"Are... this room is empty..." Cyve muttered.
Right after we entered this room, there were no monsters waiting for us.
There was only a chair placed right in the center of the room.
Surely, that was the chair used by the boss of this final floor.
Wait, if there's a chair here... that means the boss in this place isn't a large-bodied monster or one that can fly.
In that case, it will make things a little easier for me to defeat them.
There's a possibility the floor boss might even be a human. But that seems unlikely.
I've never seen a human turn into a terrifying monster.
I even hope I'll never witness something like that right in front of my face.
—
I kept holding my sword tightly and stayed alert of the surroundings.
The atmosphere was so silent, as if only Cyve and I existed in this place.
But eventually, I decided to relax my guard a little since the boss never showed up.
Did the floor boss get scared first, or maybe he went out? Heh, like there's any Monster with a brain like that.
"Cyve, there's nothing in here... we should go out first while we think of another way to return to the surface—" I said.
Before suddenly, Cyve shouted at me, making me flinch in surprise.
"Yukito-sama, above!!" she yelled.
I immediately raised my head to look at the ceiling of this room.
"W-what is that..." I said.
——
On the wall behind the chair, at the very top. There was a statue attached to the wall.
The statue looked like it was using both of its hands to embrace its chest, as if hoping for something.
Its eyes were closed, yet I could still feel a piercing gaze from it.
Eh, wait a second... this feels familiar somehow...
"Why does it have the same shape as the monster that made me fall?" I muttered.
"What do you mean?" Cyve asked.
"Before I fell here, I encountered a floor boss that looked similar to the statue in front of us." I answered.
"I feel like they look very similar, that's why I think we're in danger." I continued.
If that monster is really the same as the one that made me fall, then where is its scythe?
There was no scythe petrified around its body that had turned into stone.
"Rather than getting into trouble, we should leave first—" I said.
"No, we have to attack him." Cyve said.
Of course, I was extremely shocked after hearing what she just said. Did she really intend to attack that statue?
"Eh? Huh?" I said, still confused and unable to believe what was happening.
"There's no other way to return to the surface without defeating the boss on this floor, so we have to try attacking that statue." Cyve said.
"Yukito-san, I will use a bit of my stamina so I can leave your body for a moment and become a ghost." she said.
"Go ahead..." I replied.
I turned to the side after she said that, and saw Cyve standing beside me... but her body couldn't be touched.
I could see her face, her body, and the clothes she was wearing. But her body looked slightly transparent—she had really turned into a ghost.
"How is it?" Cyve asked.
"How is what?" I asked back.
"Hah... you really are unperceptive, huh?" Cyve replied.
Huh? I don't even understand what she meant, and she suddenly said I'm not perceptive? W-well, I have to admit that's true...
"Hah... at the very least, I can still use a bit of my magic to attack the statue." she said.
"That's good... then, if it wakes up, I'll be the one fighting it?" I asked.
"Of course! I'll return to your body and help you attack it." Cyve answered.
I thought she left my body temporarily so she could help me fight when the statue gets attacked and wakes up.
Well, it's fine, this can be training ground for me.
Cyve immediately pointed both her hands forward and formed a small hole between her palms.
I could see a cluster of light beginning to gather in her hands.
"Remember Yukito-sama, don't expect too much from my abilities, okay? I can only use light magic in this form." she said.
"I don't mind, as long as the statue takes some damage, that's more than enough for me." I said.
Light magic, huh? What kind of magic is she going to use?
No way she's just going to use the light to blind all of us.
The statue's eyes aren't even open, how would that work?
"Here it comes!" Cyve said enthusiastically.
The light in Cyve's hands began forming a straight beam attack that shot directly at the statue's body.
Even though the beam wasn't that big, I was confident in Cyve's strength.
—
After the light in her hands ran out, her attack stopped, and she looked exhausted.
"Cyve, are you okay?" I asked, starting to panic a little.
If Cyve isn't inside my body anymore, I won't have anyone to help me control the Creation skill.
"Calm down, I'm just out of energy... I want to return to your body..." she said.
The ghostly figure in front of me disappeared instantly, and I immediately felt her presence reenter my body.
Grukk!!
I heard the sound of stones collapsing from the wall... that statue!
The statue began crumbling down, but I could tell it was collapsing because the monster inside had awakened and could move again.
"Get ready, Yukito-sama." Cyve said.
"Of course." I replied.
Dust began filling the room as the statue and several stones fell to the ground.
And from behind the dust, I began to see a pair of red eyes staring at me.
Hehe, this is going to be intense.
———
(Hime side)
"Yuu-chan, is it just me or has this monster's body gotten a bit smaller?" I asked Yuu-chan.
"We both noticed it, huh? Looks like its power slightly decreased because its body shrunk." Yuu-chan said.
"In that case, all we have to do is keep fighting it, right?" I said.
"Right. We'll keep attacking that monster until it can't fight back." she replied.
——
(Yukito side)
I was no longer surprised when I saw the monster standing in front of me.
"This is... exactly the same as that monster." I muttered.
I'm sure this could be a twin or maybe another type of the boss monster from floor 40 earlier.
Its shape was the same, the only difference was the weapon it held.
The scythe used by the monster in front of me had a more serrated shape and looked like it had been infused with magic.
Heh, this will definitely be harder, but as long as its body can be attacked, it won't be a problem for me.
