Chapter 146 - Kill and theft

"Damn man, so you can just hand out magic like that?" David asked surprised.

"Technically so long as I have some in stock yes. But, and this is important, it is ALWAYS a limited commodity. This particular bit of magic for example can only be held by a single person at any given time. You could get similar bits or mere fragments of the full power but the whole thing is mine alone. As for my worlds magic I honestly only have a single set at the moment and that's merely because it's a copy of my own." I explained.

"Kinda want some sick magic powers of my own." Jackie said sheepishly.

I rolled my eyes "Not like you could use them if you didn't want night city to be stormed by corporate soldiers searching for you. I'm not sticking around so I'm safe but you are stuck here, they will eventually find you." I said seriously.

"Yeah, pinche corpos ruining everything." he cursed with a sigh of regret.

"Well I suppose I should be heading out. Got a few things to tie up before I head over to chat with Rogue." I said casually as I stood up.

"Anything we can help with?" David asked curiously.

"Probably best if you don't actually. One of these is me murdering a certain fixer before he can become a problem." I said seriously.

"Bad business that, nobody crosses fixers." Jackie warned.

"I know, good thing I don't live here. Besides Faraday is no better than the corporations he works for. Nobody will miss him." I said with a shrug.

"Faraday huh? Heard about that ese, mercs workin' for him got a bad habit of being found with more holes than they were born with. How are you going to find him?" Jackie asked curiously.

"Oh, I already did. My perception is currently stretched across the entire city, there is nothing I can't see. Did I mention how disgusting this place is? Because it is ridiculously filthy. " I said with a grimace.

"You get used to it." Jackie said with an unapologetic shrug.

"I'd rather not, still I'll be back. Hopefully with good news." I said before elementalizing and shooting into the outlet.

Faraday was a nasty man, even by Cyberpunk standards as he was a cold arrogant machine more than a person. All he cared about were results and himself, everything else was just expendable assets to him. -

He was also from what I could tell paranoid. Thanks to my haki being stretched across the entire city I found no less than six fakes that were in various places just in case someone wanted to try and kill him. The actual man himself was relaxing in a fortified bunker beneath a run down looking building at the edge of Heywood and city center. The reason I was confident this was the right man was the fact he was entertaining someone from Arasaka, ironically enough looking for me.-

When I came out of the wall outlet suddenly and without warning the two people reacted about how I expected, they shot first and asked questions only afterwards. The look on their faces when the bullets went right through me ineffectually and hit the wall was priceless. I might have even been amused by it if I wasn't in fact trying my hardest not to let my nerves get the best of me as I pointed at Faraday. Wiping out that scav haunt didn't bother me because I was not face to face with those inside when I killed them, now I was.-

Taking a deep breath I chose to get it done with and sent the most powerful blast of lightning I could at the man. Much like anyone struck by lightning head on he was dead before be could even process that experience. His body was turned to coke and smoke in an instant while the metal cybernetics in him melted into red hot slag. The Arasaka agent just stared at this in horror as I shot back into the outlet before I could get sick. I came out in an alley not far from that spot as I heaved as my stomach revolted.-

'I did it, I killed someone.' I thought with an anxious unease.

I didn't feel bad about who I killed since Faraday definitely had it coming but the understanding of what I had done was still a heavy one. My haki helped here as my will was not so fragile as to break from this but it still took me a few minutes to calm myself. Even then I knew if I stopped long enough to really deeply think about it again I'd feel sick. So I chose everyone's favorite coping mechanism, avoidance.-

Rather than allowing myself to dwell on that thought I focused on my goals and moved on to my next target. Thankfully this time it wasn't a killing one, instead it was a string of heists. I couldn't just come to this world and walk away without some stuff after all. For example I showed up in a underground vehicle depot belonging to the Rayfield vehicle dealership and helped myself to an Aerondight model vehicle. With that securely tucked into my inventory I moved onto to a bigger juicier target, the Militech armory in Night cities branch of the company.
