straight inside of Nicholas' mouth.

"You need to eat! You're going nuts because of hunger!"

A wave of green energy touches them. Nicholas turns his eyes where it came from, and he sees Elesia standing surrounded by a green aura. Every step she takes, the green aura disappears. She sits beside Nicholas and sighs.

Nicholas looks at her, seeing her resting her forehead on her knees. He nods slowly with a calm stare at her. "It still hurts, I can still feel you lamenting for your sister's death."

Elesia raises her head a bit, letting him see her eyes. "It's very difficult to pretend that I am strong but like other humans, I am emotionally fragile."

Nicholas looks at the soil but his lip shows no smile. "You don't have to blame yourself. What you are feeling is not being weak but it's just a justifiable trait that we all have."

Elesia shakes her head. "But I am carrying the crystal that I can't allow to fall into the hands of those seeds. I can't afford to be weak!"

Nicholas raises his hand and places it on Elesia's shoulder, tapping her shoulders gently. "That's why we're here right? We are here to become strong as a team."

Juan shakes his head. "Oh, no way! I don't want to be in danger!"

Nicholas chuckles and shakes his head while staring at him. "No, you won't fight those evil creatures with us."

Elesia is staring at Nicholas, and she places her hands on her chest. Nicholas turns his eyes toward her, and she's already standing on her feet with her eyes staring at him.

"I'm still mourning for her but she'll be happier if she sees her younger sister doing everything to be strong," Elesia stretched her arms.

A transparent unseen woman is standing beside Elesia, and a smile manifests on her lips. "You really are my sister."

The transparent woman disappears with a proud smile. Elesia and Nicholas run toward each other with Nicholas covering his hands in wind while Elesia is carrying her scythe.

The clash of both fist and blade releases a strong wind pressure, and Juan covers his face with his arms as the pressure keeps pushing him backwards.
