Chapter 341: Why Did She Actually Come Down?
Flamme took a deep breath, suppressing the various speculations in her heart, and said to Olivia, "In that case, I will take her back to the Magic Association."
She walked up to Solitär-Flamme, crouched down, and looked the little demon in the eye.
To be honest, Flamme was conflicted. She didn't know whether she should release some pressure to make this demon more obedient.
But seeing that cute little face—or rather, sensing that holy aura—she abandoned the idea of a show of force.
"Come with me. I will take you to a place," Flamme said, her tone flat but carrying an unquestionable meaning.
Solitär-Flamme looked at her quietly. No resistance, no response. She simply stood up obediently, as if it didn't matter to her where she went.
Flamme sighed inwardly. This demon was indeed abnormal.
For most demons, certain instincts were carved into their bones and learned from birth, such as sensing danger or fearing powerful existences.
Now, with herself and Olivia standing before her, the demon showed no fear at all. It was as if these instincts didn't exist. She was even more emotionless than a standard demon.
Flamme reached out and gently took Solitär-Flamme's small hand. The touch was slightly cool, but it didn't give her the strange feeling she expected from touching a demon.
Then, Flamme took out a crystal containing a sealed short-range teleportation spell, allowing her to return to the Magic Association quickly.
Olivia sensed the magical aura within the crystal, a look of understanding appearing in her eyes. She took two steps back, actively giving Flamme space to cast the spell.
Seeing this, Flamme couldn't help but ask, "Senior Olivia, why don't you come back with me?"
Olivia was stunned for a moment, but shook her head. "No need. I plan to return to the Heavenly Kingdom."
Flamme watched Olivia step back, looking ready to see her off. Thinking of how the Sky-Winged lady would return to the Heavenly Kingdom alone to continue her solitary existence, a strong sense of pity arose in Flamme's heart.
"Senior Olivia," Flamme couldn't help speaking again, her voice more earnest than before. "Although I do not know why you sealed yourself in that kingdom, I believe Master Rhodes would not want to see you isolating yourself forever."
Hearing Flamme say words so similar to Rhodes's, Olivia's gaze became extremely complicated.
In fact, she had taken Rhodes's words to heart; otherwise, she wouldn't have appeared here or found this special demon, Solitär-Flamme.
But subconsciously, she was still somewhat resistant.
At least, she needed a passable reason.
And Flamme had just provided that reason.
"You must have seen the anomaly of this demon. She possesses both demonic characteristics and a pure holy aura. This completely violates existing cognitive laws. Master Rhodes will definitely launch an investigation."
Flamme paused, observing Olivia's reaction, and continued, "You were the first to contact her, and you possess the strongest holy power. Your existence might play a key role in unraveling the mystery around her."
"Moreover, regarding this cave and the traces of Carlo's activities here... returning to the Magic Association would allow you to inform Master Rhodes of these details more completely."
Flamme deliberately invoked Rhodes's name because she knew that for this Sky-Winged who had lived for a thousand years, only her Master Rhodes could make her change her mind.
Olivia listened and remained silent for a long time.
Returning alone to the Heavenly Kingdom would indeed follow her oath and long-standing habit, but Flamme had given her a very reasonable excuse.
She recalled Rhodes visiting the Heavenly Kingdom not long ago, advising her not to imprison herself.
She also remembered the brief yet profound time a thousand years ago when she fought side by side with Lord Rhodes, Serie, and the others.
"...Very well." After a long while, Olivia nodded gently. "I will return with you."
A delighted smile appeared on Flamme's face. "Great! Then let's go!"
She activated the teleportation crystal. This time, soft spatial light enveloped all three of them—Flamme, Solitär-Flamme, and the newly joined Olivia.
The light flashed, and the cave returned to silence, leaving only faint traces of mana in the air.
Inside the Magic Association, as space twisted, the figures of Flamme and the others appeared out of thin air.
Rhodes and Serie, who had been waiting there, immediately turned their gazes over.
Seeing Olivia appear along with Flamme and Solitär-Flamme, a trace of surprise flashed in Rhodes's eyes, quickly turning into a smile as he nodded to her.
Beside Rhodes, however, the expression on Serie's beautiful little face faltered instantly.
Why did this woman actually come down?
Her eyes narrowed slightly, her gaze landing on Olivia, and the corners of her mouth turned down almost imperceptibly.
In her heart, Olivia—nominally Rhodes's only familiar—held a threat level that remained high, second only to Flamme. A thief cat she needed to guard against heavily!
Didn't she swear never to step out of the Heavenly Kingdom?
Although she was present when Rhodes persuaded her, and Olivia had only said she would consider it, to decide so quickly? Wasn't this a bit too fast?
And how did Flamme manage to abduct her back in just one trip?
Truly... a miscalculation!
However, as the winner, Serie naturally wouldn't show this jealousy too obviously.
She just snorted lightly as a greeting, then, like Rhodes, focused her gaze on the strange demon.
"This is that special demon?" Serie's tone carried undisguised curiosity.
She could clearly sense the contradictory aura on Solitär-Flamme—a demonic body with a holy aura occupying the dominant position within. Such a combination, even with her thousands of years of experience, was something she had never seen or heard of.
"Yes, Master Serie," Flamme answered immediately, releasing Solitär-Flamme's hand.
She had never held any goodwill toward demons. After all, her hometown was destroyed by them. If Master Rhodes hadn't said demons were inexhaustible, she would have considered a demon extermination plan long ago.
Unfortunately, as long as living beings existed, monsters would appear, and demons were high-intelligence life forms born from monsters.
Therefore, unless one killed every living thing in the world, monsters would never disappear, and naturally, neither would demons.
