Chapter 206 - CHAPTER 206

Ichibē Hyōsube, the Monk Who Calls the Real Name, fixed his gaze on Kurotsuki Renya, his expression finally stripped of its earlier levity.

"You… copied my power?"

Renya only smiled, calm and composed, as though the question itself was trivial.

"You cannot truly be killed," he said evenly. "As long as your name is spoken, you can be recalled. Your existence is bound to it your power, your identity, your very being. I simply applied the same principle to myself."

Ichibē's brows furrowed slightly.

"But I erased your name. That connection should no longer exist."

Renya nodded, unfazed.

"What you erased was my link to my name not the name itself. You severed the association, stripped away my defined existence… but you cannot erase the concept of my name from reality."

His voice sharpened slightly.

"As long as a name exists and as long as that name refers to me then I can return."

This was the same principle Ichibē himself had demonstrated before: even when he stripped a target of its name, the concept of that name still lingered within the world's fabric.

Renya had simply weaponized that truth.

Before his name was erased, he had embedded his essence within it. Thus, even when destroyed, he could reconstruct himself from that conceptual anchor restoring his body to the state before Ichibē's interference.

Ichibē's gaze deepened.

"You've twisted the nature of names themselves…"

Renya tilted his head slightly.

"Your power is extraordinary. You erase names, redefine existence, assign weakness. You can kill me. But tell me can you kill someone who resurrects every time their name is invoked?"

A brief silence followed.

Then Ichibē's expression hardened.

"Then I won't kill you," he said coldly. "I'll reduce you to something lesser… and seal you away permanently."

He moved instantly.

Renya retreated at high speed but barriers had already been established.

Invisible seals surrounded him from all directions.

"You cannot escape," Ichibē declared.

Renya tested the boundary

 and passed straight through it.

Ichibē's eyes widened.

"How ?"

Renya raised his hand casually, black ink gathering in the air, forming a character.

"Seal."

The kanji shimmered into existence, replicating Ichibē's authority.

Renya smirked.

"See? I can do it too."

"That's impossible," Ichibē muttered. "You cannot wield Ichimonji."

Renya's voice remained steady.

"The moment you struck me and stripped away my Zanpakutō's identity, I analyzed the structure of your Shikai. I didn't copy it I reconstructed it."

His gaze sharpened.

"You manipulate 'black' the conceptual ownership of darkness itself. You control names through ink. It's an absurdly powerful ability."

He exhaled lightly.

"And now… so can I."

Renya extended his hand.

"I grant you… emptiness."

An invisible force invaded Ichibē's body.

His spiritual structure destabilized the outline of his soul beginning to distort, hollow-like erosion spreading through it.

Ichibē reacted instantly.

Ichimonji swung.

The concept Renya imposed was severed mid-transformation, restoring balance.

Renya chuckled.

"Fast response."

He straightened.

"That was just a demonstration. If you have anything left… now would be the time."

Lightning surged across his body, reiatsu compressing to terrifying density.

Ichibē snorted.

A massive hand formed and descended.

Renya met it head-on.

Boom.

The construct shattered instantly.

But Ichibē was already moving.

A dragon-shaped torrent of Kidō surged forward.

"Hadō #3: Blue Fire!"

A storm of compressed force erupted but Renya pierced through it effortlessly with a concentrated discharge.

Ichibē escalated immediately.

"Bakudō #62: Hyapporankan!"

Beams of light rained down but shattered before binding him.

Ichibē continued without pause.

"Bakudō #99, Part One: Kin!"

Bands wrapped around Renya.

He flexed

Cracks spread.

"Part Two: Bankin!"

Spikes drove in.

"Final Seal: Bankin Taihō!"

A colossal stone monument descended, crushing everything beneath it.

Darkness followed.

Ichibē raised his brush.

He began chanting an ancient incantation tied to the authority of names, death, and burial.

The world turned black.

A mausoleum manifested.

