Kyrian slowly sat down beneath the tree in the center of the small courtyard, his movements calm and deliberate, as if every gesture were part of an ancient ritual.
The gate was closed, the dark wood forming a solid barrier between him and the outside world. The simple walls separated that space from the rest of the Sky Caravan, and that night, that small protection seemed sufficient to keep away all the noise of the world.
Outside, the Festival was still in full swing, oblivious to what was about to happen within those walls. Even late at night, the Caravan remained illuminated by countless spiritual lanterns that floated like earthly stars above the streets.
Entire streets glowed with different colors, golden, blue, green, and violet, creating a luminous carpet that stretched across the entire floating city. Distant voices occasionally crossed the walls, fragments of conversations, laughter, and animated discussions about the day's competitions.
