Three months later after registering for college both of them were accepted to a good college. After some guilt tripping and fake tears, they managed to convince the RA Resident Assistant on being in the same dorm room. There they met two girls. One was named Seraphina and Hope. After they got into the room, they made eye contact and introduced each other. These two girls looked like polar opposites but pretty good looking overall. Seraphina was wearing a pastel top with a flowing skirt and Hope was wearing an oversized black hoodie and a short dark skirt.
Hearing them say this Daniel and Kevin were a bit perplexed. Daniel waved his hand.
"Wait wait so you in the oversized hoodie your Hope and your Seraphina" he raised his eyebrows as he said this "are you sure i didn't mix up your names."
They both just nodded. Kevin chimed in.
"I mean I wouldn't be surprised if you took after her parents and she took after your parents."
She just scratched her head.
"Well its funny you should say that."
Daniel raised his eyebrows.
"No shit."
Seraphina laughed.
"Im kidding. No we dont take after each other parents but that would be pretty funny you know wed might have to take out a DNA test."
They all giggled. Then a sigh came from Hope.
"It was nice meeting you guys but I have to get to work."
She went into their side of the dorm. The dorm was divided into four sections, the entrance, two bedrooms, and one bathroom.
Kevin looked over at Seraphina.
"Whats up with her."
Seraphina laughed awkwardly.
"Well she other female dorm mates."
Hearing this Kevin was a little offended.
"Well excuse me for being born."
She shook her head.
"No not like that. Well you see Hope likes girls."
Hearing this both Daniel and Kevin were still a bit baffled. Seraphina said
"That doesn't bother you right."
They both shook their heads.
"She's not even my type so I don't mind." She looked at Daniel. "Well, I am not looking for anything right now so I'm ok."
Kevin then said
"But that's not the part that baffles us it's that we getting along pretty well but she suddenly just removed herself from the conversation just because we werent what she expected. Thats pretty harsh if you ask me."
Seraphina heard this and shook her head.
"Yeah and she wonders why she cant get a girl to like her."
They laughed a little. Hearing this they heard a bang come from Hopes in the bedroom.
"I heard that."
She quickly apologized.
"Sorry Hope."
Anyways Kevin suddenly chimed in.
"Anyways Sera you wouldn't happen to be lesbian now would you"
Kevin said as he continuously raised his eyebrows. Daniel palmed his head.
"This guy."
She laughed.
"I appreciate the gesture but I know better than to date a roommate. Things could get messy."
Kevin continued.
"What if I want things to get messy."
She laughed as a suggestive smile made its way onto her face.
"Really now."
Seeing this Daniel took it as a cue to leave.
"Alright Ill be in the room. Don't do anything too crazy."
The year continued on and Kevin safe to say he was having the time of his life. And Daniel he found out him and Hope shared a lot in common and shortly became good friends.
"Hey Daniel."
Hearing this he frowned.
"What now."
At first when he started hanging out with Hope he just thought Hope was a little weird but he never expected her to be this unhinged.
"Hey Daniel, I'm telling I really like this one girl I think she's the one."
He laughed.
"Haven't you said the same thing couple of times these last few weeks."
He questioned glancing at her. She quickly took out her phone and flashed it in his face blushing. He quickly snatched the phone from her hand brushing his nose. Getting a clear look at the photo he couldn't help but admit.
"Wow she is pretty."
He took a closer look.
"Huh she kind of looks familiar."
Hope snatched the phone.
"Hey, what you're looking at don't get any funny ideas I heard she only into girls."
Daniel smacked her head.
"Shut already. Also even if she likes girls what makes you think shed like you."
Rubbing her head she questioned.
"Hey what make you think she wouldn't like me."
Daniel looked at her crazy.
"Hey I cant be that bad right."
He palmed his head.
"You asked a girl on the second date if you could get a feel of her boobs."
"Ok so what I've changed."
He questioned.
"Have you really changed though."
She sighed.