Tombstones emerged endlessly, swallowing Renya's presence entirely.

Then

Ichibē wrote in white:

"Anonymous."

Across reality itself.

Every memory shifted.

Every mind altered.

Kurotsuki Renya no longer existed.

Only "someone without a name."

On the Omotesandō below

Soi Fon trembled.

She remembered him.

His presence.

His voice.

But his name

"…what… was it…?"

Even Aizen narrowed his eyes.

Ichibē's power had rewritten cognition itself.

"No one can call him back now," Ichibē stated calmly. "Without a name, he cannot return."

Soi Fon collapsed, tears streaming uncontrollably.

"Anonymous… how can you… die…?"

Even her grief used the false name.

The erasure was absolute.

Then

A voice.

Cold.

Clear.

Behind Ichibē.

"Who allowed you… to change my name?"

Ichibē turned

Too late.

Renya's fist pierced straight through his chest.

Lightning detonated internally

Ichibē's body exploded apart.

Renya stood behind him, expression calm.

"I know you're not truly dead," Renya said. "You retain awareness even after destruction. You can hear me."

This aligned with canon Ichibē could revive via name invocation through others, even post-mortem.

Renya continued.

"I lied earlier. I didn't replicate your power."

His eyes gleamed.

"What I did… was far simpler."

He raised his hand.

"I exist in the thoughts of others."

Ichibē's scattered essence reacted.

"You can rewrite names," Renya said. "But you cannot erase memory itself. As long as someone remembers me even without a name there is a conceptual anchor."

He placed glowing white script over his own chest.

And wrote:

Kurotsuki Renya.

Reality corrected itself instantly.

The name returned.

Recognition snapped back into place.

"Renya!"

Soi Fon cried out, voice breaking.

Renya smiled faintly.

"Sorry… I made you cry again."

He stepped toward her

 and froze.

Her body convulsed.

Dark fluid spilled from her lips.

Her skin discolored.

Cells collapsing at a fundamental level.

Renya's expression changed for the first time.

A presence approached.

Calm.

Measured.

Calculated.

A man in a striped hat stepped forward.

Kisuke Urahara

"…I had no choice," Urahara said quietly. "She had to die to stop you."

Renya's gaze darkened.

Aizen spoke from behind, analytical as ever.

"As long as she lived, you retained hesitation. Doubt. Attachment. Kill her and your mind fractures."

Urahara nodded.

"Your power exceeds even the Hōgyoku. You turn thought into reality. That makes you… unstable."

His tone remained clinical.

"If you begin to believe your evolution is meaningless you stop evolving. If you believe you should die…"

He looked directly at Renya.

"Then you will."

Aizen exhaled slowly.

"She was always your final weakness. I hinted at it… but you ignored me."

Renya's voice lowered.

"…When did you decide this?"

Urahara answered without hesitation.

"Months ago. When you sought me out in the Human World. I calculated the risk."

His eyes hardened.

"The moment you became uncontrollable… she became the failsafe."

Renya glanced down at Soi Fon's collapsing body.

"…When did you poison her?"

"During the battle with Askin Nakk Le Vaar," Urahara replied. "I modified her body using my Bankai. A delayed trigger."

Renya exhaled slowly.

"So even then… you were preparing."

Urahara nodded.

"I hoped it wouldn't come to this. I trusted Yamamoto. I trusted the Royal Guard."

His gaze sharpened.

"But you surpassed all projections."

Renya gave a faint, bitter smile.

"…And now we're here."

Urahara stepped forward slightly.

"Now ask yourself one thing."

His voice dropped.

"Was any of this worth it?"

Silence.

Then

"If she's gone… what is the purpose of your power?"

Aizen added quietly:

"If she dies, your conviction collapses. Your thoughts will turn inward… and that will destroy you faster than any enemy."

Urahara finished:

"The moment you believe you've lost…"

His eyes locked onto Renya's.

"You've already lost."
