Chapter 12 - Chapter 12 – The Door That Should Not Open

Cold…Silent…And deeper than anything Arin had ever felt.

Arin stood inside the massive cavern, the sound of goblins fading behind him. The giant stone gate towered like a mountain wall—covered in ancient cracks, glowing symbols, and a chained seal in the center.

The air felt heavy.Almost alive.

Arin placed his hand on his chest, still shaken.

"Wolf baby… I couldn't save him…"For the first time, his voice trembled.

A gentle ding echoed.

[System: Emotional Disturbance Detected][Warning: Excessive guilt may affect skill evolution]

Arin clenched his teeth.

"System… is this place safe?"

[Unknown Territory Detected][Danger Level: ???][Recommendation: Do NOT open the sealed gate]

Arin exhaled."Great… and I'm standing right in front of the thing you're warning me about."

Suddenly—Thump… Thump… Thump…

A heartbeat.But not his own.

The gate pulsed with a dim gray light, matching the rhythm. The chains rattled slightly as if something behind the door…was breathing.

Arin stepped back.

"What kind of dungeon is this…?"

The system flickered again.

[Fragment Detected: Necromancer's Lost Sanctum]

Arin's eyes widened."N-Necromancer? My class?!"

[Yes. This dungeon belonged to the First Necromancer—one of the strongest beings ever to walk this world.]

A cold shiver ran down Arin's spine.

"Then… why is it sealed?"

The cavern suddenly trembled.

GROOOOOAAAAR—!!!

A massive roar echoed from the tunnel behind him—the goblins had returned, but this time… there were LOTS of them.

Arin turned sharply.

Hundreds of red glowing eyes approached from the darkness.

"No way… all these goblins because of a failed mission!?"

[Host survival chance: 0.3%]

Arin laughed nervously.

"So… almost impossible."

He tightened his grip on his weapon. There was no path to escape.

Except one.

He slowly turned back toward the giant sealed gate.

The heartbeat behind the door grew louder… faster… hungry.

"Opening this gate might kill me…" Arin whispered.

He looked back at the incoming goblins.

"…but staying here will definitely kill me."

He stepped toward the gate.

The moment his hand touched the cold surface—

KRAAAK!!

Chains shattered.Symbols blazed like fire. And the seal exploded into dust.

A deep ancient voice echoed:

"Child of death… you have returned."

Arin's eyes widened.

"M-Me?!"

The gate slowly began to open—Releasing a storm of gray aura that swept through the cavern like a hurricane.

The goblins froze in fear. Some collapsed instantly.

Arin stood still…Eyes wide…As a colossal shadow appeared from the darkness inside.