"Ok I get what you mean that's why I'm asking you for help."
He raised an eyebrow.
"Oh so now you wanna listen to me."
She quickly went on her knees clasping her hands together.
"Please Daniel other i've tried asking Kevin that but everything his told me doesn't seem to work you're my only hope."
"Alright ill help you out."
She quickly got up grabbing Daniel.
"Thank you, Daniel, you don't know how much this means to me I swear from today if you ask me for anything I'll do it I promise."
Daniel said nothing. She then grabbed herself as if to protect herself.
"Nothing sexual of course."
Daniel raised his hand. Hope quickly backed up.
"Wait I was just kidding my bad boss."
Daniel frowned.
"Ok what do you need from me."
"If you could go up and ask what type of girls she likes."
Hearing this he just stood up prepared to walk away. She called out.
"Wait please I'm begging I've never had a girlfriend or even sleep with a girl in my 20 years of living please Daniel you're my only hope."
"Ok fine how about this I'm not going to ask her what type of girls she like I'm just going to give you some advice."
"Oh well that also works."
For a whole month Daniel was able to help in and her romantic endeavors. Three month later Hope had finally gotten the courage to make to a move. As she came out with a black tight shirt and a skinny jean with a slashes around the thighs.
"So Daniel how do I look."
"You don't look too bad i guess."
She poked fun at him.
"You wouldn't happen to be falling for me now would you."
He frowned Before he could even say anything, she ran out the door. He just shook his head.
"What the hell is that idiot getting at."
Although Daniel didn't wanna admit he might have fallen for this weird girl after they spend had spent the last 3 months mostly hanging out with each other its no wonder one or both of them would. Daniel shook his head. He found himself being the one who'd fallen in love but Daniel wasn't going to try anything after all the other party didn't swing that way so he suppressed any sort of impulse he had whether it was touching her or making eye contact he didn't wanna do something he might regret.
Daniel just signed.
"I gotta clear my mind."
Daniel went out for a walk. The moon seemed a little brighter to night. He wasn't in the right state of mind. He felt like a fool helping the girl he liked getting into a relationship with another person. He felt like shit. He spend the next 10 minutes walking around before he knew it he found himself in a forest. As he sat on the edge of a cliff he usually came here when Kevin had a girl over or he just needed to clear his head that cold breeze and beauty of the brought a sense of comfort and peace.
After laying next to the cliff for another 10 minutes he got a text.
"Hey Daniel where are you right now."
Daniel took a look at the name it was Hope. She was asking were he was. He frowned not answering the texts. Several then a couple notifications came though. He grow irritated hearing the constant sounds of notifications. Finally checking his messages the messages left him a bit stunned.
"Hey where you right now."
"I gotta something to tell you."
"I ended things with her."
"I can't talk about this over text just call me when you get this I'm really worried about you."
He was a little happy also confused.
"What does she mean by this."
He unlock his phone typing away.
"What you talking about we went though all that to get her to like you and you just going to give up like that what the hell."
"Yeah i know but I realized I like someone else."
Growing irritated he asked.
"Ok what does that have to do with me."
Next she sent an angry emoji.
"Just comeback Ill be outside the dorm."
Seeing her going offline he signed.
"Do i really have to go."
A minute later he stood up.
"I guess better go got nothing better to do."
As he was walking through the forest Daniel began to walk slower and slower. His limps began to feel soggy.
"Fuck what the hells going on i feel a dizzy I got to seat down"
Before he could a voice Echoed within his mind.
"RETURN"
"Huh"
Soon he hit the ground. His vision didnt go blurry it seemed as through he was falling. Everything around him was pure black. Soon he everything went from black to purple mixed with a hint of green around the purple. Soon he hit the floor or what he thought was the floor. Looking around he couldn't help being amazed. It seems as through he was in an ancient Chinese building expect this one was made up of different colors that seemed like they shouldn't mix but they did.
"Wow"
Daniel couldn't help being surprised.
