His eyes remained fixed on the weapon.
It seemed... different. Not necessarily more powerful than the others, nor superior in terms of amplification or conduction. But there was something about it that he couldn't explain.
It was as if it concealed some characteristic he had yet to understand, a depth that went beyond what his eyes could see.
He held it for a few moments, feeling the flow of Qi through the blade. The sensation was excellent, natural, comfortable, almost intimate.
He almost decided to choose it.
However... after thinking for a moment, he slowly shook his head.

He had used swords for a good part of his life already. The longsword, and the straight sword, they were all variations of the same concept, the same basic form. He knew that weapon. He knew how to use it.
He had also learned to use spears during his training as a child. The spear was different, requiring a distinct approach, but it was still a weapon he had already mastered.
