Three months later
"That boy is like an annoying alarm. You should tell him off once and for all and move on from this, sweetheart." Grandpa trudges around arranging things that don't even need arranging.
"That'll be 10 dollars." I tell the little girl in front of me, her steps bouncing with excitement.
"Here!" Her mother passes me her card, and I scan it. Once the machine beeps in acceptance, I hand over the books.
"I will hold it. I am a big girl now." The little girl side-eyes her mother, and the mother raises her hands in surrender.
I laugh a little at her attitude, and her mother smiles at me before she bids a goodbye. That little cutie is just like me when I used to be a kid.
"Are you even listening to me?" Grandpa grumbles somewhere from the back.
"As you can see, I'm busy." I yell back, shaking my head.
He has been getting on my nerves lately. Why does he even care about a random guy that he doesn't even know?
