Vishi was startled after hearing those words. He had lost most of his purpose in life since he no longer had anyone to be with, but after listening to The Supreme, something in him became curious about Vishnu's history.
Seeing Vishi's reaction, The Supreme continued,"You must have heard about the Order of the Black Knight, right?"
Vishi was completely shocked. The Order of the Black Knight was an organization created by the Black Knight himself, but everyone believed it had been disbanded after the country of Ardia adopted democracy—after all, in a world ruled by guns, a knightly order seemed useless.
The Supreme continued,"The Order of the Black Knight still exists… and I am its head—one of the descendants of the Black Knight."
Vishi was shocked again but kept his expression controlled.
The Supreme went on,"Vishnu, your friend, is not only a genius but an Inheritor. A person who has inherited the Black Knight's knowledge at a subconscious level."
Vishi immediately looked at Vishnu.
The Supreme continued,"We don't know how this phenomenon occurs, but throughout history there have been many inheritors. Normal people remember them as geniuses or polymaths. Some inheritors never appeared in public at all."
He paused speaking.
Vishi then asked,"How do you know that Vishnu has inherited the Black Knight's knowledge?"
The Supreme replied,"You will understand it yourself after reading the books in the manor. But let me tell you this—an inheritor already possesses the mental knowledge of the person they inherited from.Normal people have to acquire that knowledge through learning. The same goes for geniuses or prodigies."
He looked directly at Vishi.
"I want you to answer this after hearing everything. Are you an inheritor?"
Vishi closed his eyes. After some time, he said quietly,"I don't think so. As far as I remember, I don't have any pre-existing knowledge in my head."
The Supreme looked into Vishi's eyes and said,"Well, I suppose you really are not."
Some of the other clan leaders looked disappointed.
The Supreme then said,"Shika, take this boy with you… Shiva, you stay here."
(OUTSIDE THE HALL)
Shika let out a relieved sigh."It's always so taxing to be in his presence," she said while looking at Vishi.
Vishi nodded.
Shika continued,"A new bank account has been created for you with all your parents' assets in it. All the information will be provided in your room in the manor."
Vishi was surprised to hear that he would be living at the manor.
Seeing his reaction, Shika said,"The Supreme allowing you access to our library is his way of giving you permission to stay here. Even I only got access to the library when I was ten."
Vishi looked at the girl in front of him and suddenly asked,"Where is the library?"
Shika told him the direction, and as he walked away, she quietly mumbled,"Am I not attractive to this boy…?"
As Vishi headed toward the library, he had no idea that his actions had planted a small seed of romance.