"Wow these looks like one of them emperors' palaces they talk about in the web novels I've read I got to say the novels don't do them justice places is really beautiful and to think some protagonists reject the life of an emperor"
After looking around Daniel spotted a throne in the distance there seemed to be a figure with purple hair, he couldn't make any other feature expect the bright purple hair. A moment later he saw two golden lights that seemed to be pupils looking at him. He was a little surprised by this. Then the figure seemed to utter a word Daniel couldn't make out what it was.
"What did you say"
A moment later a word resounds though the space
"Come"
Next moment the space moved him Infront of the being sitting on the high throne. Looking at the being he could say this was the most beautiful person or thing Daniel had seen nothing hes seen online let alone in person could come close its like all the beautiful features of everything was put together on one being one would think such a look would be impossible but Daniel at this very moment would disagree having such a beautiful and aloof being look at him Daniel didnt know what to say.
"Uh hi nice to meet you Mr. uhm"
"Those who know me call me Zi ming But lesser beings call me the god destiny and luck"
Daniel looked at him about to say something before being interrupted.
"You may call me zi ming"
"Uhm ok Mr. zi ming why am I here and do you know how i can get out of here and I dont think I should be here"
Zi ming starred at him before laughing.
"Your right where you need to be"
Then the ground started rippling. Soon a bunch of chains came and wrapped around Daniel.
"Hey what the fuck are you doing"
Zi ming stood up slowing walking down.
"I was once a being worshipped by others only a few could hope to reach my level yet those few who have reach my level bought me down to this Insignificant planet my soul mostly shattered buts that's where you come into the picture Daniel this planet barely has any sort qi or any other energy in the middle of nowhere cultivating here is practically suicide for someone like me in current state"
Daniel frowned.
"So what does that have to do with me"
"Well you Daniel are in fact my only hope of getting of this planet"
"So is this anyway of treating your only hope"
"Well you have to understand i had no choice i cant have your soul running at such a crucial moment"
His golden eyes then began to glow and his hair started sway as if this place had any wind but Daniel knew better. Zi ming stared at Daniel.
"Its about time"
He extended his hand towards Daniel as if calling something. Immediately Daniel begun to feel as if something was being pull from his throat. No it more than that a part of him was being taken away.
"Aaaaaaah
he let out a gut-wrenching scream
"What hell are you doing"
The process continues for a minute before something an orb of someone sort came out of his chest it shining with a mixture of green and purple look like he took out a sun only then did his screams stop.
wow that's a whole lot more than a expect well this does bring a change of plans"
Daniel groaned.
"What the hell did you even do I feel like shit"
"Well I gotta say Daniel I might underestimated you I never expect you to be this unlucky i mean your truly one of a kind this planet might not be as simple as I thought to give birth to such a thing no I don't even think you were meant to be born HAHAHAHAHA"
Having enough Daniel shouted.
"What the hell are you talking about asshole"
He stopped laughing.
"Well Daniel see I've been on this planet for 200 years my soul heavily injured on the brink of death There wasn't even nearly enough qi for me to recover let alone sustain myself long enough so i began chipping away at part of my soul using what little power i had left to somehow figure out a way to ensure I survive in such a state that's when i saw a certain destiny a chance of a being such you being born it wasn't easy I'll say I used the last of my power well what i could afford to use was spent on making this in the beginning this was nothing more than a patch something to change and keep but that's all that was needed"
"You see you are being of misfortune, you absorb any and all bad luck and yet you seem to retain none just meet to be surround by bad luck I thought hmm I really can't do nothing with you based on my current predicament but then I realized this world heavenly dao was nowhere to seen of course even with no heaven present making this cost me my a bit of sanity and nearly everything but it was successful next i just needed wait a couple years as you can imagine i got impatient so speed things up a bit with your mom and dad"
Visibly as if coming to a realization shaking and angry Daniel stared at him with a fierce gaze.
