"Incredible!" He breathed out as he hurried forward and began to thoroughly examine everything.
I was not in as much of a hurry and walked in calmly before allowing the "door" I opened to close. I wasn't worried about getting trapped in here as this summoned realm was mine and I had full control over it.
"These plants seem so real yet they clearly are not. No plant behaves in this manner." Flammel muttered as he deeply scanned the plants with his wand.
"That's because they are place holders." I said honestly.
"Place holders? Why?" he asked curiously.
"Creating a complete ecosystem is not so easy. I knew from the start that I couldn't directly jump to that stage but needed to slowly move towards it. The first step was naturally getting placeholders for the actual flora that will be added." I explained.
He looked enlightened "I see. So this realm is incomplete?" he asked and I made a so-so motion.
"Technically this is a complete realm. It is not however a PERFECT one. As it stands right now nothing could actually survive here. None of these placeholders could serve as food for herbivores. The only part of this place that can sustain life is the atmosphere that is self regulated. Even the water at the edges of this isle are barren of life though by no means are they stagnant." I said seriously.
"Ah, so you intend to slowly mix in elements to create a proper ecosystem. I assume this sand is one such thing you will be changing?" he asked as he grabbed a handful of the fine grains of white sand that flowed through his fingers.
"Of course. Real soil is not composed of a single thing after all but a great many things. Frankly I was simply going to purchase a large amount of enriched soil to replace at least the top and middle layers of the isles ground. This will also introduce bacteria that will serve as the foundation of this ecosystem in time." I explained.
"Perenelle would no doubt love to help you with such a project. Were this realm not exclusively yours she might even be tempted to transplant her garden of Eden project here entirely." he said with a smile.
"I could certainly use the help for the general aspects of this process." I admitted as it was honestly a lot.
I had to fully swap out the sand for proper stone and soil, add a perfectly natural set of plant species, minor fauna like insects and small fish and crustaceans.
A lot, I had to do a lot.
Still despite the place not being perfect Flammel was fully content just examining every inch of it to see if he could figure out how to create his own. It was certainly possible but I doubted he'd be able to. This wasn't like Newts "little world" inside his suitcase that was a manipulation of space. This was an entirely new space separate fully from the world until I opened a door into it.-
I didn't wander the place idly though but stuck close to Flammel to listen to whatever insights he had while he eagerly explored. The "mountain" at the center turned out to be the greatest surprise in truth as the huge red stone structure was the anchor point for the realms life supporting ability. Flammel discovered this as he tested the "mountain". Apparently when I fused the fake philosophers stone into the Fayth it's property of giving "life" to inanimate objects was absorbed and integrated into the summoned realm. A flaw I hadn't even considered existing having been solved by total coincidence.-
Over the next three days I along with both of the Flammels thoroughly explored, categorized and begun improvement on the realm. Both of them generously offered to throw their basically endless wealth behind renovating the place entirely. To be fair though it really was an experience that they'd never had before and after six hundred and some odd years of life new experiences are worth more than any amount of wealth. In the span of these three days the entire top and middle layers of sand had been replaced with natural stone and soil.-
Additionally with Perenelle's help I had bought seeds from a variety of magical plants that we introduced to the realm and caused to sprout with potions. I sort of cheated with the trees by using the system secretly to ensure that all of the trees grown in the realm were magical. Actually getting magically inclined tree seeds would be next to impossible as even the seeds belonging to such a tree had no guarantee of being like it's parent tree. Still creating a fully magical ecosystem was a challenge that the woman enjoyed immensely.-
"It will take some time for all of these transplanted species to adjust and create a cycle but it will happen." she said as we put in the last touches.
"That's fine. I am not in a hurry." I said with a shrug.
"I must admit to being slightly jealous. A private garden that answers to you with but a thought. My project would have been much easier if I possessed such a thing." She said honestly.