"What did you say no way you killed them didn't you"
Zi ming smirked
"Well Daniel unfortunate as it is I wasn't the one who left a cloud of misfortune there"
"What you are talking about"
"Well you its seems sometimes your true nature would spill out in moments of tense emotions effectively contaminating the place with misfortune"
"What are you saying"
"Well Daniel I'm saying you killed your parents no one else but you"
"No way you lying that cant be true i didnt know i"
"That might be the case but you still killed your parents what an unfilial child you are maybe you never should have been born"
Looking down with a gloomy expression Daniel clenched his fist.
"You know what that may be true but that doesn't change what you did to me and my parents Zi ming even if its take years I promise I definitely kill you that's I swear on my life"
Zi ming expression suddenly went cold "Well that is one arrogant statement to say to someone who was once Referred as a God after all I could just kill you right now"
Daniel glared at him.
"But there's no point to that after as soon you leave here all that misfortune will come crashing and with the changes that are about to come to the world I doubt you'll live even an hour out there so they'd be no point to me killing you but what I'm about to do next there a point to it"
The next moment Zi ming turned around crushing the ball it broke of into smaller pieces before floating and disappearing. Then just a not even a second later everything begun to shake violently the chains around Daniel became undone his whole soul just collapsed as if he was exhausted beyond belief, he wanted to get up but he couldn't no amount of strength he could muster could make him move. Zi ming just glanced at him before looking back.
"Daniel I let you in on a little secret Luck is A valuable thing if gather enough you can"
Before he could finish a ball purely white appeared Infront of Zi ming.
"Make a wish"
"Why are you telling me this"
"Think of this as a parting gift"
Soon Daniel soul started floating and speeding through the roof and disappearing. Zi ming then turned to the white orb.
"Now then as for my wish well"
As Daniel soul was speeding though the space the next moment Daniel opened his eyes looking around he saw dense trees everywhere of all types. Quickly rubbing the back of his head.
"Was that a dream."
Daniel thought back to it.
"No way that was way to vivid to be a dream it was definitely real."
As he stood up he realized he hit his head too hard and a little blood dripping from the back of his head. He frowned.
"I better get that checked out after all the fucker said something about misfortune following me I better get someplace safe just in case."
Before he could even move he heard a sound.
CRACK.
Looking behind he realized a tree falling towards him.
"Shit I got to move."
The next moment the tree fell right where he was. He was relieved. He heard another cracking sound. Looking around he realized the first tree hit another tree causing a chain reaction of tree failing over towards him.
"Shit."
Daniel quickly made a run for it. As he ran strangely enough the rate the tree fell seemed to increase exponentially.
"Fuck it's like I beings chased does the world want dead this much."
He ran at full speed for approximately 40 seconds. He could feel his body giving out and yet the supernatural force chasing him hadnt slowed down the slightest.
"Just a little bit more I'll be out of the forest."
Seeing the light at the end of a tunnel he held out. Before leaving the forest breathing heavily as his chest went up and down his body wet as though he took a short bath in a river he collapsed on the road.
"I made it out."
His hands shaking.
"I'm still alive."
As he laid on the road he couldnt help looking at but stare at the night sky. a strange phenonium was taking place.
"What is going on with sky."
It seemed multiple transparent barriers each a different color was protecting the earth it seemed something was colliding with the outer barrier before it disappeared. Slowly each barrier broke down slowly whatever was coming towards the earth slowed down before it hit the inner barrier which was the last barrier. Daniel was in awe by what he saw. Soon after the last barrier collapsed all sorts of colors made their way towards him.
"Shit."
Seeing all the incoming all the incoming colors coming towards all he could do was curl up into a ball and hope for the best. Strangely enough he felt around his body to finding nothing wrong.
"Huh what did that do."
The next moment a pair of pure black hands came from the ground wrapping around Daniel neck. Before he could even process what was going on his neck was snapped. In his last moments he heard a voice.
"Annoying."
